Best night of the summer. The food was delicious and the service was so friendly I will be sure to go here as often as possible. Side note, This is really family friendly. It’s on a pier and the music is loud-ish, but good. I has always thought this was a 20 year old bar scene, it’s not. It’s the happiest place on Oregon.

Location and view make this a no brainer! We finished a lovely hike and wanted to enjoy the water view … But foun 45 – 60 min waits everywhere. Yay for Unilocal where we saw this little café which is really a food truck on the water … Simple but good basic menu and decent wine plus good beers on tap. Friendly staff and unbeatable spot;-) Burger — 3 out of 5 Chicken tacos — 4.5 out of 5 Fish tacos — 4 out of 5 Fries — 5 super tasty! Casual and recommended;-)

Great spot to watch the action or have a drink at the end of the day. I love sunsets at the sandbar café. Food is solid for a a food cart type place– amazing fish tacos– I think the best in town. Fun bands on Wednesday.

I’m in love with the Sand Bar Café! Want to eat on the Columbia River without paying hotel prices? This is the place. The food is basic, consistent, reasonably priced and tasty. There are vegetarian choices too. The real reason to go here is, it’s the next best thing to jumping in the river on a kite board or the like. What a pleasure it is to sit out in the breeze on the river and watch the world go by. So glad this place has become more and more popular! Don’t ever leave, Sand Bar Café! You make my summers.

The best place for lunch on a summer day! A few summers ago my family and I stumbled upon the Sand Bar Café on accident. It’s a little hard to find the first time you go, because it’s right down on the Columbia River. The owner is always friendly and even though our family is only there a few times a year she always recognizes us and makes us want to come back even more often. The menu is limited(she’s cooking out of a trailer) but is really good! The view cannot be beat. They have couches you can sit on or picnic tables. I would recommend the Sand Bar Café to anyone who is in Hood River!

Brilliant. Hidden away outdoor space on the Columbia River in Hood River. Great couches to relax on and have a beer. They serve food — but I have never eaten here. Handful of picnic tables. Dog friendly. They are family friendly, too. Always decent service. You just go up to the shack/trailer building and order. Canned beverages only. I’ve met cool people out there that will share a couch seat. Perfect on a clear, summer day. Very seasonal.
