UYE Trivia Night at the Brewseum #2

I am so delayed in my review due to some health stuff but oh my goodness, what another successful night for team pleY! This UYE trivia night at Brewseum was lots of fun and I believe that is due to the amazing group we had join us. Alexander and Nadine were great hosts; Nadine greated us all with plumeria flower clips to unify the team. They helped to rally up a solid group of individuals who had the brains, wits and sense of humor to both help succeed at trivia night as well as entertain the group. We came in 2^nd again but it was damn close! I am truly proud of how much we do when we all work together. I am always a fan of drinking and games; throw in the Pearl Harbor vibe of the bar, some delicious beers and perfect bar snack food [popcorn, hot pretzels] = SOLD. I had an excellent evening. It was great to see Kristine, Peter, Cathy, Jerrae, Traci, Doug, David, Mel, etc. Peter — I will talk to Michael, we will plan this Harry Potter UYE. :) Congrats to Aunty Nadine and Mel on your wings! You guys are such champs. I forget my card every single time. Whomp Whomp. Next time! Oh & Thank you to our hosts for saving all the table space — trivia night fills up fast!
Now that team pleY has come in 2^nd twice its time for us to plan our next trivia event — third times the charm! We’ll win those free beers! ;)

Nadine and I discussed getting our wings at this event. I had my work cut out when I realized I had to get this going in order for me to make this happen. You can get a mission card that gets punched each visit. Once you’ve completed 5 you earn your gold wings becoming an Ace.
Gabriel and I arrived early. So did everyone else. Our hosts Nadine C. and Alexander G. greeted us. Glad to see Kristine C., Cathy T., David T., Doug M and Jerrae R. And always good to meet new Unilocalers Traci M. and Derek L. and his wife,
After the 5^th round of Trivia, the MC announced there were a couple of people who earned their wings tonight and out came an American Eagle in a decorated suit. Wow! When my name was called I immediately stood up with my arms held up high. Completing 5 missions and the things you had to do in those missions, it’s very hard to talk about, but I know it was for a good cause of righteousness. Nadine C. was then held up to that distinct honor too. And we both celebrated our victories. Then, for eternal prosperity, our pictures were taken. Although the ceremony is short it was impressive and glad to see it has inspired others to take up the call. You know we could always use more Aces.
The questions seemed harder than last time. I’m not making excuses because we still gave it our all and our best. Just like last time, we came in 2^nd tied with 2 other teams (that’s scary) losing 1^st place by 1 point. That’s annoying to be sure. Because of that I believe we have a stronger passion to win next time.
We can use your help and it’s a lotta fun to participate or not participate. Many of us don’t know many answers. Gabriel B. provided 3 answers to my 1. I’m proud to be his daddy but shame for my only 1 answer. LoL. Anyways, you can help out by attending the next UYE Trivia night. Give us your brain power. Before you do you should visit there 4 times. On your first visit get the punch card then make sure you get it punched each time you visit. Then, on the night we plan our victorious domination of trivia night, the UYE night, let them know that is your 5^th visit to get the ceremonious dedication of your hard earned Wing joining a special elite class of individuals; brave, bold and honor. Trivia and beer? Count me in!
I was excited to finally see the Brewseum. I’ve been wanting to see this place for awhile and what better reason but to join team pleY ( Unilocal spelt backwards) on trivia night.
As soon as I walked it, I was completely intrigued by the décor. Every inch of the bar was reminiscent of each military branch. Such a delight to the eyes. I had to refrain myself from trying to take photos of every wall, corner, nook and cranny.
Team pleY was in full effect. I believe we had the largest team there… way to represent! I took a look at the menu which consists of beer and wine… aaahh, no jack and coke?! The waitress suggested some ales and boy were they good! I had to pineapple and ginga ninja. It was delicious, I had to control myself being I worked the next day. The food menu is short and simple. They serve four cheese or pepperoni pizza and I believe a certain sandwich. I’m a pizza fan so I stopped reading once I saw pizza.lol.
With ale in one hand and free unlimited popcorn, it was trivia time, let’s get it on! Trivia consisted of 6 rounds of 10 questions. Team with the most correct answers… ding, ding, ding, will be the «winnahs»! It was a lot of fun. The questions really gets you thinking and some makes you question if it’s the right answer because it «seems» like an easy question. Team pleY placed second yet it was a win to me, being able to meet new people, great drinks, laughter and just an awesome night spent with awesome people!

This is just one example of the very challenging questions at the Brewseum’s weekly Trivia Night. Held every Wednesday, this was Team pleY’s second attempt at the championship…
We came in 2^nd place AGAIN. Déjà vu! This time, there was a 3-​way tie for 2^nd place. To top it off, there was just ONE point between 1^st and 2^nd place! AGAIN!
Co-​Host, Alexander G. & I wish to thank everyone for attending our UYE. It was the FIRST UYE for Traci & Rachel (new Elite) — so nice to meet them in Real Life and friend them on Unilocal!They fit right in with our regulars: Cathy, Doug, Miss Bee, David, Kristine, Paul, Mel, Ed, Jerrae, and Peter. Each team member played a big part in our success — whether they were a «brain» or a «cheerleader», providing valuable moral and positive support! You all are truly appreciated!
NOTES:
Mel said, «Third time’s a charm.» Which means that «WE WILL BE BACK!» How about next month (July)?
Peter’s camouflage shorts were very appropriate!
Gabriel and Mel’s Army caps were perfect!
RANDOM THOUGHTS:
Maybe the matching «Thinking Caps» worn by Alexander and Matt (the ringer from Pennsylvania) and the plumeria flowers worn by the gals weren’t enough. Next time, how about we all wear Unilocal-​red shirts and camouflauge-​print shorts/​slacks?
SPECIAL AWARD: Traci — for being the most friendliest, bravest Yeep. She found us, introduced herself to us, and attended even though she didn’t have the holiday (King Kamehameha Day) the next day! Excellent!
CONGRATULATIONS to Mel B. for completing 5 Missions and achieving his Wing at the special ceremony before the last question was answered! He now has his photo on the Wall of Fame!

Trivia night at the brewseum. Almost amazing as you think about that one. Some of these questions were hard and just random!
This UYE was organized by Nadine C and Alexander G and it was a nice respite after a challenging day at the office, heading off into a day off of work, affectionately known as Kamehameha Day. I thought that the ambiance was quite cozy and intimate, but loud enough to where you kind of have to shout to others, especially when you need to get something across. The entire trivia game spanned 6 rounds and 60 questions each. In the end, team Unilocal lost 1^st place by 1 vote. Maybe I should have joined the smart side of the table next time. Will there be a next time? The overall event was decent, almost like watching a sports team win the big one with friends and beer. I had a nice time. Can’t complain.
This UYE is located at the Brewseum, which is located at 901 Waimanu Street in Ka’aako. Nearby is Sports Authority and the Neal Blaisedell Center — both on Ward Avenue. I didn’t know that trivia games can last 4 freaking hours, but apparently, this one does. The actual trivia game started at 6pm, so there was about an hour of ordering drinks and mingling with other Unilocal friends. I got there at 5:20pm and the place was packed. I felt out of place since I came straight from work. It took me about 5 minutes before I spotted Unilocal extraordinaire Cathy T and Nadine C near the bar area. It was my first time at the brewseum, so I didn’t know what to really expect. Maybe just a good time with Unilocal friends and an escape from the office after a challenging day. Once I got into the groove of the atmosphere, it was nice to settle into the moment and enjoy the upcoming tournament. In retrospect, I wished I was a contributing part of team Unilocal.Oh well, next time! The admission to this UYE was free, since I didn’t buy anything from the bar.
Some of the questions in the trivia tournament were downright random and challenging, yet others were easy and some others were moderately hard, but made you scratch your head. I probably have made some successful guesses and some that were wrong. I did like the last round, where I got 5 out of the 10. The highlight of the evening was when a dude dressed in an eagle costume was introduced to the crowd and awarded a couple of team Unilocal peeps souvenir wings. I thought that was super awesome! In the end, I was told that we lost the top spot by one lousy point, which was disheartening and disappointing, but it was nice to play this game and be apart of it all. It was a good evening to be out and about on a Wednesday evening.
It was nice to meet new Unilocal friends, as usual. Seeing the usual suspects Is great too. Nice seeing Cathy T, David T, and Paul C at the Brewseum. Thanks much to David T for helping me with the ride home after the event. :)

Congratulations on making 2^nd place, team pleY! What an amazing crowd! There’s nothing more brilliant than having all the quick-​witted human beings in one place where you can eat, laugh, drink and think while coming up with answers to these rather complex and eclectic array of trivia questions. Thank you beautiful Auntie Nadine and handsome Alexander for holding this fun soirée at The Brewseum. Everyone looked festive with plumeria flowers and Alexander, Matt, Mel and the little one looked great in their thinking caps!
Congratulations Nadine and Mel for officially getting your wings last night! It was so nice to see Jerrae, Doug, Ed and Brigitte, Peter C., Traci, David and Cathy. Having the opportunity to meet new friends is always so wonderful. I do see a «To be continued.» in the future to break this 2^nd place streak. I need 4 more stamps to get my wings!

I’m not good at trivia. My mind doesn’t store information that well. For those reasons I’m not a great candidate for trivia night. However, I enjoy spending time with my fellow Yeeps and enjoyed myself at the last trivia night so when I saw this post I did my best to attend this UYE.
Schedule was hectic but I arrived shortly before 7pm to find a jam packed Brewseum filled with many peeps. I immediately saw co-​host Nadine C. with a plumeria in her hair. As I walked in I was warmly greeted by Miss B (Brigitte S) who welcomed me with a big hug.
Glancing at the table I saw Ed L, David T, Cathy T, Peter C, Jerrae R, Doug M, Mel B, Kristine C and co-​host Alexander G. Despite the loud noise I was able to converse with several Yeeps.
During my stay I’m embarrassed to report I didn’t get an answers correct. Dang! Questions were very difficult
Due to previous engagement I couldn’t stay long so I walked away disappointed as I didn’t get one answer correct. Oh well, that’s the way the ball rolls.
Overall, another great UYE planned by our co-​hosts!
