Got a craving to hang out with some friends and smoke hookah. After reading some reliable reviews, we decided to check out the Burning Tree. At first glance, the appearance of the building seemed sketched. I mean there is a caterpillar smoking and leaning on a mushroom with an Allison in Wonderland theme. We walked around to Beretania for the entrance and climb some stairs to final enter the building. We were immediately greeted by the staff and seated. The place is BYOB! We brought some tasty drinks and choose double green apple and mint chocolate chip(as suggested by the staff). It was great. The thing I love the most about this place is it is very laid back and you can sit outside under the stars. It was very peaceful. Definitely going back!

I’m not a huge hookah gal but this place has a very chill, relaxed atmosphere on the rooftop. Hookah is decently priced, especially when you have 4 – 5 people and it’s a fun place to hang out in the evening. Did I mention BYOB? Score!

Came here once with my husband couple years ago and we loved it. He mentioned how he always wanted to throw a party in their back room so this year I figured I’d throw him a surprise party there. I called on Monday asking if they had the room available for Saturday and what the prices were. $ 10/hr per person. Cool, he asked my name and was about to hang up. «So do we just show up at anytime?» He asked what time, and I told him 8. So he said everything was set. I should have known better when he didn’t bother to ask what time or get my number for the reservation. At that point I was just happy they had space since I planned it so last minute. Saturday rolls around and I told 3 of my friends to get there early to set up. Then I get a phone call saying there’s a problem. The place isn’t even open. Doors locked, nobody answering the phone. I have 16 people driving aimlessly as I’m telling them that burning tree is shut d. I’m frantically trying to call other places to see if anybody has a room for a party of almost 20 on a saturday night, all while trying to keep my husband from finding out what’s going on. I called Hookahhookah Hawaii and asked them if they had any space for us(it’s an open lounge with no rooms) and they said to come down now and they would hold the space for us. It was a little hot in there but they completely saved the day. They were actually cheaper than The Burning Tree anyway and the lounge although hot, was a lot nicer. When I think about it, I should have called earlier that day to confirm, but the last thing I ever expected was everyone to show up to a closed lounge. Trying to get their number itself was a complete hassle. The number on Unilocal and on the internet isn’t the correct one. You have to find their facebook for the number. I really liked this place, but can’t help but be a little bitter after all the inconvenience of last night. Definitely call multiple times if you ever decide to have a party here.

Made reservations here for my birthday. Confirmed. Showed up with over 15 people and they were closed. No consideration whatsoever for the customer. I loved this place before, but will never visit again. Thanks for ruining my birthday guys. A simple courtesy call that you wouldn’t have been open would’ve been nice. Aloha

Best hookah lounge in town! arrived on a sunday night at 930pm — 4 people cost: $ 10 an hour + $ 3 sheesha + $ 3.00 coconut coals Music mix is bomb! Great music. BYOB — bring your own openers and a deck of cards :) parking lot was empty when we arrived. they do offer snacks and juice, but bring your own, itll be cheaper. this place is so awesome, its really a chill spot. they are open everyday till 2 am. the owner is super chill and fast service.

Went to Hookahookah yesterday, but actually heard about Burning Tree first so I decided to try it here anyway. There’s indoor and outdoor seating, which is nice. It’s on top of the roof, view is okay. Music is pretty loud inside. Overall, I’d say this place is just okay. Staff checks on you every now and then, but don’t talk story with you or anything like that. They also kind of assume that you know what you’re doing with the hookah. Luckily the staff at Hookahookah taught me how to clear out the pipe and stuff like that, but I’m sure the staff here will help if you ask. Prices here are slightly less, being $ 10/hour for the pipe and $ 7-$ 10 per bowl depending on the flavor. Their credit card machine was broken, which really screwed me over because I had no cash. A huge disappointment, especially because the staff did not inform us of this problem before serving us, which is common courtesy of any restaurant or bar. This was my main issue with this place. Parking is just as bad as Hookahookah’s. Probably won’t be returning here.

Soooooooo chill. I love coming to the Burning Tree. It must be the best hookah place on Oahu. There are a few reasons why I love this hookah lounge: 1. Outdoor seating!!! Yes! Other hookah lounges on the mainland don’t offer outdoor seating and I hate when it gets hot and stuffy. The Burning Tree is the best. 2. Selection of flavors. Literally so many you could try a new flavor each time you come for months. I love expanding my hookah flavor palette! 3. Staff! All of my encounters have been friendly and helpful. Also really knowledgable about which flavors to pick when you’re feeling indecisive. 4. Bubbles! What more can I say? Although I hate when a bubble pops on my phone because it’s so sticky but they’re still so much fun.

Very sketchy at first but it’s on the second floor and there’s a terrace so don’t worry. There’s a quite a few hookahs and it’s outside so it might be a little windy but good music and the people are nice. They have a great variety to choose from, my favorites passion fruit and white gummy. Great place to chill but don’t chill too long cause they charge by the hour plus the shisha itself. It’s byob so bring your drinks but beer and wine only. They have a few drinks and food but more like snacks. They do card to smoke and drink so don’t forget an ID. But either than that it’s great!

I always come here because I love smoking hookah :) It’s 18+ &BYOB. I prefer to sit outside only because it’s breezy and cool. When inside, it could get stuffy but you may prefer sitting in so you can do tricks. Whatever suits your preference, they offer both options. They also have two private rooms(one w/a minimum of 5 people & the bigger one with a minimum of at least 8 people). The bigger room has AC& it’s own bathroom, so you’ll have much more of a private, hookah experience. The downside is even with AC, the rooms could get stuffy. I love the atmosphere the most. I think that’s why I travel so often to town(even though I live all the way in Ewa Beach). Coming here is worth it because they have great flavors, friendly workers & it’s a great, quick getaway for me. So far I’ve tried a handful of flavors, but I like the ones that are sweet & smooth. If that’s what you’re looking for, I recommend Strawberry Margarita :)

What I like about this place is that they have an outdoor seating area, most of the other places here on Oahu are indoor only. I have been to a lot of hookah lounges on the mainland and this place provides the same environment. Shisha was good and byob makes it even better :)

French inhale, o-rings, Cheerios, ghost inhale. Any of these sound familiar to you? If you love vaping or going to hookah bars, this is the place for you. Although a bunch of other hookah bars have opened, The Burning Tree has always been my favourite. A year or two ago, they weren’t as popular, but now if you walk in on a weekday night, you’re welcomed with a waiting list! :(I can’t blame them though. Of all the places I’ve tried, I feel that their shisha is a lot more unique and better variety. My two favourites: Gummi Bear and Queen of Sex, yumm. Service: 4 stars. Really friendly guys who are always attentive. There’s always that one awesome guy who will play his guitar and sing for us. Thanks to him, the song«Kiss Me, I’m Shitfaced» is on my playlist. He once offered to have us try this limited shisha imported from India, on the house! Nice! Atmosphere: 3.5 stars. It’s on the roof, so it is partly outdoors. Be sure to avoid rainy nights. That may be a hassle if for those who love showing off their smoke tricks. They also have private rooms or tables in the shop where they sell pipes, bongs, incense, shisha, coals, whatever satisfies your smoking needs. Price: well worth the price. For private rooms, it’s $ 10/person If you’re looking for something to do, try a hookah bar. It’s BYOB, so have fun!

It was raining but we decided to sit outside. The seats and tables were a little bit wet but they had tents, so no biggie. We bought some beer from times and brought it over since you can BYOB here, which is pretty cool. We had the sex panther shisha. It tasted really good! They have a load of flavors to choose from and after staying an hour, it only costed us 18 dollars. They have these plastic mouth pieces so you can blow out of your own individual one instead of sharing the same pipe and potentially spreading herpes. They also provide a cardboard tube with soapy water so you can blow some cool smokey, bubbles. They play a variety of music and the staff was very friendly. It was tough to find street parking on a Friday night, but we parked pretty close. This place can be a bit hard to find, it’s literally right next to champions. You just walk up a flight of stairs and you’re right there. By the time 10 o clock came rolling around, there was a line of people waiting for seats. A friend of mine said it’s always packed on a Friday night. So if you decide to head out there on a weekend, plan to be there early. Or make a reservation.

Been years since I quit smoking regular cigarettes. The Hookah bar is something my homies turned me onto during my trip to LA a few years ago. My friend and I stopped at The Burning Tree before a sports shoot the other day and it was as I expected. Dark, dank and well, smoky,(only fitting) which is much more appealing than their prior locale in Kaimuki. Apple martini shisha on the burner and like Gandalf, we went to town. It was my friend’s first time smoking this style of flavored smoky goodness, so he took it easy(I kept on telling him, «Dude, its like smoking incense candy» lol). Bueno. More smoke for this bloke! The soundtrack in there was quite interesting. Ranging from Tribe Called Quest to tracks off Radiohead’s «Insomniac» album. No matter, we were there to relax before heading out to the Iolani Classic. $ 20.82(plus tip to the kind sir) for 2 lungs, and out. To get an idea of their wide array of flavors: *Note: Their location is a bit hard to spot from the street(corner of Keeamoku and Beretainia). We, in fact, missed it the first spin around. I suggest heading east on Young Street and hang that left driveway right before you hit Keeamoku. Through the very end of driveway/parking lot, building to the left, look upstairs for the TBT sign and you’re there. Right above Champions Sports Bar & Grill. 4 stars The Burning Tree

Tiny parking lot, right next to Champions. You walk upstairs and to the *covered* open outside smoking area(helpful when the rain started coming down), or you can choose to sit inside. They also have VIP rooms for reservation if you’d like. The husband and I sat outside, $ 10 an hour + the cost of the shisha. The staff was super friendly and awesome. Helped us set up and get the smoke going. BYOB! They take card. They are open until late and right next to Koreamoku.

I mean, where else in Hawaii can you go to smoke hookah besides going to a friends house? I used to go to the location on Waialae but they moved to the old E-topia on Beretania, right next to Champions. This location is way better since its closer to my house. The lounge itself is interesting. There’s a lanai with a tent to block the rain with several tables set up for guests. They have bigger rooms for parties of 6 or more that you can use as well. The workers there are very on it. It wasn’t that crowded, my bf and I managed to scoop the last table and before we could sit, they were bringing a hookah, we already knew what flavor we wanted and within a few minutes, our bowl was loaded and coals were hot. It’s ten dollars and hour to rent the hookah and the shisha ranges from $ 7-$ 10 dollars depending on type and flavor. Chill place, BYOB, they check ID at the door so yeah. and they have live music.

Hard to find a hookah lounge in Honolulu as most of the information online is dated. The place is open and has a chill atmosphere. Groups of people just hanging out. Took ten minutes to get the hookah but it’s good. BYOB!
