I gotta say when they say last call just walk out don’t eat here. Customer service is zero. We couldn’t even enjoy our food cause they kept trying to put the meat on the grill and kept asking if our check was signed… we are still eating. Also, doesn’t help that they are watching you eat… kinda weird and not very professional. Every restaurant wants to go home I understand, but hounding and basically trying to kick out your customers is unacceptable. Sadly they have very good food and terrible everything else. If you don’t believe, try it out for yourself and post your findings. Haha

This place is the definition of a «No nonsense» Korean restaurant. I love coming here because their focus clearly is on just good tasting food. If you want a 5 star resort type of experience, you will be disappointed. However, if you just want Lots of good Korean food, this place is perfect! The place itself is kind of ghetto, but sanitary. The servers literally speed walk or run to your service. They bring out banchan within minutes of you ordering and they refill frequently if necessary. The servings are big and of excellent value. I have not had anything bad here and everything tastes very authentic. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I stumbled upon this gem because they are 2 blocks from my apt, on a nondescript side street off Kapiolani. Boy am I glad I found them. The food is great, first rate all around. They serve ample appetizers and their meat and noodle offerings are delicious. Customer service is also good. Million is the quintessential good hole-in-the-wall restaurant, and should be on your short list for Korean if you’re in the Kaka’ako/Ward area.

This was my 2nd visit here. The first was over a year ago and I still have happy memories of a great meal! That’s why I returned! There are FREE parking stalls(behind the building) that are assigned to the businesses that share the lot. Just enter on Makaloa Street, look at the signs and follow the directions! If the parking lot is full, there’s always street parking — good luck! This is more like an old school, hole-in-the-wall place, so service is very basic. Don’t expect fancy décor or elegant ambiance. Ask for napkins, and you’ll get it. Want more banchan? Just tell your server! No problem! Enjoy the seaweed soup that comes with each meal! The authentic Korean food is the main attraction. We didn’t want to cook our own and smell extra smokey(the people around us were cooking), so we ordered off the menu: Seafood Pancake, Stone Pot Bibimbop, Meat Jun, Kalbi, and Naengmyeon(Black noodles made from arrowroot). I was so happy to find the chewy black noodles that I wasn’t paying that much attention to the other dishes. However, I managed to consume all of the kalbi! Yum! This is a good place for late night snack after a movie or a concert. It’s convenient and the food is tasty! We stayed until closing(11pm), just chatting away! We didn’t feel rushed, so we’ll probably return!

I’ve been here a few times. And I must say I really enjoy the meat jun and chicken they serve here. Super delicious. I highly recommend trying this place if u haven’t already decent prices. Parking can be difficult sometimes in the lot. But there is street parking. But I love this place.

If you are craving yakiniku, I definitely recommend this place! Although it can be a little pricey, the bf and I love coming here for a late night dinner. We get the Set A that comes with an assortment of meat and also shrimp. Between the 2 of us, we are STUFFED when we finish it.(make sure you use the 2 sauces they give you to dip your meat in. Yum!) Also, their banchan here is good and they give a lot :) service is also pretty good here and our waters are never left empty. The only downside to this place can be parking

Meant to have come here for a while, but never did until now. Was walking up Sheridan to check out the new 808 Center, but decided to come back. Looked quiet from the outside, but there was a nice crowd inside. Tables are set up for BBQ. The service was good. Served seaweed soup and a spread of banchan. The banchan was flavorful and had a nice balance of sweetness and spiciness. Had the stone pot bibimbap which was one of the lunch specials. It was really good. The meat, egg, veggies, and toasted rice created a nice combination of flavors and textures. The dishes that were being served at other tables looked good too. Will be back.

We had just gotten out from watching a movie at the Consolidated Theaters at Ward Villages when we started to search for a restaurant that would warm our chilled bodies(woo, the air conditioning was really pumping cold air like a refrigerator) and we hadn’t eaten breakfast or lunch because of pre-movie appointments. As we were driving through the Ala Moana neighborhood, I mentioned Korean food(specifically soondubu) and my husband, who was driving, made a «whiplashing turn» onto Makaloa Street. We were about to continue through the intersection of Sheridan and Makaloa when we noticed the parking stalls for Million Restaurant. Since it was after 2:30PM and the stalls were empty we began to question whether or not this restaurant was actually open for service. There are some restaurants that have split shift hours and fortunately, our handy Unilocal App confirmed that Million Restaurant was indeed open for business. We pulled into one of the stalls and walked into a crowded restaurant… I guess that the other diners either work or live in the area since even the metered street parking was clear. We were greeted by a female voice as we stepped through the backdoor…“Hwangyong-hamnida”. A lovely and polite server came out from the kitchen to escort us to a table as we were led to a large booth because all of the other smaller tables were filled. She gave us lunch(lunch specials were still available until 3PM) and dinner menus and promptly brought us iced water. My thoughts about ordering the soondubu(tofu soup) quickly changed as I perused the value-priced lunch combinations. All of the menu items attracted our hunger and we were considering ordering the dolsot bibimbap(mixed rice dish served in a sizzling stone bowl) and a meat side dish. But, as our friendly server returned with 6 small dishes of assorted banchan we suddenly selected their lunch combination of kalbi/galbi shortribs and meat jun. Whoa, our carnivore appetite was about to be satiated. All of their lunch combinations are served with at least 6 assorted banchan(selections vary dependent upon availability), steaming hot white rice, a pot of hot tea and seaweed soup. We started munching on the banchan with our rice while our lunches were being prepared. I even started getting full from eating just rice and the assorted side dishes. The server offered to refill our banchan but we refused as we needed to keep room in our stomaches for our food. Our meals arrived and the aromas fired up an appetite«second wind». Both meat dishes were flavorful, tender and cooked to perfection. Better yet, the lunch menu offers a good price point and portions are quite generous. We must’ve been really hungry plus the food was very flavorful as we were in and out of the restaurant within a half hour. The food was flavorful, portions were generous and the lunch menu was priced with value in mind. The restaurant is surrounded by low-rise apartment buildings so they’re situated in an established neighborhood. There isn’t much ambiance here but, it’s clean and each tabletop grill has its own highly efficient exhaust system. After paying our bill, our server was nice enough to open the backdoor for us and sweetly wished us «kamsamnida»(Thank You). #477

I visited this place with my family on the last day before heading to the airport. It was my first time here everything was delicious. We ordered a few of the sets and the seafood pancake which came with the sides. My kids loved the seaweed soup and even the ginger drink at the end. I will definitely need to stop by again on my next visit.

I think I’ve been here over 30X already… Million is one of the regular places my family goes to all the time. That being said, straight up good Korean food. I like their kalbi, meat jun, and by far they have the best Kalbi Tang(short rib soup/stew) the meat is soft and soup is tasty! Love the side dishes. The only thing that can be improved is their kim chee, kinda plain. Other than that, Million is quick service, casual, good prices, parking in the back. Love the small drink dessert that they give you at the end too.

This restaurant is located around the corner from my job so it is for sure my quick grab and go place for lunch. I would for sure recommend calling around 11 – 1130 to order your food as the restaurant is not really busy at that time. I typically call down ahead and order either the Tofu Soup($ 9.00 lunch special) or the BBQ Chicken($ 11 lunch special), wait in my office for about 5 – 10 minutes and then walk downstairs and BAM. Warm comfy goodness in my tummy. The lunch portions definately feel large as take out, especially with the sides. I do not eat kim chee(shocking I know), however the egg and potato salad that they give are delicious. If you work and are in walking distance to this area for lunch, GOFORIT!

The mixed seafood hot stone bowl was delicious. It was flavorful and had plenty of seafood. The service is good. The server checked on us multiple times. The small hole in the wall feel is cool although they do need to get rid of the old carpet. Because you can cook our own food at the table, you will leave this place with your clothes and hair smelling greasy.

1010pm we were greeted by «oh we last call 1030, close @11» said we’ll be fast. seated and ordered quickly. Banchan came out asap, minutes later my bowl of YukGaejang was delivered. However, my party’s meals weren’t delivered. The server handed us our check shortly after, noticed how cheap our tab was. none of the other orders were taken. Like really? They seriously thought we came to share a bowl of soup? ridiculous as it was the woman demand our payment so they can close up at 1045. amazing how her face brightens and attitude lightens seein the fat tip she didn’t deserve

My favorite late night Korean food restaurant! Oh the memories I have had here on those late, drunken nights. However, nowadays, they aren’t open so late at night… But neither am I! Hahahaha This place used to be 24 hours, then they changed it to like 2am… Maybe still on the weekends… But on the weekdays, they close at 11pm… Still a good time to eat late. It’s not as expensive as the other place across the street. And of course, the service here is waaaaayyy better than the other guys(sorabol). I’m no Korean food connoisseur, but I think their Korean food is pretty authentic and good. My fave is meat jun or the seafood pancake… Even though they don’t really serve meat jun in actual Korea. If you want late night, good Korean food with good service… This is the place to go!

When I first got to Honolulu, everyone asked if I’d been to Million Restaurant. And I had to profess I did not. When my husband asked everyone, they all made it seem as though it was the place to go. So imagine my surprise when I walked into what felt like a hole in the wall — at non– hole in the wall prices! I’m sorry, wha? What do you want me to pay for some kalbi? And again… the kalbi was full of fat.(Motif around the island when it comes to Korean food it seems) The banchan was ok, and at least they offered to refill items you ate, etc. But for the quantity of meat that we got in the Kalbi, and the hefty bill at the end, it wasn’t quite worth it for us. Add to that, the not so clean feeling of the place… the table, the chairs, etc. I just don’t think its worth it. While we haven’t been back since, it doesn’t mean I won’t go again just to solidify my review.

Have you ever had the pure and exquisite joy of eating Kalbi soup from this amazing place? No? I cry for you. I LOVE the food, the kalbi, the BBQ chicken, the meat jun, the little dishes of banchan that always holds all of my favorites. They are my number one place for seaweed soup and my husband loves their spicy rice cake though he is a touch sad that they do not have spicy pork because it would, if they served it, certainly be delicious. But what I feel for their Kalbi Tang goes beyond just love. If it was a person I would stalk him. I would show up at his door unannounced with my arms full of DVDs, wine, and a half knitted hat. I would peer through the windows of his workplace, «accidentally» run into him at restaurants, and harass his girlfriend until he is forced to file a restraining order against me and I am eventually dragged from his apartment’s fire escape in handcuffs. Yes. This is so much more than just love. Not that I would never actually do any of those things because I am really, super mentally stable. Just go get the soup.

I hate to admit this, however I have NEVER eaten at this place. Everyone I shared this with informed me that it is THE go to place after clubbing, partying, a night on the town, etc. However, I guess I was standing WAAAAYYYY back in the club too close to the DJ because I NEVER heard of this joint. So when I was jonesing for some Korean food this week, a fellow co-worker suggested this haunt as it is one of his faves. The place is in a secret spot that I guess if you know, then well, you know where it is. I would’ve never found it on my own. Parking was a little sketchy with signs EVERYWHERE in the parking lot WARNING you NOT to park in this stall or that stall or you would get TOWED immediately. YIKES! With that type of multiple warnings, you best not be parking in any old stall. So we enter the place, it’s a bit dingy but that doesn’t necessarily bother me. The menu is fairly extensive with a lot of meat options and a few veggie ones. I ordered a fish jun lunch special and it was actually really good. The veggies came and it was yummers. It included not only cucumber kim chee and regular kim chee, but also bean sprouts and potato salad. Ooh! Overall, pretty yummy. Last note, even in the BATHROOM there are signs warning you about the PARKING. So don’t say they didn’t warn you! Haha
