I recently had my 13yr old daughters birthday party at Space Center. What a refreshingly updated operation! This is not your dirty, dingy spot with broken down old machines that still seem to be in business(not sure how). The games are current and clean, with a debit card system instead of tokens or tickets(so much easier). The service from the«party person» was terrific. The food and menu were great, including a beer and wine menu. which is a nice addition to a entertainment center. This is a place where everyone can have a good time. and did. All of the adults joined in with the games and laser tag! Its nice to see Space Center raising the bar on this type of business and we look forward to our next trip.

The glory days of Space Center are long over. My daughter wanted to treat me and her brother to a day out as I have been stuck inside for some time having health troubles. We loved Space Center when they were small. So that was our first stop. What a mistake. The trip was ruined in the first 30 seconds of arriving. She put her credit card into the machine to buy us some tokens. A very confusing little machine, not the type you see at Funspot. No room for errors, and if you do that is just too bad as it is one touch no verify. It looked like she was purchasing 3 cards with 20 on each for a total of 60, Only it gave her 3 $ 60 cards totaling $ 180. There was a very large bald man in purple standing by. A worker. We immediately called him over and asked for help. He was no help at all. Just nope that is just too bad. But the GREAT news is they don’t expire. WhAT… This is a lot of hours at work for my daughter. We went to the corner for a bit. My daughter was devastated. Bawling from it. Very stressful. Her car payment reduced to Space Center tokens. I told her she needed to save the 2 extra cards and take pics of the machine and call her credit card company. We than walked around to see what to play with all this credit. They have(not exaggerating) About a dozen games all centered around winning tokens. Half of them take your money but don’t work. We were done with the place after spending $ 7 between the 3 of us. This was not the place we remembered. Not sure how they are still open., or Why??. My daughter wanted to talk to another employee before leaving. To get the fat mans name, if he was the manager and to get the number for corporate. The woman we got(Shawna) ended up being the manager. And at first She was not going to help us either.(fat man was assistant GM) Then I told her we were not going to just let this go. We were going to take pictures and call the credit card company. We were fine keeping the $ 60 card we intended to purchase, But not the other 2 totaling $ 120 because of a poorly set up system.(Or hell, even if they had games to play it may have made a difference.) Anyhow, all of a sudden getting a refund on the card was possible.(Not sure why the assistant GM thought lying was acceptable.) So in the end we got the refund. But will leave my thoughts on the place for others to know. That token machine is how this place stays open. I am sure of it. There is nothing at this place. Go to Chucky Cheese or make the trip to Funspot. We have a card with $ 55 on it if anyone is interested, we won’t be back.

WARNING: If you have young kids, do not let them play laser tag. First off, it is 16 dollars per person for 30 minutes. My 11 year old daughter was knocked over by an adult as the adult ran around the laser tag arena. Her nose was bleeding everywhere. She had a loose tooth and a swollen nose. The rules say no running. But they have ONE person monitoring a 2 floored arena and it’s chaos. So you literally have 40 year old men running around with 4 year old children. And oh by the way, they sell beer and wine there. I filled out and incident report and left my cell phone number on it. Do you think the owner ever called me??? NOPE! You sign a waiver that clearly states that they they(space center) are not responsible for even the most egregious negligence. So they have rules in the arena, but they are not enforced. And the owner won’t call you if you kid gets hit by an adult with a large plastic gun. I did get my 64 dollar back, but not in cash. They put it back on my «fun» card and I will never return to use it. And yes, it is hugely overpriced. Sincerely, Erik Witkop

It’s a really fun and exciting place for kids. There is a lot of games and prizes to win. On a rainy day I suggest here.(:

This place is lame. Very few games, nothing to attract older players. Games are expensive with most costing a dollar. This place used to be a great arcade with games for all ages and lots to choose from. Maybe two dozen games now and every game is themed around tickets or the rigged claw games. Put $ 5 on the gaming card left with more than half of it still on the card. Not worth the time, gas or money.

Kids had a great time. Clean well maintained area. A bit expensive but you get what you pay for. Kids loved lazer tag.

Terrible arcade. Why? Here’s why: 1. This place uses a card system in order to play the redemption games. No problem except for the fact that all the games are specifically priced in a way that you will have money left on your card, enticing you to re-load it or leave unused money for the establishment to keep. 0.60 cents for a game credit? Really? Sixty cents? We know why games are priced at 0.60 cents, so you end up leaving money on your card. it is exactly that. I would be HAPPIER if it were 0.75 cents per game. Stick to the quarter, you’re not fooling anyone. 2. Game selection is somewhat limited. Lots of open space here. 3. There is a $ 10 minimum to buy or refill a game card. No, that wasn’t a typo. If you want to go back and put a few more bucks on your card, sorry, you need to spend at least $ 10. Instead, I spent $ 0.00 more and will never return here. 4. No tickets. Half the fun of going to a redemption arcade with your kids is watching the tickets spit out of the machine and then putting them into the ticket counter at the end of your stay. Watching an LCD screen show you how many tickets you«won» isn’t nearly as fun as collecting and redeeming stacks of tickets. 5. Games are overpriced. Redemption games here are 50−100% more compared to other arcades in the area. Joe’s Playland in Salisbury, Pinball Wizards in Pelham, Funspot in Weirs Beach, Funworld in Nashua all offer the same games at a much, much better price.

I came back today, 02/17/2014, to redeem the tickets that my son accrued over a week ago to get him the toys he was supposed to get when we were there for his birthday. When within a minute of entering I was descended upon by who I believe is the owner. He referred to me by my full name and asked if I was the one who wrote the negative reviews about Space Center. I told him I was. At this point a place that cares about their customer base would try to figure out the reason I gave them a negative review and see if there is anything realistic they can do to satisfy the customer. A place that doesn’t care one bit about customer satisfaction would do something crazy like, say, threaten to call the police and forcibly remove someone for a negative Unilocal review. Guess which path they chose.(hint, it wasn’t the rational one.) On top of this, they refused to accept the tickets my son had accrued for his birthday. It’s 60 cents worth of worthless toys that means nothing to them or me, but a lot to my 4-year-old son. So, in short, because somebody wrote a review stating that Space Center doesn’t care about their customers, they threatened police action against a customer and withheld ticket redemption toys from a toddler. Point proven, Space Center. Bravo.

We had our sons birthday party today with about 7 boys. They had an amazing time. We did the premium package with laser tag, pizza, cake, rides, the whole shebang. The boys raved about laser tag, it was awesome! Some of the children didn’t enjoy the rides(thought they were lame) but most had fun, particularly when the group did bumper cars. Our consultant was Chantal and she was so wonderful. She arranged everything and it all went smoothly. The food was ok– pizza was a hit with the kids but the adults had buffalo chicken tenders and nachos that were«meh». The buffalo was SMOTHERED in sauce, okay but not great and the nachos were greasy. We wound up throwing them away. I was very impressed with the quality of the birthday cake– it was bakery quality. But we weren’t there to eat and we were thrilled with how much fun the children had. If you are thinking of having a party here-do it!!!

Space Center is a great place to have a birthday party –especially for boys, and has much more to offer than say, Chucky Cheese. Our group had kids from age 4 to 15 and they all were well served by Space Center. Everyone enjoyed the jungle gym, the laser tag and the bumper cars. I noticed plenty of college kids enjoying the moving climbing wall. Our server was attentive and excellent, I thought 3 hours sounded like a LONG time for a party(it was at Chucky Cheese) but the time flew as the kids moved quickly from one activity to the next, excellent pacing. Food was fine, plenty of cake and each kid got their choice of about 6 flavors of ice cream. This might not be your favorite arcade(see other review) if that is all you are going in for– but for value and service in the boys’ party category, all our guests loved Space Center.
