First Unilocal review. Wish it would be a positive one but unfortunately that’s not the case. I live right down the block and have passed it a couple times walking. Saw mostly positive reviews so I figured why not. This is clearly catered to the Korean community which presents a language barrier. Unfortunately I don’t speak fluent Korean despite having a Korean mother but very much wish I did because she was hard to understand and seemed to have a hard time understanding me in English(I didn’t try Korean as I’m not confident in my ability to convey what I’m trying to say). I feel as though my instructions are pretty simple(as I tell the same thing to every barber for the last year and have never had an issue) high fade with a 1 and only thin out the top. Every once in a while I’ll ask them to trim up the top when it starts to get too long. Somehow this gets interpreted as cut off almost everything. I walked in with roughly four inches of hair on top and walked out with maybe one. Essentially a high and tight. She struggled with the fade as well. At one point she held a mirror close asking me if I was satisfied while still having a very clearly defined line between where she used the 1 and where she cut the top. She asked if I was in the military to which I said yes and she even attempted to cut the top even shorter at which point I jerked my head back and explained it was already too short. She must have picked up on the fact that I was already irritated because she started cleaning up the cut hair around my neck and such. She seemed like a very nice lady so I didn’t want to make any sort of scene. The cut was $ 16 to which I gave twenty, said thank you, and walked out. If you speak Korean you perhaps will have better luck. Otherwise I’d recommend strongly conveying what it is you want *exactly*. She seemed to have not understood what I said exactly and proceed to cut my hair to her own interpretation of what she thought would look fine while perhaps starting with the assumption I was military thus giving me a cliché military hair cut. Good luck.

Hard to find. Can’t see shop from the street. Look for the bakery– there is a cut thru next to it. Shop is back there. Very clean shop. I liked that. My son tried to explain a fade type cut he wanted. She seemed to understand. I thought it looked great. He’s still unsure. Lol.(little Picky)

This barber shop is located in a tiny complex on the corner of King and Kaheka. There is parking located behind the complex but I am not sure how much it costs. The barber shop is located in a walkway in the middle of the building that goes to the front side. I want to like this Barber Shop since it is within walking distance of my apartment. The only real problem is every time I come here she seems to cut my hair very uneven and she has a hard time fading my hair. Other shops can do it just fine. Maybe because I am a walk-in customer and never set up an appointment she seems she needs to rush, I am not sure. Unfortunately, since her prices are about the same as everywhere else I will stick with Thoms barber shop at Ala Moana.

Made an appointment but ended up really late because of traffic, she took me in past the 5:30pm closing time then gave a great haircut. Supremely nice lady and cuts mean hair, also if you follow a GPS it will put you on the wrong side of Kaheka the barbershop is actually on the Kokohead side.

Great attitude, great service, cuts my hair great every time… what else is there to say about this place? The Korean lady here is so good at cutting my hair. She remembers the way I like it and asks me if that’s how I want it again. If I don’t remember how she cut it last time, I just tell her make me handsome. She laughs and cuts my hair, making my hair so good to look at! Prices are really good as well! She charges $ 14 for men and $ 12 for the children. I’m not too sure for the women, but I bet it is reasonable since the other prices are very cheap.
