Saw the great reviews so I headed here to look for local trinkets to bring back for friends and fam. Note: it’s up a flight of stairs(I walked back and forth wondering if I’d missed it!). Though I didn’t get to buy anything(didn’t quite fit who I was shopping for), the shop keeper was cordial and the goods were cute! It’s def not for the claustrophobic, as it’s pretty snug in there. If you can handle it, definitely stop by!

This cute hole in the wall store caught my eye when I was reading reviews on Unilocal.I hadn’t seen this place for a while, since I normally don’t walking — or running — up or down Koko Head Avenue. With luck would have it, I decided to check this place out, just to see what this store has to offer. It’s a quaint, but lovable and wonderful knook store that has stuff you wouldn’t really see at a well known shop. Located on Koko Head Avenue, there isn’t much parking spots to park in. Best bet would be to just park in the metered spots directly behind the complex. Or there is another parking lot next to the First Hawaiian Bank, but they charge by the ½ hour and normally is a bit more expensive. Wabi-Sabi sells whatever randomness and uniquely Hawaiian stuff you can imagine. More clothing than anything else, this store is perhaps the quinessential Hawaiian kine store that you could find whatever you need. Kinda sorta like a thrift store, but better, the service was good and found some treasures that I always had wanted, but never thought of looking online for. Even eBay didn’t have it. Shocking, I know. So, yeah, I was happy that I found what I was looking for. The service was good and I would be happy to come back, if I need something in the future. Definitely a small store, but it has a huge potential to be one of those stores that scream awesome. The lady at the store, whom was the owner(Irene) was nice and very helpful. The prices here are on par with the other establishments I have visited. I enjoyed my time here @ this boutique and hope to be back sometime soon. Everything here is made locally, so it does feel good to patronize a business that prides itself on selling locally made stuff to the masses. They have a wide selection of Cane Haul apparell, which is amazing, since I don’t typically find that brand anywhere else — not in WalMart, Macy’s, or even Sears. Maybe I am not looking for it, but I surely don’t see it when I shop there. Wabi-Sabi is one of those businesses, where you may be missing out if you don’t come here. There’s a wonderful treasure trove of random kine stuff that can catch your fancy, but for a fraction of the price, if found elsewhere. Give this place a shot and you will be glad you did! Support local! B+

Went here today to get a Cane Haul t-shirt, didn’t have the style I wanted in the size I needed but had a large selection of the shirts. Also picked up some other Christmas presents, it’s small but jam-packed with cute stuff. Got a free Cane Haul Road calendar too!

Supercute, supertiny hole-in-the-wall local giftshop off Waialae Ave in Kaimuki, with a wide selection of Cane Haul Road apparel( ) and lots of other accessories, clothing, and artsy-craftsy gifts all reflecting the Hawaiian spirit of aloha. I came here right before Christmas looking for the infamous«Club Musubi» t-shirt by Cane Haul Road. The smallest adult size of the shirt, a medium, was sold out at the time(they don’t come out in size small and the keiki sizes don’t come in that design). Fortunately, the woman working(who I later found out was the owner, Irene) told me that more should be coming in a couple of days, and she ended up calling me when they did. Since it was a Christmas present for my mom, I was very grateful! So if you’re in the area and needing da kine local Hawaiian gift for that special someone, this place is definitely worth a look(try to find street parking on Waialae, since Kilauea is one-way). Also, everything here is locally made, so support Hawaiian independent businesses and shop at this«Home of the Musubi Angel.»
