Nice place to drop in if you are in the Waikiki area. We usually grab musubi and oden. Prices are reasonable for Waikiki. Not phenomenal but not bad. I prefer it to ABC.

Are there other options to ABC? Yup, this is one of them. Located in the Sheraton Waikiki, this place is a great convenience to those in that hotel. Like ABC it has food, and the choices are better. Like ABC it has souvenirs and the choices are not better. It’s still a welcome option in Waikiki. I seen more of these in Maui than Oahu. Maybe we’ll see more.

There’s not a lot of places to get oden in Hawaii and this is one of them. The oden is yummy and the workers are nice. They don’t validate parking tickets though, so be prepared to shell out cash only for that. 1 hr is 5 dollars.

Best of any convenience store ever. Cold Mike’s Hard in the fridge, hot udon, oden and manapua. It’s not gourmet. It’s as basic as basic gets and it’s delicious.

Pretty much just like ABC stores you will find on the island. Price wise are pretty much the same as ABC store as well. One thing I noticed though is that this Lawson Station had some type of Japanese hot pot skewers for sale which I never saw at ABC stores. One other thing is this place doesn’t seem to have a rewards program like ABC store(spend $ 100 for free gift).

What an odd name, especially for a convenience/sundry store. They’re located in the lobby of the Sheraton Waikiki. They carry everything you’d find in an ABC Store. Prices are comparable. Bought some Heineken and Corona and enjoyed the sunset from our balcony accompanied by the free Hawaiian music coming from the Halekulani next door. Heaven!

I’m not sure why everyone gives this store such bad reviews but I had a totally positive experience during my visit. I forgot to pack sunscreen and grabbed a spray bottle on one of the shelves. Of course you’re getting Waikiki prices but that’s to be expected. Man at the counter was nice enough to give me a 10% Kama’aina discount which I very much appreciated. Sure I thought it was an ABC Store at first but there’s nothing wrong with that and I got everything I was looking for. Conveniently located at the Sheraton lobby right by the Edge pool. Happy vacationing!

On my recent stay at the Sheraton Waikiki hotel, I frequented Lawson Station because it was so convenient being in the lobby as soon as you walk out of the elevator. This convenient store is similar to your ABC stores you’ll find on every block in Waikiki. I personally like Lawson Station because they have everything. They do sell alcohol and hot and cold prepared food all ready for consumption and ready to eat. My favorites to get when we were too exhausted to go out and eat we’re the California roll and Philadelphia roll sushi and even their salmon musubi which you can find in their cold food cooler. I noticed that a lot of Japanese tourists were ordering this bowl of soup called Oden and how it works is you choose what you want in your bowl soup. I always got the tamago, this tube looking fish cake(forgot what it’s called), the arabiki, and the noodles. Oden is sooooo yummy especially after a hard day of throwing it back(drinking) LOL… especially because Rumfire is right next door. Its was ALWAYS busy when I went here or just walked by but waiting in line was worth it. The line went down quickly because they have 3 cashiers working at all times… Except for when the mister went he said they were just standing around talking story while he waited in line! BOO!!! I would have given them 5 stars but because the mister was upset he had to wait while they were talking story, I had to knock off a star! If you’re from Hawaii, don’t forget to mention you’re Kamaaina to get your discount!!!

Convenience. Location. Selection. Service. Friendliness. Prices are outrageous. A 750ml bottle of Jim Beam(white label) Bourbon is $ 25 and at ABC, across the street from the Sheraton, it’s $ 20. It can be found for $ 13 at other stores, such as Long’s or Donkey. You should NOT go here except for TWO Items only if you’re staying at the Sheraton or Royal Hawaiian: Onigiri(rice balls) and Beer. If you like American beer and/or want a «rice ball filled with goodies» then go here. Everything else is too expensive and limited in selection. Instant ramen, corn or potato chips, lunch bento’s, etc. are too limited and over priced(Takai) I ordered the«Oden» and with that 2 Chikuwa and 1 Gobo all with soup base. The soup lacked any and all flavor to say that it was made with ½ package seasoning and too much water. This made the Chikuwa & Gobo flavorless. Sad. Easy to fix had someone tasted it prior to selling it. Had someone known what REAL Japanese Oden tastes like. I go to Japan(Tokyo) very often and personally know THIS is not good Oden. Bad: Quality of food. Preparation of cooked foods. Prices. And I’ll say again: prices. The ABC Store across the street is less expensive and 2 minutes walking out of your way. Worth the walk to save $ 10-$ 20 per shopping event(Y900-Y1,800). On a positive note… two things: there is an African American man that works at the check-out who is so jovial, friendly, and just a man who makes my worst of moods cheer up and I feel great after speaking with him. He is a credit to the store. Secondly, this is the ONLY shop on Island, and among most restaurants as well that hand you a plastic wrapped hand wipe to clean-up before you eat your meal. This is SO Japanese and lives up to the Lawson motto. So, there is some good to this store after all. That’s why I gave them an earned 3-Stars. Please check the«Useful» button below if I helped you with this review. Thank you.

Lawson station inside the Sheraton Waikiki is pretty cool and a nice solution for lunch. They have musubis, salads and best of all oden. Granted you can make it at home cheaper. There are times when you just want to have soup. Items are $ 1-$ 1.50. Don’t forget to mention you’re a kamaaina and you get 10% off. Not bad. My favorites are the atsuage(tofu), age ball, shiritaki(konyaku noodles), arabiki sausage, and han pen(steamed fish cake) If you’re staying in Waikiki check it out.

I work in Waikiki and discovered this place venturing during my lunch break. It reminds me of an ABC convenience store but has more«Japanese» type food options. Price is a bit more expensive, it is Waikiki after all. They have oden, somen salad, buckwheat noodle, onigiri, katsu, musubi, sushi, sandwiches and other Saint Germain pastries. There’s a lot of options and the staff seem nice.

Although I mostly shopped at the ABC Store, I often needed icy cold bevages to make into tasty cocktails in my room. This Lawson Station is located inside the Hotel Lobby. Lawson is an odd kind of store, they sell expensive Hawaiian Souvineers, cheap imported beauty products and premade noodle dishes in cases. Some items are just odd finds and interesting to look at. The food in cases and under lights doesn’t look that fresh, but there are swarms of people waiting for it. You can save a couple bucks on your spam musabi, but it doesn’t look that great. So weigh your options. What they do score on is low cost beer, alcohol and mixers. I bought some Hawaiian Sun Drinks, Coconut Water and a Blue Hawaiian Mixer for my Rum. Three stars for the location. That’s all that mattered to me.

We decided to walk around The Sheraton Waikiki Hotel and found Lawson Station. Lawson Station filled with more asian type foods than your typical 7-Eleven or ABC Store. Which for me is refreshing in Waikiki because it’s ABC monopolized. Filled with Anpan, Saimin, Bentos and musubi’s it’s a great change. But I have to laugh because while taking pictures and if you know me.Mmmmm.Yes the beer section I feel someone tap on my shoulder… I turn around and… Haole Tourist Lady: Why are you taking pictures of the beer??? Me:(Looking at her and her hubby with the kukui nut lei on) Because you don’t see Suntory, Corona, Longboard and Steinlager in cans. You only see them in bottles but being in Waikiki and maybe Lawson only it’s unusual.(She must have thought I was on crack!) Haole Tourist Lady: Oh! I didn’t know that! My husband wants to drink a Japanese beer and doesn’t know which one to buy? Me:(*Thinking.Oh Boy they think I’m a beer connoisseur. I turn to the husband and ask*) What do you normally drink? Haole Hubby with the kukui lei: I like my lagers. I’m not going to tell you what I sold him on. But he was really happy and purchased a few tall cans of it.
Tomorrow I’m going to quit my job and go into the liquor business! Only Joking! I just feel great helping out people that can’t decide what to drink. lol! If your in Waikiki near The Sheraton Waikiki check it out!

For those of you who are worried that Lawson Station is going to take over Waikiki and drive locally-owned ABC Store out of business, no need worry! The first thought that came to mind was the same first thought that came to mind when I walked into TJ Maxx in Ward — «that’s it???» Lawson Station is a lot smaller than all the hype that it garnered. As such, their inventory is much smaller and limited. They do one-up ABC with respect to Japanese magazines and their grab-n-go meals. In fact, they have a really attractive selection of ready-made udon, musubis, desserts(made by Panya), and other food items. It’s a good alternative to Sheraton’s casual dining place — Ingredients.

I regularly visit Japan because it’s my most favorite place to travel. I was stoked to hear that they were opening up Lawson’s here. I mean I prefer Family Mart but I’ll take anything from Japan. Since we heard of Lawson Station opening up we’ve been wanting to check it out. I’m not the fan of Waikiki so it took a little while. We had to wait an hour for a seat at a restaurant nearby so we decided to pay it a visit. Super busy with lots of tourists! Duh. I thought it had a good mix of things. I think I was expecting a little more Japanese candies and goodies but that wouldn’t make any sense since Japanese visitors visit Hawaii for«Hawaiian» things. Stuff similar to Japan: Oden, Japanese mag(with those Japanese half naked models on the front), bentos to heat up, a mix of instant ramen/miso soup/etc. to have on the go, a little liquor area with my favorite cheap sakes and umeshus, pastries from Panya/St. Germaine, and a small tiny area of toiletry stuff from Japan. Not bad. Yes, the prices are a little high. Sooo. The prices in Waikiki are always higher and its no biggy and totally expected. I love me a little bit of Japan here. Glad that the tourists can feel comfortable with a little bit of home at Lawson Station.

I hardly ever give 1 star reviews but I don’t think Lawson deserves even a 2. I was counting down the days till the store opened since I thought it might resemble the one in Japan and I was mentally making a list of the Japanese products I wanted to buy… After walking through aisle after aisle I was continually disappointed with the products I saw. It was like going to a 7 – 11 or Don Quijote with products that were just more expensive… Honestly you are better off going to Nijiya/Don Q/Shirokiya for food and Don Q or Walmart for the products… Such a disappointment. :( Unilocal365: 199⁄365

Kind of expensive convenience store. Good for guests staying at Sheraton that don’t want to walk to an ABC store. They had many Japanese snacks and products that are over priced. The only thing that was different was that they serve oden. They have a lot of staff behind the cashier counter. Store is very well kept and stocked. If in Waikiki I will go to ABC store instead.

Just a familiar name for the Japanese tourist that come here. There is absolutely nothing in terms for locals except for a few authentic onigiri items. One thing you will notice will be how small this place is so if you just plan to check it out if you’re a local, then I would suggest you do it next time you’re in Waikiki. Not worth going out of the way for it. Food was overpriced, but it is Japanese food so I «guess» you can justify it. They also bring in pastries from Panya and other food items from different local sources. Japanese snacks can be found in Nijiya Market, Don Quixote, and Shirokiya and their selection was very small. Lots of hype for their Japanese magazine section but half of that was American magazines. Go to Hakubundo if you want your Japanese magazines. This Lawson Station might just thrive on Japanese tourists alone, but that’s not going to be enough if they’re going to expand to 20 – 30 stores as they were saying. Half of the store sells the same thing as ABC Store at higher prices than ABC and 7 – 11.

One of the largest convenience stores in Japan has arrived in Hawaii. Now I have never been to Japan but my friend Nate talks about his many visits to Lawson for a late snack meal. He describes one of his favorite meals, Fried Chicken from Lawson. Now when I found out that Lawson is opening in Hawaii, I had to go down there to try this chicken. So I decided on my lunch break to visit the grand opening at Sheraton Waikiki. Unfortunately upon my arrival, to my dismay no fried chicken. Major dissapointment! How do I describe Lawson Station(whats up with these Americanized names)…Its a convenience store with Japanese finesse. As mentioned I’ve never been to Japan, but everyone talks about how awesome the convenience store food is in Japan. How is it at Lawson? Unfortunately all I have to compare is 7 – 11 and ABC Store. Well I wasn’t that hungry so I tried their tuna musibi($ 2) and Chair Su Manapua($ 1.20). It was good but nothing I will go crazy for. The bentos did look yummy but a bit pricey for display food. It included typical array of Japanese bentos. It ranged from $ 7 to $ 12 for a plastic container. Its hard for me to spend that much money in a convenience store when I can buy a hot plate of food elsewhere. Yes it lives up to the name of a convenience store, but however isn’t ABC store like in every block of Waikiki. How does this compare to 7 – 11? If you need convenience go to 7 – 11, if you want to combine 7 – 11 with ABC feel with a Japanese twist head to Lawson.(Wait does this description help?) Well the good thing about Lawson is… I get to be the first one to review it in Hawaii! The question is will I check in again. Maybe if I’m in Sheraton Waikiki and I’m too lazy to walk down the street, and me and lazy happens a lot.
