After trying to get a appointment with Naoko «boob guru» for my sons latching problems for a whole week, I decided to turn to mothers milk at kapiolani. They immediately didn’t help me and just differed me to see Dr. Pager.
Once I got home from mothers milk, extremely frustrated and emotional, I called Dr. Pagers office and they had something for me with in the next two days. (Unlike mothers milk I had to wait over a week)
So of course it try to look her up for all her reviews. I didn’t find any on Unilocal but I did find on google. What I found was scary! Loads of bad reviews, saying the wait was long, she talked down to the mothers and fathers of the child, so on so on. So I told my husband about it, we were a little hesitant to go to the appointment, but we still decided to try it out.
Once we walked in I noticed it wasn’t the cleanest office I’ve been to… But I wasn’t about to just walk out that very moment. I also noticed all over the walls were articles & facts on breast feeding.
So her nurses, or assistants (I’m not sure what exactly they were) checked my son and i’s weight and temperature while asking LOADS of questions. Finally once we got into a room, my husband told me they didn’t even wash their hands before handling my son (yuck)
I must say, we did wait for about 45min-​1 he for her to finally see us. Once she did! We were there for 2 more hours! SHE IS REALLY PASSIONATE ABOUT HER JOB. She sat down and asked us a bunch of questions about our marriage, pregnancy, birth so on, really worked with my son and I, at got him to do it perfectly! No pain at all! (Thank goodness) and she didn’t talk down to my husband! She was extremely nice to him and even asked how he is doing as a father.
A few days later I was having issues with my son wanting to feed for hours straight. I called the office and they asked if I was able to make it in that very day! So of course I rush over to see her. We didn’t wait very long this second time! And she talked to us on how to speed things up! Also from all the notes she took the first appointment she wrote up a full story of us, and sent it out to his pediatrician, mothers milk (which she did call to find out about the lady who didn’t help me at all) and my OBGYN! (Like I said she is very passionate)
I really recommend everyone to see her if you’re having lactation problems! Even though her office is a little dirty, and the wait is a little long she is well worth it.
