I have a friend visiting from Japan and we were trying to cram as much sightseeing as possible in one day. So off to Mt. Hood, around to Hood River, then up the Gorge for all it has to offer. I kept telling my friend we should stop at a fruit stand to fill our cooler. We had passed a bunch of them before seeing this cute little stand on the way from Panorama Park back down to Hwy 30. Apparently the woman who owns the store was gone so her folks were watching the place. Super, super friendly people! Of course, I was there for the produce and was a tiny bit disappointed to see that they only had cherries. However, the cherries they had were all so wonderful, we got a little of each kind. They also had dried cherries, honey, and various other fruit products as well as beautiful jewelry items. My friend made a bee-line for the jewelry as she had been looking for a sterling silver necklace for her sister. She found exactly what she was looking for at a price that was by far less expensive than anywhere else we had looked. There were also some amazing pieces crafted by the owner of the shop. I had hoped I might be back later in the year to purchase one of these amazing pieces but was told that the day we were there was the last day they were open. And they would remain closed until next July. So, the window of opportunity to visit this cute little place is small, but worth the chance if you’re in Hood River during cherry season.

we hit almost every stop on the fruit loop and ended up coming back here to buy a case of rainier cherries and enough montmorencys for a pie. the cherries were just that much better. the owner also makes fabulous glass jewelry, and her mom makes the most incredibly chewy chocolate brownies, each with a cherry in the center. free recipes are a bonus. we will be back every year.

Delicious cherries. All diff varieties. The people who run the stand are SOOOO nice! The trees in the back are beautiful. It’s a little home run type of place. Very tiny, very cute, very yummy. Try the cherry smoothie if there are no cherries in season. It was wonderful.
