We were so hungry we had to order a variety to share. And because the portions are large! Family style worked out perfectly. Waffles are made fresh, and not soggy at all. The fried rice is my absolute fave. So much great flavor and the over easy egg blanket over my mound of deliciousness only made me want to keep eating.

Let me set the bar correctly for what you will get at The Breakfast Club. What You Will NOT Get: –Flowers and champagne –Sparkling water options of any kind –Linen tablecloths –Fancy waiters in tuxedos –Amuse bouche. You will definitely NOT be getting this. –The feeling of being whisked away to an international luxury destination –Unicorns or miniature ponies with horns glued to their heads –Any of the 80s celebrities from the movie«The Breakfast Club»(I know, I was bummed about this too) What You WILL Get: –A dark stairwell that leads you up to who knows what! Can you really trust Unilocal with your safety? Oh wait, YES you can… –A really upbeat host/waiter dressed in jeans and a t-shirt. I’m a super upbeat and positive person, but man, that guy kicked my butt in the happy game this morning! –Stickiness. You know what I mean. –Several varieties of awesome locally made hot sauces. Try Da Ringa Stinger! –Greasy spoon food which will surely clog your arteries and make you wish you had chosen to get a green smoothie instead. But boy, that corned beef hash was a guilty pleasure for the ages. –Community ketchup. We passed our ketchup to the next table and they passed it back to us. –Multiple TVs playing everything from sports to the Charlie’s Angels movie –The feeling of eating in a dark sports bar and wondering how you ended up here because you’d much rather be whisked away to an international luxury destination In short, The Breakfast Club = A totally divey breakfast experience! It’s not my flavor so please don’t let my personal preferences dissuade you from having what I can only phrase as a truly«unique» dining experience. Basically, we ate breakfast in a sports bar this morning and as long as you come mentally prepared for this you will have a good time! I was not mentally prepared for this and wish I had gone to yoga instead. Order the Bender sandwich if you’re into meat and cheese and the corned beef hash with hash browns, but be prepared for the imminent food coma to follow…

Tried the off the menu special– Tito’s two eggs, WOW, delicious and very filling. Three pancakes, Chorizo, 2pieces of Bacon, 2 eggs, 2 pieces of toast. Food coma/Kanak Attack is coming on to me after this meal. Chili flake butter and Vanilla syrup was something new for my pancakes. Love it!

I feel so cool. SOCOOL for having the opportunity to try this place before they leave. Yes, unfortunately The Breakfast Club will no longer be in operation beginning sometime in February. Apparently, the building is being torn down soon and a condominium will be constructed. Boo. Obviously I stumbled onto this place using my handy dandy Unilocal mobile app. Thanks, Unilocal!I was searching for a quick breakfast place in the ala moana area and saw that this place had a solid 5 star review. I needed to try it. I saw the sign on the Kapiolani Blvd sidewalk and turned into the small parking area, didn’t see anymore signage and got to Kona St. thinking I was crazy and/or blind. I found metered parking on Kona Street and walked back through the parking lot to check it out. Thanks to the photos on Unilocal,I recognized the«sketchy stairs» that lead up to the bar/breakfast club. After passing the stacks of empty beer bottles, we were greeted by the very friendly chef. I was surprised to find that there were several people enjoying their breakfasts. The menu is simple and you can pretty much customize orders to have whatever your little heart desires. I suggest also coming with a friend so that you can try a little of everything. My dad got The Sporto: bacon, chorizo, portuguese sausage, and eggs with rice AND hash browns. I wanted to try the freshly made corned beef hash, so I ordered the«2 egg» breakfast that comes with your choice of breakfast meat and starch. I like my eggs and corned beef hash with rice, but I also wanted to try the sweet bread with chili butter. Luckily, my dad let me have some rice :) It was perfect. Everything was cooked perfectly; my eggs were perfectly sunny and the sweet bread with chili butter was obviously amazing. I had a couple bites of chorizo and portuguese sausage, too. The chef also makes his own chili sauce, if you’re into that sort of thing. I’m so sad this place is closing. You only have a couple more weeks to try it out!

One morning we were looking for a breakfast spot to hit up. So we checked Unilocal and noticed this hot and new business the breakfast club. It was highly rated but there were only a handful of reviews so we were a bit skeptical about it but decided to try it anyway. The restaurant, which looks like it doubles as a bar for the evenings, is tucked away upstairs. We arrived around 10am. I can imagine the foot traffic is slim to none. As we walked up to the restaurant I hear a man talking to a little girl on the phone. As we reach the top, a gentleman dressed in chef clothes looking at his phone is saying«yes I can hear you. Can you hear me?» and the conversation continues as he beckons us into the restaurant. We enter and the chef walks into the kitchen. The place is empty aside one chef and one server and us. The server immediately greets us. He was super energetic nice and helpful as this was out first visit. He ran us thru the specials and his particular favorites and even a few«off the menu» specials. We ordered the corned beef hash, the spardo and our server convinced us to order the hand cut fries with homemade gravy. The food took a while to come out but it’s to be expected with quality food and only one cook. I would say upwards of about 30 minutes. But our server hooked us up with a game of pool as we waited. The hand cut fries and the heavy was delicious and the sporto was alright. But the corned beef hash was the star. They used nice quality hashbrowns and probably the best quality corned beef that I have ever seen. The dish was amazing. Over my experience with this place deserves a 5 star rating. Even tho we were the only customers and the food did take a little while. The service and the food went above and beyond my expectation. I will definitely be back.

While looking for a spot to eat breakfast on Unilocal my husband and I came across The Breakfast Club. The place is pretty easy to find if you use GPS. Also once you get to the place you can park in any of the reserved stalls. It is located in the upstairs incase you are like me & was looking around for it on the first floor! The food was great! Some of the dishes are named after the characters in the 80’s movie«The Breakfast Club». I got the«Basket Case» and my husband order«The Sporto». Both meals were very tasty. They tasted fresh & homemade. You can tell that someone actually cooked them from scratch and that they use local ingredients(plus LOVE!) Like another reviewer mentioned it is a pop-up so check it our while you can!

So first of all, the location of this spot seems a little sketchy but just give it a shot. They have a full bar with 1 pool table and many flat screen TV’s. The food isn’t half bad, the dishes are made from scratch so I appreciate the amount of dedication and effort it takes. They have a fairly extensive menu with many delicious options, although unfortunately they were out of the fresh catch of the day. No biggie. I decided to get the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs, and fried rice.($ 10) for it all, not bad and it was tasty. Only complaint I have is that the fried rice was a little salty. I definitely could have used some kimchee to cut through all that sodium flavor.(Koreans know that kimchee is a palate cleanser.) Overall, I think if this place was opened at night they would do very well, especially with the drunk folks. The food is your typical, I’m hammerd and I want some comfort food. I’ll be back again. Although if you’re going to try it, go now because it is a pop up location and they’ll be gone by March.

Easily the best meal I’ve had in Waikiki so far, enough that I’m breaking my self imposed rule about eating somewhere a few time before reviewing. Wandered over here based on Unilocal reviews and they sure did not lead me wrong! This place is awesome and freshly opened. The staff was super sweet and attentive. The coffee was really good. I kept it simple with a two egg breakfast plate. Came with a choice of two sides, I chose chorizo sausage and, on staff recommendation, Hawaiian sweet bread with a spicy butter. It was so good! I ordered my eggs over medium, which almost never comes out right, but Cody made them perfectly! Nice gooey yokes without runny whites, yum! The sweet bread they use is a taro bread and, with the spiced butter, was wonderfully balanced. I’m going to drag my brother back here to try something else while I’m here and get him hooked since he lives here. Wishing you guys great luck! It’s not fancy, but for good, honest food I couldn’t recommend a place more.

This place is amazeballs!!! The food is so good you can’t decide what to eat. The Basket Case French Toast is like crack to me. But I also love the Sporto and let’s not forget The Bender with gravy fries. A must do for weekday breakfast or lunch.
