Touch Mini Day Spa

Once again, a great facial at Touch! Also, I bought my mother her first ever facial for Christmas and she loved it — afterwards she kept saying, «feel my face, it’s so smooth» and I was like, «I don’t wanna caress your face Mom». :-) So this review counts for my mother as well: 2 sets of 5 stars! Happy New Year!

I would literally give Melyssa 10 stars if I could! I will not go anywhere else for waxing or facials. Her waxing is quick and she does my brows perfectly! I trust her so much that I took my teenage daughter to see her for her first brow waxing appointment and they look great! I also took my husband for his first facial and he loved it! Not only do I love the way my skin looks and feels, I actually get compliments about my complexion from friends and family after I see her. My fave is the Oxygen facial. love :)

Touch Mini Day Spa– why can’t you be in LA? If Touch Mini Day Spa was in LA I would start going there as my monthly facial regimen! Ask for Jodi– she’s got healing hands for any face.

My facial was amazing. Very relaxing! I took my sister with me and she was in the other room getting the same treatment. Space is small, but once you’re in there and the lights are dimmed with the music on, you can’t help but almost drift off to sleep. I love the mud mask Melissa used at the end, and the neck and shoulder massage. Great job, ladies!

Mel rocks! Her facials are just absolute heaven. She’s located just above Tenkaippin in Kapahulu. Make an appointment with her by calling. She is so awesome and sweet.
The facials feel sooO good and you look fabulous after you leave. It was so relaxing and you get a nice massage from your head to your fingertips.
Parking can be tight in the back by Jamba & Starbucks, so plan to get their early so you can find yourself a stall. Plan to get your hair pulled out of your face, so maybe bring a headband or something. Go see Mel… your face will thank you!

Ok, so I usually don’t like to post bad reviews. But I’m SO upset from my waxing yesterday. I can’t speak for Melissa’s facials and massages but my eyebrow waxing was HORRENDOUS.
I went into the spa very hopeful because of all the good reviews and the recommendation by my stylist. The spa is small but relaxing, you go into the room and lie down on a comfortable bed and there’s music and dim lighting. So I was relaxed. I distinctly remember telling Melissa «I want it natural, just get rid of the strays.» That is exactly what I said. At NO time did I say I wanted a reshaping, which is what she did in the end. I don’t know about others but «natural» means I want my eyebrows to be kept in their original shape, like what I was born with, like from nature.
So back to the waxing, everything was going well, she chatted me up and I told her that my wedding was in two weeks. WEDDING. That should have clicked in her brain that this girl would NOT want a complete and drastic reshaping of the brows, right?! Why would I do that?
Anyway, she does the hot wax and strips. It hurt a little but not terribly, since I’ve done professional waxing before. Then she goes to town with the scissors. I’m like, ok, she’s just trimming a little, that’s ok. I have naturally full eyebrows (which I wanted to KEEP). Then she trims and trims and trims, by the time I think to say something, she stops. Ok, now I think, it’s too late anyway. I start to get nervous. Then she waxes my lip, that’s no problem.
Then she’s like, ok done, now look in the mirror. Horror of horrors, my brows are completely reshaped, NOT natural, TOO thin and trimmed to the point where they are SO sparse. I love my arches and my fullness and both were completely gone. Like any good Asian, I hid my anger and disappointment.
Then she says, oh I can use a pencil to fill my brows in. PENCIL?! I never had to use a pencil, and now you’ve gone and killed my brows to the point where you are actually advising me to use a pencil?!
Then she says one eyebrow is shorter than another. Ok, that is because you trimmed and waxed them to that point!
She says that she thinned the beginning of my arches to «open up my eyes.» DID I TELL YOU TO DO THAT? NO. I am so angry.
So now I look like a circus freak. I went home yesterday from the appointment and cried my eyes out. My wedding is in two weeks and now I am completely screwed. I gave it a day to get used to the brows but now I am convinced they are NOT me. They don’t fit my face! There was total lack of judgment on her part and on my part for foolishly going to her two weeks before my wedding.
Oh and to top it all off, I have THREE raw patches right under my left brow from where she ripped the skin off.
I look at her brows and figured out that she gave me her brows! They may fit her face, but NOT MINE. She did not listen to what I wanted, and that is the worst thing you can do to a customer.
I know my brows will grow, but in time? I would not have cared otherwise because I know brows grow back. But the timing of this disaster adds to my already stressed self with the wedding. I think I’ve learned my lesson.

Of the many places I’ve been for facials, Melyssa at Touch Mini Day Spa is one of the best!
From the minute you walk in, there’s a zen like feel… the mood lighting, the scent of Yonka permeating in the air… Yonka products are fabulous!
Other than a fabulous facial, Mel gives the most amazing massage. Hands, shoulders, head… BLISS! I always, always end up falling asleep during a facial. Love it! Love Touch Mini Day Spa!
I just need to be better at scheduling a facial more often.

I’m kind of embarrassed to say that I actually got a facial from Mellissa. Big props to Mel and her staff as the overall experience was enlightening and very educational for a very skeptikal male who was reluctant to get a facial. I have since tried 2 other mini day spas and was very dissappointed as they lack the genuine service that Mel provided and because of Mel’s individual attention I will have to say that she has gained me as a lifetime customer.
If you are a macho male like how I was please believe its a very humbling experience. Males have been giving women facials from the dawn of time… its now their turn.

The ladies at Touch Spa are the BEST. Melyssa and Mahina give the most thorough and relaxing facials, complete with a neck, shoulder, arm and hand massage. And after your hand massage, they place them in hand warmers while they do their magic on your face. I think the product that they use, called Yonka, is of superior quality. I love the scent and my sensitive skin doesn’t break out after. In fact, it feels so velvety smooth and completely moisturized I just feel amazing after my one hour heavenly experience.
Their pricing is unbelievably reasonable for the time, quality, and product used. $ 65 for a spa facial is unheard of and SO worth it.
