Great Aloha Run

This was my first year running in the GAR. I have been interested for years but never thought I’d be able to finish. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love to run — but recent medical conditions with my feet have gotten in the way. That aside, I decided I would push through it because a lovely friend of mine was able to get me a free entry through her work! This made me accountable… so 8 miles, here I came!
I think from registration to Finish Line, this was a wonderful event. The Expo was very informative and fun. I loved that with your registration, you received discounted parking for the Expo at the Blaisdell ($ 2) and FREE entry into the Expo. There were plenty of booths/​vendors set up with great products and chances to win, but my running partner and I were on a time limit and didn’t get to spend much time perusing.
The race was amazing. I made it! I especially loved the local bands along the route that really pushed me along (I am/​was a band geek so I appreciated this). Water was readily available at many aid stations and so was Red Bull! I normally don’t drink Red Bull, but you bet your bottom I did this time! I woke up at 3am!
The GAR definitely stole my heart and I will be running in many more to come… hopefully with a better finish time each run!
Unilocal Challenge #4/​100

First year entering our son and his friends in the Great Aloha Run. We were really worried about the drop off and pick up of the boys along with how it would be picking up their registration packet and bib at the Blaisdell. Well, glad to report, it was great and very well organized. Thank you. Looking forward to entering in the future, hopefully more of us next time.

If you can’t make pickups at the Blaisdel you can pick it up on the day of.

We are huge fans and annual participants of the Great Aloha Run!
This is well organized event and a ton of FUN!!!
Last year our GAR Team ran costumed as NINJAS!!! We took many photos with participants and even got our photo featured in the GAR official race magazine!
The Great Aloha Run is an event that we would recommend for the entire Family!
