The bibimbap is fresh, lots of veggies, and the egg is fried all the way through(a major plus for me, I don’t like runny eggs). The only drawback is there really isn’t anywhere to eat there(it’s so tiny you’ll likely wait outside for your order), but I just take it back to the office anyway.

Date Visited: 12/30/2015 Service: Called to make a phone order(808−550−8989) and arrived to pick up my food 10 minutes later. I walked up to the counter, paid, and waited another 5 minutes. The guy was very nice and friendly, he even told me to have a happy New Year. Food & Pricing: today was my first time eating here and I ordered the udon and tekka maki. The maki was yummy and not too pricey at $ 2.59. The udon, although not pricey either, wasn’t too tasty. I probably wouldn’t order it again but there’s lots on the menu to try. Final Verdict: I work nearby so this place is super convenient. I will be back :)

Unilocal 100 Review Challenge 2015: 124⁄100 No no no! I was totally looking forward to Sushi & Bibimbap which has been bookmarked on my Unilocal since I started working in downtown. So when my coworker asked what I was craving, I suggested Sushi & Bibimbap for lunch. Oh how I regret suggesting this place to my coworker… We ate outside Sushi & Bibimbap where there were a few tables. Bad idea because there was tons of flies and other little insects that committed suicide in our meal throughout our lunch! But that wasn’t even the worst part… We ordered: –Lion King Roll: The Lion King Roll was very hot in temperature and even when I waited for it to cool down it remained hot. The rice was hard and the baked salmon was bland. My coworker and I had a piece each then tossed it. –Sweet Honey Roll: The Sweet Honey Roll was the saving grace. It isn’t the best shrimp tempura roll I’ve ever had but it was large, filling and tasted the best of the 3 items we purchased. –Yaki Udon: The Yaki Udon was spicy. TOO spicy! My coworker is Korean and half-way through the Yaki Udon he threw in the towel. The taste and spiciness was just not worth it. Total= ~$ 30 Both rolls came with ginger, wasabi,(one) shoyu packet and a salad while all orders came with miso soup. The miso soup was so disappointing and bland that only 1 of 3 miso soups were drunk… the rest went to the trash. Because the Sweet Honey Roll roll wasn’t horrible I would give their other(raw) rolls a chance but from this experience, I just wasted time, money and FOOD. P. S. Couldn’t locate a trashcan around the area.

Came here for dinner tonight. The crunch roll was a little bland for my taste, but the roll was large and for less than $ 8, it was a filling meal. The roll came with soup and a nicley dressed salad. Although not the most flavorful meal, it was filling for dining on a budget.

This place has excellent food. As a non-local here for work, I assumed it would be like a normal sushi roll and so I also ordered the ahi poke salad. Um no, one sushi roll is a meal. They are huge. I basically wasted the other meal because I was so full. I got the Hawaiian roll and it was excellent. I would definitely return, but only order 1 roll this time… ooops.

I use to always love getting lunch there but now they are getting stingy with their portions. Some of The pictures they show you on the door is really half of what they really give you now on the plate lunches for the same price. They should at least change the pictures if they will not give you what they advertise. I am giving 3 stars because i still love their sushi there.

I like this place a lot! For 3 big hand rolls and a coke were under $ 8. Spicy ahi is very good. The people are nice. Once I came from the gym and I guess I was super sweaty and the guy at the register gave me some paper towels probably because he didn’t want me sweating in his little tiny counter area but I thought it was a kind gesture. I usually pick up food around 2 to beat the crazy lunch crowd. There can be long lines.

Good place to get bi bim bap and they also have a large selection of sushi to pick from. They also have plate lunches and on Tuesdays Japchae is the special.

Stopped by to grab a plate lunch while I was out running errands. I didn’t have to wait in line, and the posters on the walls and door looked inviting and offered a good variety of things. I got the katsu tempura plate lunch with edamame, which was a good choice. The katsu was big and I ate the whole thing– no sad fatty bits on the ends! Both shrimp tempura were fabulously fried, crispy and were hefty shrimp. You get a handful of edamame without seasoning, some plain lettuce with vinaigrette and topped with raw onions(no thanks). If you don’t want edamame you can choose kimchee. The rice was well done and sprinkled with some furikake. You also get little tubs of ketchup and tempura dipping broth. Satisfying lunch for $ 8. I think I’d like to try their sushi rolls– they looked really good on the poster. #100in2015(#46)

Yay for new sushi places with a variety of sushi rolls. I have tried a few different maki rolls and temaki(hand rolls) and they have fun names that I can’t remember right now. I will update once I go back — and I will go back soon. Other offerings include bibimbap(duh — it’s in the name) and they have fried noodles, standard asian themed plate lunches and all kinds of other concoctions. The place is tiny. There’s only enough room for one or two people to stand inside to place their order. Everyone is standing outside relaying the orders that are being called from inside. There are a few tables outside. It’s a nice little corner of town that’s a nice break from work. And the staff there are just too cute — a bunch of older asian ladies cooking and rolling sushi. I love the mom & pop vibe.

Oooh, I haven’t given a business five stars in quite a while, but Sushi & Bibimbap certainly deserves it! The venue is small and does not accommodate any room for seating, but there are outside seating areas that they adorn with small flowers. It’s a nice touch and they really don’t need to do it, but you can tell that they care about quality. Speaking of quality, their food is of great quality — especially for the price that they offer it at. Talk about affordable! Not only is their food affordable, their menu has a wide variety of food, from the obvious bibimbap to a huge range of sushi rolls, they have plate lunches from chicken, shrimp, spicy ahi, to curry. It is very difficult to get tired of eating at Sushi & Bibimbap, simply because you can never eat every thing off oft their menu enough times to tire of them. The owners and employees have never really conversed with me, but I can tell that they are grateful for every single customer that comes to their restaurant. They allow you to call ahead of time and order so that once you get there, your food is ready to go. I appreciate their appreciation for us, and I can’t wait to keep on trying more of their food.

After a recent visit to Ice Forest with Krysten I. and Sara S., I was craving something salty to balance out the sweetness. Right across the street I saw Sushi & Bibimbap! Located on the first floor of City Financial Tower is a little shop with a BIG menu. They seemed to have everything from sushi rolls, bibimbap, meat jun, and udon! Just the rolls alone take a few minutes to look through. My eyes were much larger than my stomach and I ordered a Magma Roll(Shrimp Tempura, Unagi, Cucumber, Spicy Sauce, and a million other delectable ingredients!). For $ 11.00, I was a bit apprehensive(I never buy lunch for more than $ 10!), but thought I was hungry enough to tackle it. I was wrong. Oh so very wrong! The roll was MASSIVE! Imagine a «gourmet» roll from Shokudo and double it! HUGE! On top of that, the sushi roll came with a side salad, a heap of ginger, and a miso soup. No wonder it’s over $ 10! This is lunch, dinner, and a late night snack rolled into one! *Pun intended* I could hardly eat three pieces before I gave up and packed it for dinner. There were so many flavors and textures going on that my mind had a hard time grasping what I was eating. It was delicious, but a confusion for the tongue. I think next time I will stick to a more simple roll. The miso soup was a bit too watered down than I prefer, but since it was an accompaniment to my sushi roll, I didn’t complain. Since it was Good Friday and there were hardly any other patrons around, service was very quick. I can see this establishment getting very busy during a normal lunch time, so I am not sure how service is at peak hours. The next time I’m so hungry I could eat a horse, I’ll come to Sushi & Bibimbap for one of their HUMONGOUS sushi rolls instead!

Yet another affordable, fast and delicious lunch spot in Downtown where, sadly, I can only enjoy when I happen to be off on a weekday(rarely). We ended up here randomly because another«hot on Unilocal» spot had run out of food completely. Luckily, there is no shortage of great places to eat in Downtown on a weekday — my boyfriend’s friends’ check-in led us here. I said yes right away because Bi bim bap is one of my favorite dishes! Their menu is extensive, almost bigger than the shop itself! They offer a ton of specialty rolls, a variety of lunch plates such as meat jun, teri chicken, etc., hand rolls and even breakfast, all for about $ 8 or less. There is a tiny place to stand inside the door as you place your order at the counter. Outside there are about four tables to enjoy your lunch. I ordered… the Bi Bim Bap(surprise!), and I’m happy I did! The plate was a cornucopia of colors! I absolutely love variety and this plate had it — purple cabbage, carrot, broccoli, cucumber, shitake mushrooms, egg, and a few other things I can’t name. The plate comes with your choice of beef, chicken or pork. I can’t say anything for the other dishes they serve but I really enjoyed their namesake plate — I was really surprised something so pretty and detailed came out of a tiny shop like this.

Business hours. lunchtime. It gets busy. This is like a hidden small restaurant in this building first floor. Got the Tempura combo and the chicken combo. Combo includes the meal and miso soup. Total came out to around $ 17~. So the tempura tasted alright. The tempura sauce came with it. There was a salad… with onions only with it. No dressing for it. Edamame came along with it too. Miso soup was not bad. Decent food and decent price.

Must Order: a specialty roll Holy smokes these rolls are as big as a baby’s arm! No joke they’re humango. It was filled with rice and cucumber but definitely bigger than your average sushi roll. And if you’re taking it back to an office to eat, know that people may stare at your obscenely large sushi roll. This tiny joint throws out some big plates and tasty food. If it wasn’t downtown, I’d probably want to keep going to try the different offerings! PORKKALBISPECIAL(3 Belly Rubs): This was a heavy dish that probably could induce a kanak attack. Slathered in what seems like a mix of spicy pork and kalbi marinade, the pork ribs were tasty. They weren’t quite fall off the bone moist but pretty moist nonetheless. Served on furikake topped rice, option of edamame or kimchee, small salad, and miso soup, it’s definitely a full meal at a decent price. FOREVERSPECIALITYROLL(3 Belly Rubs): I love tempura rolls topped with spicy ahi. This was exactly that but with extra cucumber and a little more rice to add to the bulkiness of this hefty roll. The sauce was good, different from your standard spicy ahi sauce, although I personally thought it was too saucy for my own taste. Also served with a small salad and miso soup, this can be a filling meal all by itself! FINALVERDICT: I’d come back to try the other dishes! Everything seemed fresh and well made. Also decent prices!

The prices here seem over priced for some sushi rolls, but I wanted to try this place cause I pass buy it all the time for work && I simply just LOVE sushi. I was kind of disappointed when they called my food and had it all tied up so I couldn’t check my order or to make sure there was shoyu inside. But I took it anyway just because I wanted to get back. When I finally opened up the bag I was SHOCKED how huge the roll was!
A very happy surprise: D I ordered the SNOWCRUNCHROLL($ 7.95), which was just amazing! This rolls is LOADED with Shrimp Tempura, Cucumbers, topped with Crab, Special Sauce, Tobiko and Green Unions. Aside from tasting amazing I was also pleasantly surprised that it came with some salad and miso soup! And a very generous amount of ginger. Yum Yum!

Decided to check this place out since it is across the street of where I work. It’s a small shop, basically a takeout window, that offers specialty rolls, limited nigiri, and plate lunch offerings. Opening at 6:30am, they also offer $ 3.50 breakfast bentos and spam musubis. My first day here, I ordered their meat jun. Unique meat jun in that it is double-layered. By double layering the meat, I guess they save on the egg batter. Their meat jun was OK – lack luster flavor. The meat wasn’t quite as tender as I’m accustomed to. Doubt I will come here for their meat jun. I tried their specialty roll next – the superman. Inari sushi topped with spicy ahi and adorned with tobiki, green onion, and colorful sauces. The sushi had an extra spicy kick to it. The Korean side in me loved this. Five pieces of inari sushi for $ 10.95. This also came with salad and miso soup. I felt quite content following this lunch considering the bargain on specialty rolls. The food is prepared fresh after you order. Keep in mind that there may be a small wait while they put together your order. So be forewarned. Also, this is not a full-fledged sushi shop so it doesn’t have the gamut of nigiri offerings – for example, no hamachi or uni… But 3 pieces of nigiri per order instead of two. I will have to test the quality of their nigiri someday… When I ordered the Superman roll, I had expected it to be served to me in those small, clear, plastic sushi containers where it would get squashed/flattened into a block shape. Instead, the specialty roll was stored in your typical styrofoam plate lunch container. The sushi was stored in the roomy main compartment. Salad in one of the smaller compartments with ginger and a healthy wad of wasabi in the remaining third compartment. The gentleman at the counter took great care when packaging your order into the takeout bag. Placing the bowl of miso soup on top and delicately tying the ends of the bag into a careful knot at the top while preserving its balance. While the meat jun was a miss for me, I enjoyed their sushi and welcomed their thoughtful customer service. You can expect to see future check-ins here from me!
