I love shopping here! They’re always so friendly and helpful. Love the organic products they carry, just wish they kept it well stocked. That’s the only reason it’s not getting 5 stars. Other than that I love shopping here.

Although my profile says I’m from Los Angeles, I am a Gorge Native, and have lived here most of my life. I would love to give this store 5 stars, but unfortunately the customer service and the attitude won’t allow. The checkers are un-friendly and rude, especially considering the fact that I shop there three or four times a week. No one calls me by name, they baggers and the checkers are constantly having conversations about their personal life(while I’m standing there), and there is rarely a thank you! Sure, I could go to Safeway, where they DO acknowledge you, but I prefer to shop in a market with a health food section. I will say, the deli, bakery, and meat department employees are very polite ANDFRIENDLY! Unfortunately, the people that take your money need a lesson in common courtesy. Please get it together Rosauers, lest I have to drive to PDX where they seem to appreciate the business.

If this were a grocery in a city, I’d probably only give it 3 stars, I suppose because it looks a little dated. But given that it’s really Hood River’s only grocery store, I got the credit for trying their best to serve many kinds of customers: locals of all income levels, and vacationers of varying means. You can get all the basics here, with a store brand called Western Family offering lower priced alternatives for many staples, including bottled water and cereal. The cheese section has the usual suspects, but a number of smaller artisanal makers unlikely to be found outside OR and WA are here too. Check freshness dates though. There is a large selection of microbrews and regional wines, and a section of the market contains various organic or GF products. You can grind your own peanut butter, buy Califia almond milks, and find local produce. The store also often has people in their deli area offering tastes of cheeses or other items. In store personnel are helpful, taking you to where an item is located. I enjoy shopping here when I’m staying in the area.

I’ve known Rosauer’s(we call it Rosie’s) all over the NW including Sand Point Idaho, Spokane and now, Hood River. It’s been a while, it’s upscaled well and I was happy to see it hadn’t devolved into a poor Safeway imitation. The staff was super helpful, they had everything I needed including fresh Salmon, great vegieis, fresh pesto and even an old Oregon friend, GC Commuter Cuvee Pinot Noir at a reasonable price. Luvya Rosie!

This store has been here since I was a mere child!(A VERYLONGTIMELOL!). Excellent produce & good natural health section. It is more $$ than other markets w/i 30 min radius. Quality exceeds here on the other hand.

I really love this store. I love the Huckleberry’s corner, I love the produce selection and wide range of organic veggies… I hate to say, I also love the bakery. Their cakes are just… yum. And their candied coconut maple bar is my one weakness. This store appears to have just about everything I am looking for… except the dark chocolate Special K shakes… but if I asked… they’d order them. They are union… and their staff seem to stick around a while.

Rosauers has friendly, helpful, quick and knowledgeable staff, and stocks tons of local seasonal produce that supports local valley farmers and families. The competing store in town sells produce from chile/australia/california/who knows where it got shipped from. The deli is great for a quick bite or tasty sanwich, and the butcher shop cuts all kind of fresh meat and seafood to order.

Every summer we stay in Hood RIver, Rosauers is the closest supermarket to the house we rent. It is fairly nice, but expensive. If I don’t want to drive two miles to Safeway, I stop by Rosauers.

I thought this place would be like an Adronico’s or Whole Foods from the name. But looks can be deceiving. This store lacked the basic necessities. And what they did have was extremely overpriced. .79 for a lemon??? Because we already had several items in our cart, I didn’t feel like giving up and heading over to Safeway. In the end, we had to do 2 grocery store stops because Rosauer’s left us needing about 8 additional things. Got to Safeway and well, we found everything we needed. We should have ditched all the groceries at Rosauer’s because Safeway was a lot more affordable. Only .50 for a lemon…

Great selection, pretty spacious organic section and free brochures on eating healthy. This is a large grocery chain that rivals Safeway and Albertsons. Go here for more local finds as well as the same prices as other grocers.
