DITTO, BEST PLUMBER in Honolulu! Tom has been our plumber for four years. We used him to completely redo the plumbing in our home, and also to redo parts of our gas line. We own a house and a condo, and he has been helpful for repairs on both. He is very reliable, professional and easy to work with. He is always very professional, and I have recommended him to friends, realtors, and my condo manager.

The owner Tom is a no frills plumber. He can be a little gruff when stressed but he’s a one man show and answers his own phone and does his own scheduling. One thing I’ve noticed is that if he says he’ll do something, his word is gold. He’ll work to get the job done, even if it means late into the evening. I had him repair my sink and a leaky toilet. He does a thorough job and cleans up after he’s done. The best part is, his prices are reasonable. I highly recommend Iron Horse Plumbing.
A few months later…
I really thought I found a plumber who was reasonably priced and conscientious. Sorry to report that the owner Tom lacks professional courtesy. I called and inquired about a sprinkler leakage problem and he said he could come the next day. The day he was supposed to show up, he texts to cancel saying he can’t make it and call him the next day. I dutifully call, and text him. No response. Finally I call in the afternoon and he gives me a lame excuse about not being able to come because he got delayed at the bank and it was too late in the day. Too late? He’s been over at my house at 5:30pm before! Why don’t these people just tell me if they aren’t qualified to do the job, then I wouldn’t wait around all day thinking they will come over?! If he was just up front with me, I would’ve found someone else right away.

Plumber: Hi
Me: Hi, my toilet and bathtub is clogged. I need a plumber asap.
Plumber: Ok… where you at?
Me: I’m on Date street.
Plumber: Where?
Me: Date street.
(Pause)
Me: So are you available or is your schedule full?
Plumber: I’m actually off island. If this is an emergency you should call (mumbling)
Me: Hello? (no answer)
So, to sum it up, this guy was very unprofessional on the phone. And is it so hard to say «Where do you live» instead of «Where you at?» I don’t know, when he said that I immediately felt like I had the wrong guy. Totally left me with this bad impression on him. Will NOT recommend at all!

If you need a good plumber, Tom is the guy to call. He’s reliable, friendly, efficient, trustworthy and very nice. He’s super easy going and is very helpful to figure out what is wrong. He won’t charge you over $ 100 just to take a look. He’s fixed a valve in our bathroom and a water heater at my work. My work project took three visits and some testing and in the end, he only charged me $ 125.00. And if he could not fix it, he was not going to charge me!
