If the review was just for jury duty, I’d give it only 1 star because I dislike having to serve. But that wouldn’t be fair, right? Anyway, the building opens promptly at 7:45 am. There is a TSA-​lite security screening (metal detector and bag X-​ray) but only ONE line so if you’re scheduled for a 7:45 jury orientation (like mine was), you will probably be waiting in line for a while since all of the other prospective jurors are trying to get in at the same time.
There are restrooms on each floor but the 3^rd floor men’s room had a puddle of liquid (really hope it’s water) next to one of the two toilets. Thankfully, the paper towels and toilet tissue were well stocked.
Each floor also has a pair of water fountains but the water pressure is awfully low for most of them. I don’t really want to suck water out of the spout so I tried a bunch of them and found one on the 4^th floor with stronger water pressure.
There is one convenience store on the first floor with soft drinks and some convenience food. No caffeine drinks! Boo! But I guess they don’t want jurors, lawyers, and judges bouncing off the walls.
They warn that the court rooms can get very cold but I didn’t think so. Haven’t needed to use my jacket. It’s on the cool side but not terribly uncomfortably cold.

No one likes court seriously! But you just have to put your big panties on and deal with it. It fairly clean, could look nicer but who cares right?! Its pretty big, you have to go through a metal detector because of some crazy people like hiding stuff. Anyways court is court won’t change, hard to get out of it. Get used to it!

No one really jumps for joy when they receive a jury summons in the mail. My husband has NEVER received one, and I have received 2 in a 1 year period! I would call that unfair.
Security was a breeze, and all potential juror pools convene in a room where instructions are communicated about things such as parking, housekeeping (bathrooms, water, convenience store), and stipend. There was also a 20 minute video explaining how the jury selection process works, which was very informative. I wish that the information and video was available on the internet before we report to the courthouse. To explain where you can park after you have already parked is rather is useless. Did you know the meters are free for jury duty? Just write the name of the judge on the parking ticket when you mail it in. [UPDATE: Actually, I found a letter that accompanied the summons with the FAQs including parking.]
Subsequent to the video, there is roll call for your assigned judge and you go to the courtroom where jury selection takes place. Although there is alot of waiting at some points, it is expected. The judge introduced everyone, even the court secretary, and explained the whole process to us. It was very interesting to sit through the «voir dire» process, and see how the attorneys are preparing to present each side of the case. «Do you what circumstantial evidence is? Would you be able to weigh CE in a case?» I think there may have dismissed 7 people before getting the 12 jurors + 1 alternate. In the end, I was hoping to get selected because the case would have been over in 2 days max; It would have been interesting to go through the entire process.
Although I was not looking forward to reporting for jury duty, I was pleasantly surprised with the overall experience. The facilities are clean and the people are helpful.

Man jury duty sucks. But anyways here are some pointers for anyone doing jury duty at this place.
–Wear a jacket. It is soooo cold in there.
–Try not to wear alot of metal. You do have to go through a metal detector to get in.
–The jury pool is located on the first floor of the courthouse in the front.
–Bring a lunch. There are places to have lunch around there but they are expensive. (If you do have lunch around there I suggest going to Carval Café.)
–Park either on the street or in the parking structure right BEHIND the court house. If you do you will get reimbursed for parking.
–Also be prepared to be competely bored for a couple of days if you are chosen. So bring a book or something to do.
–The only good thing about jury duty is free coffee and tea.
