My family and I love this place. I have meetings nearby sometimes and we eat here several times. Tasty, inexpensive, and very chill. Not a true be-seated-and-eat restaurant, but definitely a great hang-with family/friends-and enjoy-good-food place or grab-a-bite-and-go place.

Great food and drink! Very tasty breakfast foods and a big variety as well. Great and fresh ingredients. The tea, coffee, and smoothie drinks were also really tasty! A bit small inside and out, but still a nice place to sit and eat. The hours listed on Unilocal were incorrect, however. It was closed Saturday afternoon.

I love this place! Only been twice but I don’t get into town often. I first had the quinoa pizza, which was a little spicy but so good. The second time I decided to take my pizza to the beach. I ordered the tofu pizza with spinach. So yummy! I was a little upset I didn’t order 2! I love the atmosphere here, it’s very laid back and the staff is super chill. I’ll be back!!!

What an amazing Gem in Waikiki, we visited today for the first time and everything was incredibly amazing! Thank you very much for such an outstanding customer service and delicious food. I laugh after reading some reviews and people are comparing this food with Costco food, keep going to Costco and eat there then keep doing the great and delicious food you do. Thank you again

Went there with family. Smoothies: my son loved his dragonfruit smoothie. My husband and I drank their home-made ginger soda with mint leaves: awesome and refreshing, even the next day. Ambience: casual cute hiking gear and muddy footprint wall motif, health-conscious menu items, great for vegetarians, great for foodies as well. Air conditioned(but not to excess), which was actually a good thing on this day — we have a tropical storm heading this way and it’s hot and humid. More than that, though: people who have lived in Hawaii for decades and never had A/C are now buying A/C for their homes, for summer. Good music, run from their laptop at a small station in the corner. Hiking and surfing maps in a little basket so you can plan your trips at the tiny, tiny tables while awaiting your delicious lunch or breakfast. Their pulled-pork pizza looks a little scary(pureed pinkish-brownish stuff) but close your eyes — omg the pork is so well-cooked and flavorful it’s totally addictive. My son had a turkey panini and still managed to scarf two of our shared pizza slices because of the so-ono pork! They have very fresh ingredients delivered daily and sometimes in the middle of the day as well. Downside is that the building they are in is undergoing renovation(looks like very few commercial enterprises are still in residence) and the only working restroom is across the street toward the beach in a pedestrian pass-thru mall/coffee shop. This works because people are used to things being broken and helping each other out, I guess, which is cool, but it is going to strike some folk as a long hike to wash hands… at least until the regular restroom is resuscitated. I can understand the reviewers who wrote about the girls working there: there’s a healthy, savvy, hiking-friendly vibe to the employees as well as the space!

This is a good place to come if your looking for a quick/small bite to eat that is not overly priced in Waikiki. I had the Acai smoothie which I strongly recommend, much better than your average Jamba Juice smoothie. I also recommend the Italian panini. The food is very flavorful, this is not your average tourist restaurant but I still recommend going here whether your tourist or not. There is limited seating but you can sit inside or outside and like most places they do have free wifi. For the most part the staff is very friendly, if you have any questions just ask them.

I wish I had found this gem on our first day in Honolulu and not on the way to the airport. The girls were very delightful and the food was AMAZING. The breakfast pizza was perfect! It was so good, I grabbed a salad to go to eat on the plane! My wife still talks about the lemonade! A+++++ all around!

We came here for some brunch, excited after hearing such rave reviews. The staff seemed very patient with the people ahead of us, answering questions about the menu. The menu was extensive and interesting. I got the cucumber lemonade and the potato breakfast pizza. The drink was super refreshing and not too sweet. The pizza was a bit bland, so I asked for some ketchup. The thin crust was very crispy and nice. Overall, the food was fairly good and the service lackluster. #100in2015(#49)

Hiking Hawaii Café is a cool little spot in Waikiki that offers all your healthy faves like wraps, sandwiches, acai bowls and yes-hiking tours. Well, I shouldn’t really call it «little» as there is ample seating both in and outdoors and has a larger space compared to many casual restaurants in Waikiki. You can easily miss the café if you’re not looking close enough. They’re located under the old Todai restaurant and down the stairs so if you’re driving past, most of their restaurant is hidden by the wall next to the stairs. Ambiance I absolutely love the outdoorsy but comforting look and feel to the café. There are muddy footprints on the wall, blackboards for menus with neatly printed menu items in colored chalk. Different seating options are available: indoor, outdoor, table, bench and high stools. The table and bench seating have pillows on them for comfort. There are magazines to peruse and my personal favorite, the surf map placemats on some of the tables that detail the different beaches on Oahu. Food & Drink Breakfast is available and they offer bagel sandwiches, egg scrambles and even breakfast pizza! I haven’t had the chance to do breakfast there yet but the breakfast pizza is next on my list. For lunch and dinner, they have a wide variety of wraps, salads, pizza and bowls. They also have smoothies available and there are a lot of healthy options like having gluten-free food for an extra dollar. They have a house iced-tea which is unsweetened and has a tropical flavor to it. There are free refills on the iced tea! Thai Chicken Wrap 4⁄5 Very tasty with a little kick to it. The peanut sauce is a bit spicy and the red onions give it that extra spiciness as they load the wrap generously with the red onions. I usually don’t care for red onions but they made all of the ingredients work and the wrap is tasty yet healthy. Acai Bowl 2.5÷5 I love acai bowls and what their acai bowls are made of aren’t too different from other businesses-granola, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, and honey. The only thing I didn’t care for was the acai-the ingredient that makes the bowl! Their acai is really light and frothy, like a smoothie consistency so I’m thinking there is very little acai that they use and more soy milk or whatever it is that they use to blend their acai. I prefer more of a dense acai bowl and don’t care for the whipped consistency. Pitaya Bowl 4.5÷5 I actually had my first dragon fruit bowl from Hiking Hawaii Café and I think so far, theirs is my favorite. The bowl is refreshing and consists of the usual bananas, granolas, honey but they also add pineapple and kiwi. It’s definitely a nice refreshing treat that’s perfect any time of the day. Hiking Tours There are both daily hiking tours and private hiking tours available and they include Makapu‘u, Kiluouou, Manoa Falls, and Diamond Head. I think this is a great option for tourists to explore the island but for locals, these trails are easy to find and not too difficult to trek so for locals, I would suggest saving your money and tours can get pricey. Merchandise In addition to the muddy footprints that decorate the café’s walls, they have hats and water bottles/flasks that hang from the ceiling for sale. They also sell sunscreen, bags and some other random items. Customer Service I’ve gotten mixed customer service and the great service I receive is always from the same female who seems to be the manager or the owner of the café. There is a mixture of no-personality and non-smiling employees at times but the constant is definitely the woman I mentioned who is really attentive, informative and graciously offers to refill my iced tea for free. Overall, Hiking Hawaii Café is perfect spot for both tourists and locals who would like to eat well but with healthy options. They offer a 10% Kama‘aina discount but aren’t always upfront about it. The parking in the area isn’t the greatest but nothing new for us locals as parking always seems to be an issue in Waikiki.

this is not the place to go for acai bowls. I’m a SoCal girl who’s used to Nekter, Ubatuba, and Juice It Up. Yesterday we tried Tropical Tribe and it was delicious but we wanted to keep trying new things so we tried this place. When you walk in you have to walk down into the café and the people there are very nice but you can’t customize your bowl which was problem number one. Problem #2 was the consistency of the bowl. It tasted like frozen yogurt/ice cream. I was not about it at all. I ended up throwing it away. The granola was kind of merp as well. I see why people come here. the food looks good but again, not the place for acai bowls. In my opinion.

I’m not sure if I would venture to this part of Waikiki specifically to return here but I am really glad they are open and were located right next to the hotel where I was attending a training. I was a bit skeptical before my visit — It is an interesting concept they’ve got going on, promoting hikes and tours as well — from my experience, places that offer more than one type of service are usually lacking in one or the other. Their food is pretty decent, which came as a surprise. They are located on the ground floor(i.e. go down the steps from street level of the commercial building, you’ll see some outside seating and umbrellas outside of their door). The woman whom helped me was very sweet and after taking my order quickly created my thai chicken wrap in just a couple of minutes. It was fresh and full of flavor, with a spicy thai peanut dressing, lots of veggies and well-balanced with the chicken. I wish they were closer to my work as this would be a tasty and healthy place to pick up lunch! They offer Kama’aina discount, I’m not sure exactly what it was, perhaps about 10% as far as I can remember.

We went here for a quick lunch before our red eye flight. It was surprisingly really good. We got a pizza and the crust was different, very thin, some type of pita bread or something, but very tasty. The acai bowl was huge and refreshing. Location is good, within walking distance of Waikiki and Ala Moana, also close to the beach. The staff seemed very nice and friendly What I ordered: — Sausage pizza(sausage, basil, marinara, tomato, cheese, and added jalapenos) — Acai bowl Pros: — Location — Fresh ingredients Cons: — Nothing

Great place for breakfast! Yummy acai bowl/pitaya bowl Also super generous and filling breakfast burrito However the quantity of the fruits in the bowl seems to vary greatly(mine was super little compared to what others got in their bowls in Unilocal

4 stars for the service. 5 stars for their unique menu items that are surprisingly delicious, like their breakfast meat pizza. Small café located downstairs so it can be easy to pass by. They have numbers to give to their customers, but it seemed as though they’re not using it to their benefit. They still came up to customers with the incorrect order or forgot a customers order. If they’re giving numbers to customers for their order, at least use it to your benefit and use those numbers to give the correct order in a timely manner. Regardless of their lack of efficiency, their food was great. The breakfast pizza was amazing and their kona mud was refreshing. Their acaí bowl is good enough for 2. I would recommend this place for a quick breakfast, lunch or snack.

Parking: no The cost: $ 10/person The food: acai bowl, kona mud, breakfast pizza I’m not sure what it is about this place that makes me like it so much, but I never get tired of coming here! It’s located on Ala Moana near the Hilton Hawaiian Village and next to the Todai. It’s a little hard to spot on the street but you have to go down some stairs to get there. Once in, there’s a variety of seating including benches, hightops, tables, and couches. The best thing I’ve had here is definitely the breakfast pizza. It may sound a little strange to have egg on your pizza, but I promise you it’s the best thing to happen to pizza. The crust is thin and crispy. The secret to their acai bowl I think is their home-made granola that uplifts it from the competition and the kona mud is a nice frappé like drink. I hear they also offer hikes(ergo the name). I don’t know much about this unfortunately. Overall, a very nice establishment. Come for a quick bite or a short casual meal. The breakfast pizza, acai bowl, and kona mud are a must.

I’m sorry, but I don’t see the hype with this place. =/I could have just ordered the wrong thing. My friends ordered things like the wraps, salads, and paninis which looked delicious. I ordered the acai bowl. It is HUGE and comes in a giant ice cream shop type bowl. For the size, it’s a pretty good value even at $ 8.95, especially with the kamaaina discount. However, the acai blend didn’t really appeal to me. It’s definitely not one of the better acai blends I’ve had. The fruits, however, were really fresh tasting. I wasn’t a huge fan of the homemade granola either, which I even ordered extra for my bowl in anticipation. Their granola has cranberries and coconut mixed into it. I guess I’m a simpleton, because I prefer just plain granola without all that extra stuff added into it. What lost this place stars was the slow customer service to get rung up at the register. In addition, I specifically told the girl who rang me up to please not put coconut on my acai bowl. She said there was coconut already mixed into their granola, so I told her that was okay since they can’t take the coconut out of their pre-made granola. The problem was that after I told her that, I just asked her to make sure that EXTRA coconut was not put on my acai bowl. Of course, when my acai bowl arrived, it was COVERED in coconut shavings. I thought I made it really clear I didn’t want extra coconut other than the coconut already in the granola that was pre-made? Apparently the girl who took my order never communicated with the girl who made my bowl that I said no added coconut. I’ve never sent back food before(unless someone completely gives me the wrong dish), but I did have to send the acai bowl back as I really can’t stand coconut. This might seem like a small deal to some people, but it was a little annoying that I specifically asked not to have something and they put it anyway. =/

Hidden location, but I sure recommend it for some delicious acai bowls! Went here with my parents and had breakfast before venturing out to the other side of the island. WEORDERED: — — — — — — – Acai Bowl — Big bowl of freshly sliced fruits(bananas and blueberries with their house made granola). This was exactly what I needed to start our long day! Eggs Scrambled — Create your own choosing four ingredients! This turned out good! Ham Bagel Sandwich — *thumbs up* Overall, this place offers pretty good breakfast food! You can also customize some of the stuff on their menu(ex: smoothies, scrambled eggs, and etc…) TIP: Hiking Hawaii also offers private tours around the island!

Awesome paninis, breakfast food, pizza, delicious acai bowls, oh my! I LOVE this place. The food is tasty and quality, pricing is reasonable, staff is super friendly, helpful and awesome. The best part for me though is the ‘vibe.’ It’s comfy and inviting. Super chill and friendly. People come young and old, tourists and locals, and everyone seems happy. Sometimes a cute shitzu hangs out there, too. :) Finally, cherry on top?! FREEWIFI! :)
