Strolling around Ward Centre, I came upon T&C Surf, a surf shop in which I haven’t been to in years. They have multiple locations on Oahu which serves it’s purpose just fine. T&C has their own exclusive line of clothing both for men and women. They also carry brands such as RVCA, Hurley, Billabong, just to name a few. I was just browsing real quick, checking stuff out. It’s a nice store in which they got some gear for the skaters too. For me, it’s like if you’ve been to a surf shop, you been to’em all. The workers were cool, I got greeted once I walked in. I’m giving this place 3 stars only because nothing seemed to excite me. In addition to clothing, I did see a section for Hydro Flasks and GoPro accessories. If I had the time I might’ve bought a T&C shirt but other than that it’s all good.

I went in here looking for some t-shirts to bring back to California. As I was perusing their goods and walked from the board leashes to the body boards when I heard the store manager call out«Call security, I just saw him steal a board leash.» From the store manager. Now I am a corporate professional on vacation in Hawaii and I have never been accused of shoplifting. This was definitely surprising to say the least. I was wearing board shorts and a tank top so not many places to steal a 15 $ board leash. She asked what was in my pocket and I showed her my wallet. I can get pretty livid but I calmly controlled my anger. She walked away apologizing not to my face but her t-shirt wall indicating that she was indeed carefree about how she treated a potential customer. Her excuse was that someone stole a skateboard, but really to compare that to every potential customer and just blow them off, that is just unprofessional. Being that said this was the store manager. I used to love T&C but now they are on my list of stores that I refuse to shop at. I will be writing a formal complaint to corporate to really show that customers do not need to be treated like criminals who spend their honest dollars at a store that does not appreciate repeat business. It’s not that I don’t understand shoplifting and store loss but really it was the way the store manager handled the situation. No true apology and more a I don’t give a rat’s *** about customer service and being truly apologetic. If I could give this store 0 stars I would. I don’t know how this particular store got best of Hawaii 2015. Bring your dollars to an appreciative store and be treated like a customer not a thief.
