Even the massive amount of rain and mud couldn’t ruin this AWESOME festival! In fact, the drizzle and mud really fed into the spirit of this eco-friendly celebration. The vendors are very focused on local sourcing and, as such, can be a tad more expensive, but in most cases, the quality is worth it. The beer tasting tent was great, too. The vendors there were all VERY helpful and really eager to help this non-beer drinker learn her way around the hops/malt/yeast world of beer. We found candles, pasta, sausage, honey, even dog treats!!! Make sure you visit this event EVERYYEAR!!! Even our dog loved it!!!

Love this! It rained and we still loved it. Tons of art vendors. Tons of food vendors. Tons of beer vendors. Tons of dessert vendors. Such a great time. We took our huge Malamute and just walked around looking at everything for hours. They had a pet food truck and we got Finn some ice cream. Go go go to this if you get the chance.

I’ve been to the Festival 3 years in a row. It’s always a fun time with great vendors. Interesting art and opportunities for community involvement(hiking, preservation, local food, etc.). Only negative is that the vendor map is not always accurate, so it can be hard to find some things. Can’t wait to return next year!

I have been to the Moss Rock festival and just visiting the preserve for several years now and I have enjoyed it every time. It is a great place for just about any age. I have actually worked the festival held here twice to date. One year my daughter’s culinary team entered the cake expo for best cake design.(the sweetery now replaces the cake expo). They didn’t win 1st place but it was a wonderful experience for all of us. I think I ate cake for days. what a wonderful way to put on 5 pounds… lol! Bill K(a friend/co-worker of mine) introduced me to the festival years ago; his wife Eileen, their son Alex, a great staff and a host of volunteers put this festival together every year. They really go out of their way and try to cater to everyone. There are so many things to see and do that you will probably be here for a couple of hours. Festival will be held on Saturday, November 1st(10:00am-5:00pm) and Sunday, November 2nd(10:00am-4:00pm). There will be local artist on site, art for purchase, live music, sweetery, wine tasting, a beer garden with craft beer, some of the best food trucks Birmingham has to offer, fun for the kids with Planet Project and Wonder Kids studios,(my kids enjoy the hands on crafts) hikes, geo-coaching and eco-ideas. Just an all around good way to spend the afternoon with family, friends, kids or just by yourself. In my opinion there is no better place to have a festival, it is nestled amongst a quiet, nostalgic neighborhood with the 250 acre preserve of natural beauty sat as the backdrop. Almost makes me want to start whistling the«Mayberry theme song»… TIP:Parking, Directions, Shuttles and Handicap Free Visitor Parking– All visitors will Park & Ride one of the free festival shuttles from the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium to The Preserve, a classic American neighborhood in Hoover. The Hoover Met baseball stadium is located off of Hwy 150 and Stadium Trace Parkway. Festival Shuttle– It’s quick & easy. Only a short 5 minute ride. Shuttles will run regularly from 9:30am to 6:00pm Saturday and 9:30am to 5:00pm Sunday. Visitors will be dropped at The Preserve’s retail center. Handicap– Drop offs and pick-ups are allowed at the west roundabout on Preserve Parkway — adjacent to The Preserve’s retail center. What a great place to spend the day or the weekend. Great weather, good people(brewery) and lots of entertainment. Birmingham needs more events like this! Wish there was more food trucks…
