I’ve been here twice over the past year, and both times, a supervisor has loudly chastised/borderline humiliated an employee in front of customers. If it were over something like poor customer service or poor sanitation or something dangerous, I could maybe see, but no! Today, the manager/supervisor was pretty much just harassing a kitchen worker about his not knowing how to prioritize. It wasn’t a big deal at that point, because the restaurant wasn’t crowded. I just felt uncomfortable witnessing the whole charade. The food and prices are decent, and it’s nice to be able to have pizza while supporting someone other than Pizza Hut or Papa John’s, but this particular restaurant has a strange vibe to it that way.

My favorite place to go for some Vegan pizza! I usually order the Berkeley vegan, it’s so good! Even my meat eating fiancé loved it! A little pricey, but definitely worth it. The two of us shared an XL, which should feed 3 – 4 people, but we finished it ourselves. Hey we were hungry, and who can just eat 2 slices of pizza! :) Parking is easy, it shares a parking lot with ward centers. I never have a problem finding a spot.

This review is for service(or lack thereof) only: I have not eaten at Zpizza as their delivery range is only ONE mile. What?!? Hence the one star for lack of reasonable service as a pizza place. Google maps puts me at 1.7 miles away in downtown Honolulu and this place won’t deliver. I’ve never heard of such an absurdity. To the owners: Hire more drivers or stop offering delivery if you don’t feel like putting forth the effort of delivering within a more reasonable range.

Prior to eating at ZPizza I thought there were only two kinds of pizza joints in Hawaii: budget pizza(Domino’s, Pizza Hut, Papa John’s) or specialty pizza(CPK, Boston Pizza to an extent). ZPizza bring something new to the market, which is a hybrid of both. Restaurant: Neat, clean, colorful and well-lit. There’s a bunch of tables inside and a few outside for eating in. You can watch as the pizza is being made and the yummy smells fill the room: D There’s also a soda machine next to a refrigerated case across the room. Food: The menu is very diverse. There are over a dozen, ethnically-titled specialty pizzas with combinations you might never have thought could exist together. If you’re too overwhelmed to choose, you can«build your own» pizza and create the perfect pie. You’re charged a base price and each topping is an additional charge. The uncharge can be quite significant, depending on the toppings you choose. There’s also a section on the menu of «pizza classics» like plain cheese or pepperoni. ZPizza is different because they use high quality ingredients, some of which are organic. Any pizza can be made gluten-free for another up charge. If you’re going to ZPizza for something besides pizza(why would you?), they also have salads, flatbread, sandwiches, calzones, pasta and wings. It confuses me why they’d try to be everything at the same time when their pizzas are more than good enough alone. Regardless, the gluten free pizza crust is delicious, the tomato sauce tastes super fresh and the wings are juicy. Price: As you can see, ZPizza ranges from average to expensive. A large gluten free pizza with three toppings came out to $ 34(00). Add in a salad, wings and maybe a cookie and you’re spending as much as you might at a mid-range restaurant.(That meal was for two, btw.) You’re not going to get a $ 10 medium pizza like you would elsewhere. At the end of the day, you’re paying for quality, and I think ZPizza has the best gluten free pizza on the island. Service: I think the service good. They can get pretty busy at dinner on the weekends, but everyone out front was working to get the food out quickly. The manager didn’t seem to be around much when it was swamped, though… Others: Parking is a bit tedious unless you can find a stall in the 30 minute section on the bottom floor. The restaurant also has delivery! But the 1 mile radius is kind of silly. Overall, I recommend that you give ZPizza a try! Treat yourself!

Please note: This review is for the service only. Z Pizza was my favorite place at Ward to grab a quick pizza bite to eat, however, after last night’s experience dining in, I’m not sure I will continue eating there. It’s interesting how service really makes a difference in the overall experience of one’s meal. When I walked into the restaurant last night with my husband around 8:00pm, nobody was in the restaurant except one couple finishing up their meal and about to leave. So I figured we would be getting our pizzas quickly since it was empty. I ordered a cheese pizza and a pepperoni pizza, which were ready to go in their display case. My husband ordered the combo(salad, sub sandwich, and pepperoni pizza). After about 8 – 10 minutes, the caesar salad and sub was served. Since I was hungry, we shared his salad. We then waited another 20 – 25 minutes. All I kept thinking was, «Why does it take so long to just heat up a pizza in their oven… It’s not like they had to make it from scratch.» But, alas, I tried to be patient and just wait. Finally after waiting the 25 minutes, the girl brought 1 pepperoni pizza slice, and 2 slices of some veggie pizza along with a side salad. We told her that this wasn’t our order and then she said, «Oh, sorry.» Then she took it to the couple sitting outside who just ordered their food 5 minutes ago. We were waiting for over 30 minutes now! Then she came back with 1 slice of pepperoni pizza and 1 slice of cheese. I explained that I had ordered 1 cheese and 1 pepperoni, and my husband ordered 1 pepperoni. So she checked the receipt and said, «Oh yeah, I took the order.» After another 5 minutes, she came back to give me the pepperoni pizza. So on top of waiting 30 minutes for already made pizza to be heated up in the oven, giving us the wrong order, I also didn’t get one of my pizza slices and had to correct the girl. Is it that difficult to match the order with our table number? Needless to say, I doubt I will be coming back in the near future, which makes me sad because I really do like their pizza!

Anyone looking for an above the average pizza should absolutely try this place. They use fresh and quality ingredients, so that’s a HUGE plus. I’m giving 3 stars rater than 4 or 5 because of their unfitting high prices, the VERY slow service and the overall image of that place. For what they charge, they should consider improvement.

Came for a quick lunch here. Ordered the supreme pizza on gluten free crust. Really like the pizzas here, definitely a better version of fast food pizza choice. This zpizza is located at ward, with ample parking available. The location is small, It looks like it takes the employees a while to clear the tables even though it’s not busy. The entire time I was there all I did was observe while I ate. It was like a terrible movie. Overall the customer service here is dirt. The cashier employees are frowning the entire time they’re working their shift and look like they hate their life while working. The on shift supervisor sounds like she is very green and has no idea how to manage her people, because all she does is bark orders, and gives dirty stares at her employees if they are doing something incorrectly instead of using each mistake as a teaching moment. The only person that took customer service to the next level was the cook who worked in the back. Joe the cook came out and let us know that our food was coming out in a minute. That was the only memorable thing from this visit. One star is for good pizzas and the second star is for Joe the cook. Zpizza is great for food, but this location needs lots of help in terms of image. The mainland locations are much better at company representation. Nobody wants to go to a food establishment that has poor customer service but great food. At the end of the day, it’s probably best to order to go.

The salads are fresh, the pizza is very delicious. The ingredients are full flavor and healthy options of gluten-free crust. Idk why they wouldn’t have more locations available around the island. Service is good and atmosphere is quaint. Perfect for a quick bite for dine in or take out customers.

The quality is excellent for Honolulu pizza joints. This is not traditional pizza, though. It’s more homemade, a new age approach to pizza at a higher price than expected. The veggies are tasty, well cooked; the cheese is good as well. I had the mushroom pizza and the American pizza. The American is better, overall, but a bit too much garlic makes it overpower the ingredients. Overall, for Hawaii, this is excellent. For pizza in general: good, solid, fresh. The crust is not correct, though. It’s too soggy, not what a traditional crust should be.

I was having a major craving for pizza and the only place nearby was zpizza so we figured it would be worth a shot. My bf suggested we share a small because a large was $ 25 and we didn’t think we could eat $ 25 worth of pizza. Unfortunately the small size was literally a little larger than a personal pan and it costed us $ 13. My bf had to get a slice of pepperoni on a side which was around $ 3 but not even worth $ 1, seriously. The pepperoni slice had minimal marinara sauce and basically tasted dry like it had been in the warmer all day long. The Napoli pizza we ordered tasted better because it came fresh out of the oven but that’s the only reason this review is getting two stars. They skimped on the toppings considering the cheese was only in the middle and most of the pizza was plain crust. If I’m gonna pay $ 25 for a large pizza or even $ 13 for a small one, it better be worth that cost. Why is it so expensive? Are the ingredients more fresh? No. Are the pizzas better in any way? No. Is the service exceptional? No. So let me get this straight… A supreme pizza at costco or sams costs $ 10 and Zpizza will charge you $ 15 more for a smaller pizza with less toppings and there is no significant reason for the extra charges… hmm. If sams/costco is closed or you don’t have membership, go to pizza hut. If pizza hut is closed and all else fails, go to walmart and get yourself a tombstone because that will be worth your money and it’ll cost you way less. OR if you really want gourmet pizza, go to JJ Dolan, it’s still cheaper.

I will by saying I love Zpizza. The Tuscan Mushroom pizza is my favorite and their Pear and Gorgonzola is fabulous. Why the 3 stars? Because this location is ridiculous slow. Today they had 2 people running the place during lunch rush so I get why it was slow. Even when the 3rd person returned every table was dirty and it took over 20 minutes to make my calzone. I ordered the veggie calzone with no roasted peppers and it still had it. I chose the Tuscan mushroom pizza first however they were out of the mushroom mix. If you have to choose between this location and Kailua I would choose Kailua.

VERY expensive, two large pizzas cost us $ 63, and only one was gluten free(which they upcharge for). My families regular pizza came out first, leaving me to watch them eat for 25 minutes(needless to say they had finished their pizza) before mine even arrived. It was not worth the wait or price.

Gluten free pizza, that tastes good. We were here for the lunch special, pick 2 for $ 8.95: pizza, salad, or sandwich. OR pick 3 for $ 11.95. The pizza is by the slice, and includes any daily specials, the salad is a choice of Caesar’s or pear and Gorgonzola. The Sandwich choices are; turkey, veggie, and supersub. Seating was a little tight at lunch, but we wound up right by the door.(Note to pizza patrons with strollers waiting for their pizza: Don’t sit your hungry tot next to the table with food while you are waiting for your pizza… unless you want a fussy kid screaming«PIZZA!» while you wait 20 minutes for your pie.) The cashier was doubling as the server, so she was on a mission!(side bar: they have a help wanted sign up if anyone is looking for a job) She was hustling around the cash register and serving food as it was ready, even bussing the tables when people left. Prices are reasonable, food is yummy, and this is a great spot for lunch!

Zpizza is a modern pizzeria located near Ala Moana, right next to Ward. One thing I noticed right by walking in and seeing the menu: The dishes are quite pricey. This isn’t your Boston’s Pizza or Pizza Hut… they charge you quite a bit for a slice of pizza here. I could see why when I further investigated. This place uses organic ingredients for their tomato sauce, dough and vegetables. There are also gluten free and vegan choices. The service is great. Very friendly and competent staff. My boyfriend accidentally forgot his phone here, and the guy RAN outside to us to give it back to him. I was very touched and impressed. I wish I had gotten his name, because we were both very thankful. The pizza is good. Not great, but good. It’s definitely not worth the price, and wouldn’t be something you couldn’t order at Boston’s or Pizza Hut. However, since the restaurant claims that the ingredients are of higher-quality, I can understand the price. What stood out to me was the Pesto Chicken Pasta I ordered. The pesto was nice and flavorful, and the chicken was nicely cooked. I know this is a pizzeria, but I would come here again for this pasta. The refills are free, which is a plus. I think they should be, looking at the price of everything else! Overall, if you’re looking for a healthier alternative to pizza, then come here! Otherwise, there wouldn’t be much other reason to visit here.

We have eaten here quite a few times and have always been impressed. Being a gluten free family, we love being able to come and get pizza. Today they went above and beyond. Our pizza was taking longer than normal to complete(they don’t make the gluten free crust until you order) and they brought a free large salad to the table for my family to share while waiting. Very impressed with the level of customer care.

Aaaaaaah, pizza for lunch! How can go wrong? Hey, I just had my 1st pizza experience at ZPizza at the Ward Center. Some of ZPizza features about their unique pizza — 1. 100% Certified organic tomato sauce & non GMO flour. 2. 100% Natural — Preservative free pepperoni & hormone free chicken breast. 3. Part skim, RBGH– Free — Mozzarella from grass fed cows. 4. Vegan & Gluten-Free options. 5. And as advertised — 100% Certifiably irresistible So how come only a «3»? Well I will get to that later… My co-worker had suggested this place for lunch today, and I thought it was a great idea, as I’ve never been to ZPizza. Upon walking into the small shop, a friendly girl takes our order. I decided on the 3 item lunch special, where I picked two slices of pizza & a salad($ 11.25). My co-worker did the same too. What items did I pick? I got the Pear & Gorgonzola Salad with a slice of Hawaiian Pizza, and a slice of Greek Pizza(Vegetarian pizza). My co-worker took the Greek Salad, with a slice of Pepperoni Pizza, & a slice of Greek Pizza. What can I saw about the grub? The salad was ono! And as for the pizza… it was winna’s too! I give the pizza a solid 4 to 4.5 stars. But why the 3 star rating? Well, apparently the pizza is pre-made, so it sits in a revolving display. I don’t know how long it was sitting in the display, but when we got our slices it was stone cold! Although it still tasted good cold, it would have been even better hot. I gotta say, the hand tossed crust was very well done, It was crispy, yet not too heavy & bready. And the tomato sauce used on the Hawaiian Pizza was delicious. Normally I do not eat the Hawaiian Pizza, as I think it’s a mainland thing. The only reason why I ate this, was because the slices looked real good… the ham slices looked so meaty, I had to have it! You know, just because you put pineapple on a pizza, doesn’t make it Hawaiian! Now if you put some Kalua pig with a BBQ sauce, and used a poi based pizza crust… maybe I’ll say it’s legit Hawaiian pizza.(‘Eh, no steal my idea!) Lol! Anyways, after we were eating our meal, low and behold they brought out more HOT pizza… aaaaaah, go figure huh? Lol! If only I came a few minutes later. Sigh…

Zpizza is located between Crazy shirts and Kuaaina in Ward Center. I ordered a small sausage & mushroom pizza for $ 13. It was cut into 6 pieces. Slices were smaller than Pizza Hut or Domino’s. But Zpizza is known for all natural kind of pizza. After I had 2 slices, I didn’t feel bloated or greased out like I usually do with the other places. All their ingredients are organic. This is not a full service dine in kind of place. It’s a half served meaning you order at the counter. They give you a number. You get a table and it’s about 10 minutes of waiting and food will be delivered to your table. I wish it was little bit more spacious but tables are close together. There’s some tables outside as well. I would like to visit again soon.

3 stars is the perfect rating for this particular Zpizza. It’s a chain pizza restaurant all over the US that makes vegan pizza. That’s right! VEGAN. Vegan cheese, vegan«sausages», vegan sauces, vegan veggies(haha, just kidding. Just veggies). I mean, they have non-vegan pizzas, but there is the option to make any pizza on the menu vegan. How many times can I say the word«vegan» on this review? Annoyed, yet? Hahaha You can have quick & convenient, affordable, decent pies here. It’s nothing fancy so it’s a good place to have a last minute lunch with a friend or grab a slice to go. I’ve tried the Berkeley Vegan, Greek, and California. This Zpizza location was a little stingy with their vegan cheese on the pies– I mean, I like the toppings, don’t get me wrong, but Zpizza vegan cheese is actually freaking delicious! It’s full of flavor, «cheesy», and it seriously tastes better than regular cheese. No, I eat regular cheese, I’m not vegan. But no lie, why is their vegan cheese so freaking good? I’ve tried Daiya cheese, which I think is the ones that they use, but if you try vegan pizza from Whole Foods, it’s definitely not as good. So don’t be turned off by the word«Vegan» and just try a vegan pie. I’m a big fan of the Berkeley Vegan and the Greek. As for parking, you can park in the large parking garage behind Zpizza for free. The restaurant is on ground level in front of the street. I was confused last time I visited– for some reason, I thought it was located where all the shops were on the 2nd level. You’ll have to walk outside of the parking garage and it’s across the street from Pier 1! Stop by for lunch!

I was nicely surprised by this place, I got a pizza salad combo and added parm sticks because I felt I needed more bread in my life at the moment. I was right! The crust was pretty perfect, similar to NY slices. The salad and toppings were very fresh. I didn’t love their sauce. Maybe the preservatives have ruined me? The pear salad was great but I could have used more pears! My fav was the parm bread. It is the same crust and got better as it got colder. True sign of awesome! The staff was super informative and patient! glad they were because the menu was intense. I kept finding new items but committed because I needed to stop acting like a fool!
