I have had the pleasure of two sessions with Ashley. She is amazing! Her personality and spirit are awesome. I went to her after a bad experience with my former stylist who I was with for quite a while. Ashley was able to lighten my hair after a misunderstanding with my former stylist. She was very gentle with my brittle and damaged hair. Not only was she gentle with my damaged hair but she also explained the products she was putting in my hair and the benefits of each.
During my second session I told her I wanted to go lavender, she went a deeper purple but I was ecstatic nonetheless. Ashley explained it would lighten after a couple of washes and I had complete faith in her knowledge. I walked out of the salon stoked with my purple hair. 4 – 5 hair washes later and I have reached the lavender/​silver color I had in mind. I have received so many compliments on my hair color all thanks to Ashley, from the early deep purple color up to the lavender/​silver color I am currently rocking.
Please, please, go see Ashley. If you are new to Hawaii or looking for a new stylist, I can assure you, you will not be displeased.

Who likes split ends and brassy hair? Yeah said no one ever.
After hearing a lot of good things about this salon, I decided to give it a try. From the reviews, I booked an appointment with Amy, which I did not regret. From this session, I had a cut, color correction, and color treatment. Once walking through the door I was welcomed and asked if I wanted a beverage. Shocking because not many salons do this now a days.
If you’re ever coming here, I recommend Amy~Though this was my first time meeting Amy, it seemed like I’ve known her for ages. She’s so friendly and she knows what she’s doing, which I really appreciate since I’ve have terrible salon experiences. Bye bye splits and multi colored hair!

Ryan contacted me by phone, email, and through Unilocal,and offered to address my concerns. I was very impressed with the fact that he really did want me to be happy with my hair. That means a lot!
He invited me to stop by on a non-​working day, and he fixed my uneven ends (which I found out was only visually uneven). Apparently, because of my side part, my right side has less hair and thus can appear longer. Ryan tried to address that by taking off more weight on my left side, and checked with me multiple times to ensure that I would leave the salon a happy person!

Go see Ashley for sure. She takes her time and does it right. It’s hard to find someone who can actually blend hair!

New Chinatown’s best kept secret. I love how my hair looks and feels when I leave. I sat in a chair and told my stylist I needed something professional but fun and he brought it! I will be defiantly coming back.

Found this place on Unilocal and found a groupon for a cut and treatment for $ 53.
I was greeted by Amy, who was just as talkative as I am, we had great conversation and she did a good job on my hair. She’s young but her skill is very defined and well practiced. I will be coming back to get my hair colored by her.
Found my new go-​to place.

Today was my first time coming to Ryanjacobie Salon and I loved it. :) The staff was really nice. The hairstylist (Ashley) that was appointed to me had the cutest and kindest personality.
I had a few inches of my hair trimmed off and requested side bangs. Ashley washed my hair, blow dried it, and curled it with such tenderness. I was afraid the price would be way too much for my likings but it surprisingly came out to a reasonable price. I just found my go-​to hair salon. Definitely will recommend to my friends!

I have been coming to Ryan Jacobie now for 5 years. Ryan does such a great job. The salon is clean, lots of free parking, the staff is friendly too and they are conveniently located in Chinatown.

Awful cut today. Although I asked for a stylist she wasn’t. Only cutting hair for 2 years. Sweet, but not what I asked for. Now have to wait 2 years to grow it out or cut it all off. If you can’t do it, say so and save us grief.

I just loved the warm welcome when I walked into the door … The staff is amazing! I had Ashley she was awesome! My hair was a mess when I walked in… Ashly was very easy to talk! She gave me a wonderful hair cut with style! Thanks to Ashly I walked out with amazing hair! She also help me pick the best products for my hair… I would definitely go back … That was the best experience I had in years at a beauty salon! Thank you!

The Owner Ryan is just as sweet as can be. I had a great time with him. I had some unwanted tones to my hair and he gave me beautiful lowlights and highlights to make the perfect natural look. If you are looking to have natural blonde hair then go see Ryan. He truly did magic on my hair. Ryan gives good head (massage) too! Go see The Color Genius! You will be more than pleased.

I loved the customer service! I went there for the first time today and stacee made me feel really welcome. I usually freak out whenever I cut my hair shorter (that’s what happened 6 months ago) but She understood what I wanted really well. I love the haircut and I’m definitely coming here again (even though I rarely cut my hair) haha.

I absolutely love going to Ryanjacobie! I will be a loyal customer as long as I live in Hawaii. Ryan is simply amazing! I love the way he works, he is very professional and will let you know exactly what you will be getting before he even starts the process. I can’t say enough good things about him. This review is long over due! First of all I purchased a groupon for a haircut, wash and blow. My stylist I believe was named Stacie. She started off with taking me into the back to the wash room. My head of hair has never ever been washed like this before. The shampoo and conditioner had ingredients of some tea tree oil and the massage on my scalp almost put me to sleep lol. When the wash was down she brought me back to the chair where I was greeted by a fresh cup of coffee. This is Wonderful I thought! I told her I would like layers and to chop off about 4 inches. I was nervous going in and it’s always a gamble when anyone cuts my hair. I could smile on the outside and be crying in the inside with my hair looking like it was chopped by a lawn mower. That was not the case with my experience. I decided to not look in the mirror until my haircut was complete. She even curled it at the end and sprayed it a bit. She turned me around so I would face the mirror and I was very happy and pleased! Great customer service and a great job!!!

I had Amy. She gave a great sugar scrub scalp massage with sparkling water rinse. I also had a discounted Groupon that didn’t affect the service she gave.
I was also offered coffee, tea or water when I walked in.
Parking is a challenge being in Downtown so go early. The lot across is $ 15/​2hrs. I found street metered prkg for $ 1.50/hr but only allows you an hr at a time.

Ever since moving to Hawaii I’ve been searching for a salon that had professional stylists, great customer service, an aesthetically pleasing environment, and of course quality work. I found all four of those qualities at Ryan Jacobie salon.
I purchased a Groupon for a cut and wash and decided to use it right before I flew out of town for a wedding. As soon as I walked in the door and I promptly greeted and offered a refreshment by Ryan himself and I instantly felt that I was receiving great customer service. I was promptly set up with Alyse who listened to my every concern during consultation and gave me feedback in a way that made me know that she was listening. The wash house experience was AMAZING. The best shampoo massage I’ve ever had, plus I highly recommend the sugar scrub. my hair and scalp has never felt so refreshed.
Once it was time to style my hair I let her know that I had a very hard time trying to learn how to curl my hair (I always wear it straight by default) and she taught me a dummy-​proof way how to curl using a flat iron. She made it look so easy and even told me how to keep it looking voluminous throughout the day (the good ol’ hair flip).
Overall, I was 100% percent satisfied with my salon experience and I plan to only go to Alyse whenever I need a cut and style.

Today I experienced one of the best salon visits I’ve ever had! I walked in and was instantly greeted by a very nice young woman who immediately paired me with a stylist whose name was Amy. What a delight she was as we discussed what I wanted done to my hair. She was very professional, patient and sensitive to all my requests.
I had an incredibly divine sugar scrub applied to my scalp followed by a sparkling water rinse! Then Amy gave me the most wonderful scalp, neck and shoulder massage. I was relaxed and refreshed when I got back into the salon chair for my haircut.
Amy skillfully and quickly snipped away at my hip length hair shaping and contouring my shaggy mane into a sculptured hairdo mid back. My bangs were cut perfectly and can now be either worn down or side swept. Amy then curled my hair into full voluminous waves!
I looked 20 years younger when she was done! Seriously! I can’t express how extremely pleased I am with Amy and the whole Ryanjacobie staff. This salon is truly a fantastic find and one I will be sure to frequent in the future. And of course with Amy as my stylist!

Can I just say that my loyalty now resides with a new stylist? Haha. I found Ryanjacobe Salon on Unilocal (obviously) because I desperately needed to update my grown out, blonde ombré summer hair and my usual stylist was booked solid for the whole week. The receptionist scheduled me with Landon, which I firmly believe was fate working her magic.
I asked for subtle, purple peek-​a-​boo highlights and a very layered cut. Landon went to work and the rest was history. I am totally not exaggerating when I say I’m OVER THE MOON about my new hair. I LOVE IT. Landon is an artist and a magician. He listened to what I wanted, and I knew he had experience and knowledge because he also gave recommendations about what would look good to contrast the purple and he cut my hair in a way that fulfilled what I wanted while making it easy for me to manage on my own, and of course educating me on color and hair care. I love my hair so much now I can’t stop looking at myself in the mirror haha.
Overall, love the place. The staff are really nice, too. GO SEE LANDON. He is amazing. Seriously. Oh, and I’ll post pics. I promise.

I went to Ryan Jacobie thinking my hair was messed up beyond repair from a different salon. They were efficient, professional, kind, and accurate.
You’re greeted with a warm smile and a beverage Ashley (I think that was her name) did a miracle on my hair. I wanted something bold and edgy for my birthday and she did EXACTLY what I wanted.
