As an upper-end jewelry story, I expected great service. For Christmas, I received a bangle bracelets that wasn’t my style so I decided to head on over to the Waikiki location to make a swap. Holy moly, awfulness! I was greeted by an Asian man who was very kind and told me to wait until the Sales Associate was ready. Then, the Australian blonde woman came up to me and immediately said, «I hear you want to make a return. It’s January, you can’t make a return for that anymore.» My boyfriend said to her very kindly, I was informed that I could make an exchange in early January because this was a Christmas gift. She rolled her eyes(!!!) and said«oh, I forgot.» Then came the choices… (p.s. as a woman, I often feel like shopping for jewelry should be a pleasant/awesome experience. i felt rushed and as if she were breathing down my neck… mind you, no one else was there.) I told her that I really love their rings and was looking to swap. I said I like things that are pretty simply but also with a girly flair. She kept bringing out other gaudy bracelets, and large cocktail rings. My boyfriend and I were trying to stay as positive as possible, but hot damn it was difficult with her bringing out earrings(after I told her that I don’t have my ears pierced.) Finally, I decided on this really cute bow ring. She said: «that’s more expensive than the bracelet.» To which I responded: «that’s okay, I’d wear it way more than the bracelet.» ANDTHENSHEASKEDMEIFITWASSOMETHING I COULDAFFORD. …whoa… my feelings? NOT hurt. Ok, ok I’m lying. My best recommendation is to avoid this particular location. In Ala Moana, the Japanese associates are incredibly patient, helpful, and wonderful. I gave it 2 stars because the ring is super cute(and I still get compliments… so I’d give it 5) but, since I’m giving her a –7…it equates to 2.

What a great business idea. Use stainless steel, crystals, and other materials that cost less than $ 50 and charge more than $ 300 for the piece. Was walking around the other night with a friend who dragged me in here, lo and behond we were there for over 30 minutes. I was too sleepy to know better than letting her drag me in there. Some of the jewerly actually has a nice design and would make a nice gift. The seller was actually nice so they deserve a decent review. 365 Challenge: #93/365

When I was in Paris a year ago I had seen a necklace I loved at Folli Follie, but I didn’t buy it because with the conversion it seemed a little pricey for gold plated. Well, I had been kicking myself in the butt about that ever since. I had tried to find it on the Internet, but failed, and I couldn’t find anything like it at other stores. So, when I saw this store this year on vacation in Hawaii, I was super excited. Apparently, besides NY, the only US locations of Folli Follie are in Hawaii. Why one state needs three locations doesn’t make much sense to me, but I’m just happy that one happened to be on my path! Anyway, I ran in here one night between bars and I was in kind of a hurry because my friends were waiting outside. I explained what I’d seen in Paris to the saleswoman, and she immediately knew what I was talking about and was quick about showing me what they had in the style I wanted. I can’t really speak about the other merchandise as I didn’t do much browsing, but I walked out with my little orange bag totally satisfied.
