Ate breakfast here with family. Declined the buffet because i saw a big pigeon walking on the table and eating food off of all of the serving utencils. He ate for at least 20 minutes. I commented on the bird and the waitress made a rude joke out of it. Bird flu is not a joke. Happy with his breakfast buffet, the bird flew away on his own, sure to return tomorrow for another shared meal with paying customers. I wont be one of them.

We stayed at the Queen Kapiolani for 5 days and ate at the restaurant twice, that was enough. The first night we came to drink and relax a bit and watch football. There was a new bartender who was training so our over all experience was bumpy. They do a reverse happy hour which was a nice touch and had several TV’s in the bar area. We ordered the Margarita pizza which was basically a frozen pizza. I get it, this is a hotel bar/restaurant I am not expecting a miracle but I would have had better pizza had I ordered the $ 5 Little Caesar’s Special. We tried the breakfast buffet another day which was an even worse experience. The buffet is $ 18 or you can order from the menu. Me being not that hungry, opted to order from the menu. Our server was rude, just plain rude. I was greeted with«what you want!!!» so I ordered the American Breakfast and she walked away. I stopped her to tell her how I wanted my eggs, and then she walked away again. I stopped her, again, because I had a choice of toast and side potato. I ordered white toast(I received whole grain) and was barked at that they«don’t serve corned beef hash», even though it was an option on the menu. I was never offered anything to drink and had get my own water and coffee from the buffet line. My scrambled eggs came out dense like a brick and the Boy had to get me white toast from the buffet since I cant have whole grain bread due to dietary restrictions. The server never came back to check on us or to make sure everything was ok. After all the mediocre food was delivered, our server because talkative and very nice. She chided me on the ammt of food I ate and said I should have ordered ala carte if I wasn’t that hungry. I couldn’t get her to take my order from the regular menu, let alone several items from ala carte before she ran off. Save your money and go to a place down the main drag or to the cash only place, Waikiki Beachside Kitchen, down the alley at the Hostel.

Dinner on Tuesday, 3÷31÷15(first time visiting) There’s a restaurant located on the 3rd floor of the hotel next to the swimming pool area. They have indoor or outdoor seating along with a bar. There was no wait at all and the ambiance is casual. It took a while to get menus but in general, service was slow. The food wasn’t the best but they had a 3 course meal option which made decision-making a little easier. We ordered the prime rib entrée as well as the fish. The sides were ok and the dessert was very sweet. I would recommend this place only if you have a lot of time to spare and relax. There are plenty of other food places in Hawaii to enjoy a nice meal.

Love the fact it is right across the street from Waikiki Beach. Close by this burger joint called Teddy’s which I refer you to go! Also next to the Zoo and a strand which is walking distance of all the high end and retail stores similar to Vegas. $ 25/day for parking which is the same for all of Hawaiian hotels. The room is kinda old/outdated, but I did not mind because we were rarely in the room. Bed was okay but I also did not mind. Just needed some closet space because all they had was drawers. But overall the location of this hotel is worth it!
