What to say about this place, I didn’t hate it, the hairstylist did an okay job on my hair, I asked for a trim to cut off dead ends an she did fine. It was just not fantastic, and it wasn’t clean, but they were nice enough and gave me a discount on product… Hohum.

If I shall be so blunt, I will say that I hate this place and will never recommend it. Moms always said not to say anything if I didn’t have anything nice to say. So I will just say this: 1. My hair was«too long,» so I had to STAND during my ENTIRE hair cut. 2. I asked for a TRIM to cut away all of the DEAD stuff. And what did I get? My hair, which was about an inch past my butt in length, got chopped off to medium length. Question: How does asking for a «trim» result in getting my hair cut to medium length? NEVER. AGAIN.

Waste of money on my shampoo&conditioner. Oh by the way; No exchange or refund… Thanks a lot.

I come here to cut my hair all the time. The place is small and quiet. The price is average and the quality is good for my style of cut. I go to Randi, probably the youngest stylist there — since most of the ladies there are ancient. She’s great. I’d recommend going to her, but don’t fill up her calendar because I need openings for my hair too. haha!

My hairstylist Randi did a gorgeous job on my hair here! I had a wedding to go to and I wanted to put it up. I didn’t really care how it was styled as long as it looked good so I left her to play with it. She ended up doing a half up to the side sorta look and curled my hair as well. I had some cheap fake plumeria flowers which she added to my hair as well. I loved the way it turned out! And for $ 35! For being in a mall I was afraid it’d be like $ 50.

Mediocre. Not great, but not horrible. I got June – nice lady who’s been cutting hair for over 30 years. I asked her for a relayering and to thin out my hair to take weight off(I have THICK hair). She took her time, and didn’t talk much(which I prefer). She charged me $ 30 for layering, trim, thinning out, and bangs. I think she might’ve given me that rate because she ended up fishing out that I’m in college, so I’m poor. The store is really messy and unorganized. Could use some cleaning. I was a little sketched out by the instruments June used because she just pulled them out of a makeup bag on her cluttered workspace… so yeah. For a place in Ala Moana, it’s definitely lower-end, and I think they sort of overcharge.

Having missed my appointment at Salon 808, the nearest salon that popped up on Unilocal was Hino’s. As I walked in to ask the front desk if a walk in was okay, I noticed there was one young lady and the rest were older ladies. Now, reading the previous review written by Leano, I must admit I was afraid that it might be too old school as it seemed to service to a more senior clientele. I was introduced to June as my stylist, and to be honest, she seemed to be a little angry, as the consultation was kept short and really no small talk was made. About ten minutes into the cut, she made short talk, and I found out she was Korean, like myself! She was very nice and personable once she opened up. The hair session took about an hour, and was satisfied with the result. I must say Leano, I’m glad I didn’t take your review seriously! For $ 19.00, I’m a happy camper!

I love getting my hair done there. It always turns out EXACTLY the way I imagined. However I have to agree with one of these fellow Unilocalers that they do add little things to your bill. Like deep conditioning, bang trims, etc when it was not asked for, then you end up with a higher bill.

this is the worse hair salon i’ve ever been in. The old ladies that cut hair are nice, but their skill is just like their age – old, old, old, old, old. I went there 2 days ago trying to get my hair layered. I said I wanted to keep the length since I love my long hair but instead the lady cut 5 inches of my hair off. One girl named Carrie used to work there, she was the best even though she only cut my hair once. If anyone knows which salon she’s at please let me know, maybe she can fix my hair.
