Walked in one day since I was craving Japanese-ish food. It was awfully crowded and many bentos were already gone before noon, so I grabbed what looked like a decent ahi tempura donburi. When I got back to the office I was disappointed to see mushy tempura and rice. The tsuyu(sauce) wasn’t very tasty, and the ahi pieces weren’t trimmed well so it contained some tough gelatinous parts. Sad face! The complimentary miso soup was decent. it was a tonjiru-style miso soup with root vegetables in it. I don’t think I’ll visit again, as this place does not live up to their name or hype at all.

I am a fan of this place! I would say definitely get the soup — so many yummy veggies in it. I also really liked the spinach dish and mushroom dish. Looking forward to going back and trying new things.

Recently came across this place so I decided to drop in for Friday lunch hour. It’s a homey, no frills kind of hole in the wall shop. I felt like going overboard so I got a a spicy ahi roll with multigrain rice, a few pieces of deep fried sushi, and a croquette bento that came with potato, pumpkin, and a potato salad croquettes along with a piece of chicken and curried veggies. The croquettes were really good and I really like the multi grain rice. While they did have some healthy options a lot of their bento and donburi are, shall we say, indulgent. Overall good meal, definitely would come again.

This is a cute place, but I just didn’t see the appeal. You probably want to visit this place early so you can have as many choices as possible. We went there around noon and there weren’t that many choices left. I opted for a spicy salmon roll and tuna avocado roll($ 2.50 each). When you buy $ 5 or more, you get a free miso soup! The employee(or owner?) will ring you up then hand you a Styrofoam bowl so that you can fill the soup yourself. You can choose rolls with different types of rice like multi-grain, brown, and white. I opted for a spicy salmon roll with white rice and tuna avocado roll with multi-grain rice. I ate the spicy salmon roll first and my first thought was«wow that’s a lot of rice.» There is a LOT of rice in each roll. The ratio of rice to fish is probably 5:1. The spicy salmon roll has chunks of salmon slathered with mayo and a slight spice. There’s too much mayo and rice and too little fish for my liking. The tuna and avocado was slightly better(but not by much). The filling was so sparse compared to rice. The multi-grain rice was nicely flavored though and has a bunch of different textures — I think there’s red bean and peanuts in them. The best part of the meal was the free miso soup. It’s homemade, not like the ones that are made from a packet of powder. There’s a bunch of stuff in the soup as well like gobo, daikon, carrots, onions, etc. which make it extra tasty. The flavors in the soup are so good that I wished I had more of this and less of the rolls I bought. Will I return? Probably not as there are so many other options in downtown. $ 2.50 per roll is pretty pricey for rice(with not a lot of filling).

I wonder how this shop got its name, because they sure don’t serve what they preach for. I had the spicy ahi bowl or should I call it «mayo ahi with mayo?’ The poke was layered with mayo, I might as well take a bottle of mayo and squirt it in my mouth. Oh, I know why they used so much mayo, it’s because the fish was not fresh, therefore they had to cover it. I was very disappointed needless to say, I was hoping for some healthy Japanese home cooking.

I came here on recommendation of a friend. I ordered a spicy tuna bowl and got a free miso soup bc my purchase was over $ 5. Not a bad deal, considering how much ahi you get. I was disappointed though that there was so much connective tissue still attached to the ahi. There was a lot, which made it hard to eat. Also it needed a little more flavor. Finally, 4 hours after I ate there, my stomach got upset. That never happened at Sushi Kahuna!

I love this place for freshly made and delicious sushi rolls. Most of their rolls are $ 2.50 and they are pretty hefty. I can eat one for lunch(I’m a light eater) but two rolls will stuff you. They vary the type of rice too, a roll can be multi-grain rice, brown rice, or white rice. There’s spicy ahi, salmon, california roll, futomaki, rainbow, unagi, and countless others. They also have onigiri, butterfish, bentos, and other daily specials. Order over $ 5 and you get a free miso soup! They accept credit cards :)

Small little shop. Grab and go. This place caters to downtown workers since they can walk here. What I like is that I can grab a California roll for $ 3 when I’m not too hungry. They offer rolls with brown rice, too! Service is good. If you qualify for free miso, you scoop it yourself from the container on the table.

Great joint for the lunch rush. It’s strength lies in it’s delicious, filling hand rolls. The rainbow roll is just fresh, colorful and flavorful. A couple of bentos are available too, all freshly made from the same day. Can’t wait to come back and try more. Cash and credit both accepted

I walked by here and decided to take a peek and to my surprise there were lots of yummy handrolls and ranged from $ 2.00-$ 3:50 per roll! There were many flavors like salmon roll, spicy tuna roll, etc. I decided to try the rainbow roll with multigrain rice and it was delicious! The salmon and ahi were very fresh and it was a great on the go snack! Would definitely love to visit again next time I’m in downtown!

I noticed this place open recently. Finally got myself to go inside to check it out. They have a great variety of hand rolls(which you can get in white or brown rice). They range from $ 2 – 4 depending on what is in the roll. They also offer other foods that looked fried and miso soup. I didn’t get a good look around because I was in a rush to get back to the office. I definitely plan to come back to try more items! The Grub. [[ SPICYSALMONROLL ]] OMG. I am officially in love! This is one of the best salmon rolls I have had in a long time. Very fresh ingredients~ OISHIIIIIII :3 [[ RAINBOWROLL ]] This roll was delicious too! This one had salmon, ahi and avocado on it. Nom Nom Nom. This place is great to grab and go! I was in a rush to get back to the office so this was just what I needed :)
