Usually don’t shop here but since their neighbor(Longs) across the street doesn’t do online orders for photos, I checked on Walgreens and bam — they take online orders! Kind of pricey but in a great location!

I love the convenience of this place. It’s right in front of the bus stop and an easy jet in and out for even the smallest needs. It is much more spacious than I originally thought. The staff greet you upon your arrival and they are friendly and always have a smile on their face. The downside is the checkout. There is not a sense of urgency which means you can be waiting a little bit while they engage with their customer. The engagement is nice, but can be a bit when your in a hurry to jump on he bus. I like the fact that they have a voice that announces«I see three» when there are three people in line. Good to know that someone will be coming to help out and cut wait times. Nice neighborhood store.

When I heard that Walgreens was planning on opening a new store branch in the old space that Price Busters used to be located, I kind of scratched my head. This busy Downtown area has become saturated with stores, such as Longs across the street and Walmart a little further down on Fort Street Mall. However, I guess one more store can only add to the competition. This store has only been open for a couple of weeks, so everything is so nice and clean. The merchandise is displayed in a neat and orderly fashion and I was impressed by the food choices available in the refrigerated cases and bins. Lots of choices to pick up lunch or a snack. This location also has a pharmacy, which may be a better alternative for me to pick up my prescriptions than the super busy and crazy pharmacy at Bishop St. Longs. The staff here are super friendly, available, and helpful. I could find things fairly easily. Here’s the drawback to this place: it is located right by a super busy bus stop. Granted, Bishop St. Longs is also by an equally busy bus stop, but the sidewalk in front of Longs is wider. The sidewalk in front of Walgreens is much narrower, which makes it a little more difficult and frankly, a little more uninviting to go to this location to shop. This was the same problem that the old Price Busters had when it at this location. The other drawback is that Walgreens doesn’t have the weekly deals that I am accustomed to like Longs. I could change my shopping habits, but old dogs like me find changes in shopping habits rather difficult. So, I guess the Bishop St. Longs is still my go-to place to shop unless there is something in particular that I need at Walgreens. Such a shame because I like the peaceful and clean atmosphere at Walgreens way better than the circus at Bishop St. Longs.
