what’s the point of having a phone when you never answer and your voicemail simply states to send an email because that’s your only form of communication? Do not recommend.

As I get older and more refined with Unilocal, I’m beginning to realize that the more objective views are related to food establishments… and the more reviews you get, the better statistical chance of having the star rating mean something. After reading the posted and hidden reviews on Nate’s, I was worried to say the least and not looking forward to my daughter having to take her senior yearbook picture there. She goes to Punahou and as such, had to go to Nate’s. While not revealing my age, I remember Nate’s from my high schools days. You see them at Proms, have friends taking grad pictures,…all I remembered was positive comments. Trust me, I remember the photographers that everyone stayed away from or had bad experiences with(I remember my Junior Prom… multiple poses and ALLOFMYPICTURESHADMYEYESCLOSED!). I ended up having to ask my date to dress up again, rent a suit, by flowers, and take pictures with another photographer weeks later… trading prom pictures was a big thing back then for some reason… Anyways, our experience at Nate’s today was NOTHING like what was noted in the previous reviews. Not saying the previous reviews were inaccurate or not true, just that we had the most pleasant, professional, and customer service/friendly experience. We were running a little late and was worried we were going to get the lecture on being 15 minutes early, can you read instructions, etc… we got none of that! They were very thorough on explaining what they were doing, what we would need to do afterwards, talked about the optional senior photo packages which was not a hard sell, and asked if we had any questions. Both Nate(and his wife, I’m guessing that’s who I was talking too) were awesome. Nate even ran us through the pictures real quick and explained how the poses/lighting can effect the appearance, picture, etc. They also explained that we would need to log onto his website to vier the images and make a selection in 3 days(or else he will make one… and if that happens, he would make the best selection but everyone has different preferences). Nate looked so young, I had to ask his wife if that was Nate or Nate’s son or if he bought the business from Nate. I told her Nate’s was around when I was in school… which was 20+ years ago… She was cracking up saying he looks younger than he is and he would greatly enjoy my comment. See for yourself. Punahou parents, while you may not have a choice for your Senior’s yearbook photo, all i can say is that our experience was first rate and I would highly recommend them. My daughter is very picky and opinionated and she had nothing but great things to say about this experience and how the photos turned out. Nate’s also not a Punahou grad, so you can put the conspiracy theories to rest too(and I’m also not a Punahou grad).

He has the Punahou account and so he has this attitude like I don’t need your business. He takes your money and takes forever to deliver. I have been waiting for over 2 months to get my pictures. His pictures are nothing special, just über expensive. There are other photographers that do just a good a job as him with more reasonable prices. When we had the appointment, he tells us to come 15 minutes early, so we did. He was the one late 15 minutes shopping with his wife. Punahou should seriously look into changing photographer for the yearbook!
