King Kong Lunchwagon

I pass this guy every day down in Mapunapuna where I work and have wanted to try it for a long time. My wife asked to go to a food truck today so we decided that was the place.
The guy running the truck was super friendly and ready to answer questions immediately. My wife decided to go with the roasted garlic chicken and hamburger curry. She absolutely loved them both. I got the loco moco (which is typical of me) and it was pretty good. Not the best I’ve ever had, but I was in no way disappointed. My loco moco was made fresh when I ordered it (except for the gravy and rice) so that was a plus too!
To top it all off, the prices were definitely reasonable. We paid $ 15 for our two plates and were more than satisfied.
All in all, this is an excellent stop for anyone who enjoys a good plate lunch. If you’re wondering about it, I highly recommend you park and grab a bite!

Can’t beat the $ 6 plate lunch. And great service at mapunapuna location across Autoland and next to coca cola. Eat here every day. Special are always good no matter what u get. Recommend everyone to King Kong lunch wagon cannot beat it.

POSITIVES +: NO TAX! $ 5 for a mini plate (which is pretty large) and $ 6 for regular plate. Mini plate gets you a scoop of rice, your choice of mac or toss salad, and one entrée. Regular gets you the same thing plus an extra scoop of rice.
Their portions are huge and looks well prepared and cooked (definitely healthier than Panda Express). This could easily fill you up.
Really yummy tasting :) I always order Garlic Butter Shrimp or Cold Ginger Chicken (my favorites, although their menus change from day to day).
Great service, the lady’s smile always brightens my day :)
NEGATIVES: Only located by Mapunapuna on the weekdays. She parks the food truck right across the street from First Hawaiian Bank and Coca Cola, next to the Toyota company.
Great food for such a low price? You can’t find that anywhere else on the island.

Not bad considering the price! However, you can do better with both quality & selection at numerous other trucks/​restaurants.

This lunch wagon is parked in front of First Hawaiian bank in Mapunapuna. I had the beef stew today and thought it was excellent. Like on reviewer said it was a little salty, but it was still good.
I will definitely check this lunch wagon out again next time I’m in the area.

TOO MUCH SALT! The people are friendly and their food wouldn’t be too bad if they took it easy with the salt. The food wasn’t cooked bad just over seasoned. If you eat here you might go away salty lol.

The King Kong Lunchwagon is parked fronting the Hand-​Van Bldg. on Middle Street in the AM hours. They serve breakfast and plate lunches from that location till about 10am. After 10am, they move over behind the Tesoro Gas Station next to Marukai.
I’ve stopped there many a time for a quick breakfast. They cook your breakfast «made to order» and it has always been very consistent. It’s really not hard to mess up Spam and eggs or bacon and eggs but the two guys in the wagon are friendly and courteous.
