My appointment was at 11:20 am and I wasn’t seen until 1:50 pm. This is honestly the worst wait time I have ever experienced in any doctors office! Because of the unbelievably long wait time, the doctor had to rush through my exam, and I didn’t get my questions answered thoroughly. Now in addition to being so damn frustrated I am late getting back to work!!!

Dr. Francis Pien has always been my PCP since when I was in college and I can’t even get an appointment to see him for a cold. The receptionist says they have over 70 patients that the doctor has to see today. It’s better if you go to a walk in clinic or urgent care for just a cold. Really!!! Isn’t that what a PCP is for?! To see the doctor when your sick? Why would you book 70 patients in a day for ONE doctor?! Terrible! Needless to say I’m finding a new doctor.

Appointment was for 9:50 am. It is 11:00 am now. I’m still waiting. Plus, the A/C isn’t working. 11:50 am — UPDATE: It has been officially 2 hours since my appointment time, and I am STILL waiting!

I absolutely cannot recommend Dr. Brian Pien and I feel an obligation to warn the community about his lack of professional abilities. Dr. Pien was my 21 year old brother’s doctor while he was hospitalized at Straub. Dr. Pien treated my brother’s condition as a bacterial infection and ultimately discharged him. Seven days after his release from the hospital, and as a direct result of Dr. Pien’s failure to properly diagnose his condition, my brother suffered a heart attack. The future consequences of the heart attack are unknown. Not only did Dr. Brian Pien fail to properly diagnose and treat my brother, but he was also arrogant, patronizing, and dismissive towards my family while my brother was under his care. He told my mother that her anxiety regarding my brother’s condition was making him worse and was hostile towards any questions she asked him while my brother lay in a state of sepsis in the hospital.
