We get our CSA(Community Supported Agriculture) bag every week from Wally’s Farm. We get eggs, too. The fruits and vegetables are organically grown in practice but Wally’s does not officially have Organic certification. Certified Organic is quite an expensive certification for a small farm so it’s understandable they cannot get it nor advertise their goods as such. Frankly, it’s unnecessary as far as we are concerned. We pick up our $ 20 bag every Wednesday and it is always exciting to see what we are getting for the week. The only downfall to getting a CSA is the lack of variety at times. This is the case with all CSAs so certainly not something to fault Wally’s for. And many CSAs require a particular length commitment whereas here they do not. Now about the eggs. I am a picky egg eater. Mostly, I don’t like eggs, but as a vegetarian, I find it necessary to occasionally get protein from eggs. We were getting organic eggs before finding Wally’s but I wouldn’t eat them. I think all other eggs taste metallic and I abhor the smell of cooked eggs. That is not the case with Wally’s eggs. I see how the hens live and am confident they are well cared-for and live good chicken lives at Wally’s. And you can taste it in the eggs. I actually like them. You will have to get on the waiting list to purchase the eggs, but it’s worth it. We think the CSA from Wally’s is a great value and the vegetables are almost always in great shape. They are picked the same morning. This is the perfect way to get your greens!

Great fresh garlic and seasonal veggies. They are a «spray Free» farm and have a good selection of veggies and sometimes fruit to choose from. Get there early because the sometimes will sell out early of the seasonal picks. Market opens at 9AM at Kaiser High School in Hawaii Kai.

I first found out about Wally’s Farm from Hawaii Kai Farmers Market the other month. This stall is located just as you enter, located on the Ewa-side. My friend and I have been shopping here pretty much every Saturday and check out their stall for their fresh produce. One weekend we had placed an order and perhaps I showed up too early so I was given the option of waiting or go directly to the Farm. Located just behind Kaiser High School, getting here can be challenging. It was like going through a maze but eventually found this place. Greeted by barking dogs which are very friendly, to the right of the home you will find a chicken coop and their farm. I still cannot forget the weekend where fresh arugula was harvested and were given a sample. The greens were very green and I just love the«bite» or peppery taste of this vegetable. It is important to support and buy local. The staff here are friendly. If you have the chance and in the neighborhood, come and check out Wally’s Farm produce at Hawaii Kai Farmers Market on Saturdays at Kaiser High School from 9am to 1pm. NOTE: 1) CASHONLY. 2) Bring your own shopping bag to be environment friendly as well as keeping their costs down to provide us fresh veggies at great prices.
