My boyfriend and I lived on ke’eaumoku for 3 years and always we passed this place, but we never really wanted to try this place because honestly, it looked run down and was next to a shady area. Alas, we tried it and was amazed how tasty the fried chicken bowl was! Love the mini pieces and texture of the chicken. So good with the sauce!!!(Sriracha, mayo, Teri sauce?) good size bowl for good price. The guy(Bigger younger guy?) cashier might come off as snobby but he’s super cool. Place gets crazy hectic and might wait long if you come a busy time. I see why though! We’re gonna try exploring their other items — heard their fried chicken by itself is good!

Excellent chicken, liked the garlic style best. Radishes are good balance for the chicken. Cabbage salad and corn salad were both average. But the chicken makes it worth it

My second time here. The fist time I came and got the fried chicken bowl with rice. It comes with teriyaki sauce and spicy mayo sauce. I shared that with my mom based on the review that it was a lot of food. It was plain. Just fried chicken with sauce. I don’t think the chicken had any salt or seasoning. We both ate half and the other half is still sitting in the fridge. Today decided to try the beef bowl or bul go gi. My mom thought this one was much better. Marinated beef stir fried with round onions. The sauce with a sweet and salty combination that enhanced the flavor of the rice. Makes me think of Mongolian beef. There was a sign that said their busy time is 5pm to 8pm so long lines. Make note and don’t go that time. I was there at 11:30am and 3pm and there was a short line of two ahead of me. $ 6 for a nice bowl of food and a soda of your choice is hard to complain about. I think it’s a little more than a meal for one but definitely not enough to for two. Second persons would get five bites and that’s about it. To each their own. I wasn’t a fan of the chicken bowl rather the beef bowl. I will try the half fried chicken next time. The name is memorable but why? Why Itchy Butt?

The family laughed and said no way when I told them the name of this place. We decided we needed to make the effort to go just to get pics to post on Unilocal to prove the name was real! After reading other reviews it cemented the fact we had to try this place. The Man and I navigated our way around unfamiliar territory Honolulu and found it. There was a small line ahead of us which was good it gave us time to decide what we wanted. The board outside is not really clear it has pictures and the writing is smearing off there is another board inside though and is easily readable. Prices are extremely reasonable a fried chicken bowl with a canned drink is 6 $ Bulgogi Bowl with canned drink is also 6 $ The Man & I ordered one of each and shared both were prepared very well. And we had plenty of food and leftovers. The guys who work/own the place are no nonsense so don’t be stupid they won’t put up with it. Yeah don’t expect frilly, fluffy service but you can expect basic, good food. It make not be the fastest but once you know the menu you can call ahead and order then pick it up. We look forward to going back our next trip and recommend.

I would give this place 5 stars but I have to knock them down for the service. The dude at the window when I ordered was either hella rude or he couldn’t understand English clearly, I’ll never know but it wasn’t helpful or friendly when I was trying to order. I also knocked this place down for the lack of parking even though I was able to find a spot and for the wait time. It seemed like forever waiting for 1 spicy chicken bowl but I didn’t say anything because I was trying to be understanding knowing they’re cooking the food on the spot which is why they have 4 stars. You can tell everything is fresh and made as ordered I was kind of disappointed in the lack of spice I felt the bowl had. However, my brother in law ordered the chicken wings that come with the fried cheese and it was bomb! My niece and cousin also inhaled the bulgogi because they said it was that good. Regardless, for the quality, amount of food, and price I’m coming back here. Maybe I’ll figure out what’s wrong with the guy lol.

Why have I not eaten here sooner?! This place is so good! My boyfriend and I decided to try this place and ordered the whole chicken with half garlic and half korean chicken. We phoned in our order and the guy told us to pick up at 7:30. I was a bit confused because he didn’t get my name or anything, but we headed down there anyways. This place is literally a hole in the wall. There is no seating, and I parked on the street. I definitely recommend to call in your order. There is even a sign on the window that says their«busy times are from 5:00 — 8:00 and the wait is lonnnng». We live in Salt Lake and we didn’t want to wait til we got home to eat our dinner. So what do we do? We drove to Ala Moana and ate our food at the food court. I personally favored the garlic chicken over the korean seasoned chicken. The corn and the radish that they gave us on the side was tasty and addicting. I also really loved the fried cheese roll-ups that was in the box with the chicken. It reminded me of the cheese wontons that you can get from Gyu-kaku. SOGOOD. I definitely recommend this place, just remember to phone in your order!

Bomb food, friendly people, awesome prices!!! This is now my go-to place when I am in the mood for something cheap and delicious. The fried chicken and spicy pork bowls are all I’ve tried so far and they are soooo good. The fried chicken has good flavor and is topped with a Teri mayo– yum! The spicy pork bowl is my favorite– spicy but not overpowering with some sweetness Portions are huge– I’ve never been able to finish an entire bowl– and only cost $ 6 and includes a drink. Downsides: — parking– have to park on the road and it’s usually packed so park walking is a better option — the wait. If you call ahead, no problem. They even have a sign up front saying that you should call in advance and their dinner rush is nuts! — service: a few times, the girl at the counter was nice but the last time i went, the guy at the counter didn’t even male eye contact — he was on his phone and looking across the street.

Emolynne R.‘s review on 1÷11÷16 says it better than I ever could. Hit this place up every other week. Big portions, authentic non-fancy good fried chicken(no idea what Korean style is but their original is on par with what I grew up on in Missouri), lots included extra food(drink, cheese sticks, salad, pickled raddish), what’s not to like. Hell my kid would give this place 6 stars; as bonus even has parking. Well def repeat, next week even :)

Get the spicy pork bowl. Perfect for a great snack before a Honolulu museum event(all the places around said museum are boring and pricey). This bowl is hardy portion of complex and tender pork served w/delicious rice. There is surely fat(just a tad), but it’s in all the right places. I add an egg for less than 50 cents or so. It comes with a free soda. Score! And that name…

To-go only. No jokes about the name because I have nothing original to say. Delicious food made to order and it comes with drinks. The first time I came here I got the beef bulgogi and my bf got the pork curry katsu. He wanted to get a grilled chicken plate, but they only offer fried chicken. Although the bulgogi was salty, the meat was good. Dish contained meat, onions, some rice with gravy, and not much else. No other seasonings or vegetables that I am used to getting in my bulgogi, but I guess I can’t complain too much since it was less than $ 10. Service was more attentive since it wasn’t busy. Second time here the food was better. We got a half order of KFC(Korian fried chicken). This was delicious! It comes with three pieces of fried cheese, corn, and some radish. Good meal for 2 – 3 people to share. I brought my own rice. Fried cheesy goodness was so wonderful, and the chicken was fresh and delicious as well. Service from the same person was less attentive because it was busier. My two gripes are that the parking lot is small and the menu is pretty hard to navigate. It is disorganized, unofficial-looking, and some of the writing is worn off the window, so you can’t always easily identify a dish name or price. However, the food is enjoyable. My verdict: The KFC is their specialty and it’s bomb. Anything else is just okay.

Big portions, cheap prices, delicious food, and located in the heart of town? This restaurant is a UH Manoa college kid’s dream made real. Itchy Butt is located at the very end of Keaumoku street just before the bridge that leads to the Makiki U-turn to get onto the H-1. But don’t get on the freeway just yet– grabbing a bowl or a fried chicken set is the meal you’ll want before settling down at home and wondering what you’re going to eat for dinner. They take phone orders, which I recommend so you can just grab and go. But even when I stop by multiple times without ordering in advance, I haven’t had to wait more than 10 minutes for a bowl or 20 minutes for the fried chicken plates. All bowls range from $ 5-$ 7, are generous for one person, meat laid atop a bed of fluffy rice, and one drink provided; so it’s well worth the price. Again if you’re a struggling college student like me, these prices will make you cry happy tears. The highlight of this place is the LEGITKOREANFRIEDCHICKEN!(Koreans truly know their fried chicken). The bulgogi, pork katsu curry, and spam/egg bowls are good, but nothing will beat the perfect, crispy, juicy fried chicken. The chicken bowl comes with a shoyu and spicy mayo combo drizzled on top. Each bowl is made fresh to order and is steaming hot when it comes out. Generous portions for the price. The love of my life. Side note: I believe the Korean fried chicken plates sometimes have peanuts on top. Peanut allergy people beware!(I feel you) Parking is not too hard. Although there is a very small amount of stalls that multiple business must share, usually one or two stalls are open when I drive by. If they aren’t open, street parking with meters are available around the block. Come to Itchy Butt and indulge in the best Korean fried chicken you’ll ever eat in your life. You’ll never go back to a KFC ever again.

Picked up my order and found out it came with a drink. Aunty who served me was very sweet, kind, and attentive. I didn’t have to wait when I got their to pick up my order. It’s nice to have places that have decently portioned food for reasonable prices. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends. I’m definitely going to continue going their when I’m craving some pork and rice. MAHALOITCHYBUTT! YOURFOODWASSOONOLICIOUS!!!

Good food. Good prices. Call ahead to minimize wait time. They cook the chicken when you order so be prepared to wait about 25 minutes at the least. We ordered the half chicken plate and the chicken bowl. Both was very tasty and portions were big. Chicken bowl had some spicy mayo and teriyaki sauce drizzled on it. $ 6 came with a drink. My mouth is really sensitive so the mayo made my lips burn but it was still good!

It’s hard to choose which is better: Itchy Butt or Popeye’s. If you’re looking for Korean style chicken(spicy and delicious), then get your fair share of delicious fried chicken here. There’s no seating and they have a very small parking lot. But who doesn’t love sitting on the couch and munching on fried chicken while watching TV anyway? The rice bowls are also yummy and are affordable, at around $ 5~$ 7. The spam and egg rice bowl with kimchi is only $ 5 with a drink. The bulgogi rice bowl and the garlic chicken is also very popular. For $ 12, a set includes: ½ chicken(fried or korean style), fried cheese, a soda, salad, korean style radish, and a cup corn, which is a really good deal. They did take a bit as it is freshly fried, so be sure to either call in your order or avoid the busy lunch hour. The Korean style chicken bowl was pretty spicy, which I guess the radish is supposed to help soothe your burning tongue while you’re madly wolfing down your chicken: bone and all. I will definitely be back as soon as I can but be warned: consuming food from Itchy Butt will lead to a kanak attack.

Itchy Butt, after this place opened, We came back from our family trip,(California) After eating our lobsters on our trip. My son made up this song about the lobsters butt. & Its funny that this place open & this reminds me of my son’s song every time. Note: please don’t get offended by this song. Per my son’s song– Your butt so itchy Your butt so stink but I ate the lobster butt & it was good! I made an adjustment to his song, Your butt so itchy Your butt so stink but I ate at Itchy Butt & it was good! Yes, eating at Itchy Butt was good! I finally had a chance to try out this place. after Nat N’s ROTD, I had this place bookmarked. I always drive pass Itchy Butt, on my way to Keaumouku. Last week when my nephew, mentioned the chicken bowl @ Itchy Butt You had me at Chicken Bowl! Itchy butt is located at the end of Keaumoku. If you are coming from Ala Moana, drive all the to the other end of Keaumoku. It will be on your right before you hit the bridge. Itchy Butt is on the same complex with a few other shops. The shop will be on your left corner. You won’t miss it as you will see the sign Itchy Butt with a cute little chick. There are menus and picture posted on the front of shop, as well as the back of the shop. It really is hard making a decision, I just wanted to try the chicken bowl. What a deal! 6.00 for a bowl of rice with chicken on top. with a can drink.(soda or juice) The chicken bowl is HUGE! & a DEAL! The bowl consist of Rice on the bottom with teriyaki sauce & lots of bite sized fried chicken drizzled with Spicy Mayo sauce. This is very yummy! The chicken reminds me of popcorn chicken but more fancy. It was really delicious. I was too afraid to ask the cashier/owner, why? why? Why do you name your shop Itchy Butt? The only CONs here at Itchy Butt: PARKING! it is very limited, only less than 7 stalls. note: you will have a hard time leaving the parking lot. When you reverse your car on to Keaumoku st. & You can’t enjoy your food at the establishment. I couldn’t finish my chicken bowl, I ate half & was already full. Tip: best to get sauce on the side, The chicken and rice won’t be soggy from the sauce. Over-all, I really enjoyed my Chicken bowl, I will be back for more! Go Check out Itchy Butt because it was GOOD!

Food is very cheap in Thailand so I’m at awe with some of the prices of food here in Hawaii. I like finding new restaurants here that offer great food at a reasonable price. It’s not very often I find a place I like but I was in luck with Itchy Butt! They have very tasty food at very good prices. I’m so happy to have found Itchy Butt because they have so many items to choose from on their menu and everything is very affordable. All the items are very filling and often times, I have leftovers. The name is very easy to remember and the location is easy to find. They are also open late so we can avoid traffic on Keeaumoku during rush hour. The parking lot is small and doesn’t have many stalls. You also have to wait awhile if you order the fried chicken. It’s worth the wait but I wish that they have seating there while you wait or tables to dine at after ordering. It is a take out restaurant so keep that in mind when you come. I recommend them if you’re looking for generous portions of good tasting food that doesn’t cost too much.

Why yes, that name makes you do a double take! What what what??? Why would anyone want to come to a place that has itchy and butt in the name?! I’ll tell you why, it’s got great food! It never fails, I am always itching to go here after work. TIPS: Make a phone order so you don’t have to wait! Food is made to order! Credit Cards accepted yay!!!
Pros: The price is affordable. You can get their food bowls for $ 6 and it comes with a drink. They offer a variety of food choices/bowls. My favorite is there chicken bowl with spicy mayo. The fried chicken is another favorite. It’s crispy, juicy and seasoned well. The size of the bowls look deceiving. You think that it’s a small bowl, until you find out they compacted it tightly that it’s a generous portion. My kids love the fried chicken platter here, so it is also kid approved! It’s a step up from KFC to me! Cons: There is VERY limited parking. It’s also in this corner lot on Beretania and Keeaumoku. It’s not the easiest to back out of for you not so great at reversing to busy traffic people. There is side street parking, but like I said… it’s pretty limited. There is no seating or tables available. Don’t think of this place at a dining place to sit down and meet a friend. It’s definitely more for grab and go. There is a little of a wait for the food, which would be ok if there was seating. The last time I went there was two seats, which is not enough when there is a line. I avoid this by calling in my order. Overall it’s a great place to pick up food if you are on your way.

How could you not want to eat at a place with such a cute name and an even cuter mascot on their sign to match? A chicken in sunglasses making a shaka and scratching his butt! Too funny! Even if this place was not deliciously wonderful, I would have been glad to have visited them just to say that I went to Itchy Butt. This place is a get in and get out kind of place. Their menu isn’t very long, but that’s okay because it’s very easy to make a choice. Their fried chicken bowl immediately caught my eye. One bowl and a drink for $ 6…what a steal! The wait seemed a little long, but it’s good to know that they’re making it right there and then for you. There’s no place to sit and eat, so you better have a dining area planned before you decide on what you want to order. You don’t want to make their good food get cold! I HIGHLY recommend the fried chicken bowl. Very large portion… yummy creamy sauce on top of the chicken… pieces are boneless(woooooohoooo!). I really can’t recommend anything else because even my friend who has been here before ordered the same thing. I must say that it was EXTREMELY satisfying. The chicken pieces were very tasty and soft. I’m interested in trying the other items on the menu, but I very much want another fried chicken bowl very soon!

It’s crazy to name a restaurant Itchy Butt, but you have to admit — it does catch your attention, doesn’t it? Thanks to Unilocal,I knew to call in my order ahead of time, since almost everyone mentions that the food comes out at a snail’s pace. I called in my order just before 4pm. They told me my pick up time would be 4:20, but when I arrived at 4:25 I still had to wait about 10 minutes in the blazing hot sun for them to pack it all up. They have 6 different flavors of fried chicken: regular, korean seasoned, garlic, green onion, shoyu, and spicy. You can either order a full chicken of one flavor, half order of one flavor, or mix it up with a half and half(you can choose 2 flavors). A whole chicken is $ 22, half is $ 12, and the half and half is $ 22. Two people can easily share a whole chicken or half and half with a few pieces leftover. All chicken orders come with fried cheese sticks, one soda, salad, sauces, korean style radish, and corn. For the amount of food you get, including the sides, the prices are very reasonable. We tried the garlic, korean seasoned, and regular fried chicken, and I thought the garlic and regular fried chicken were winners. I didn’t try the korean because my friend’s said it had kick to it(so if you don’t like spicy hot, don’t order the korean seasoned). I also ordered a bulgogi bowl($ 6) and it was excellent. The beef was very tender and not super fatty. Generous portions for $ 6. The only bummer part is that the fried chicken used to come with potato wedges but now they come with deep fried cheese sticks. I would definitely come here again, and in case you were wondering, I didn’t get an itchy butt after my meal!
