#28/265 Danggg whered my review for this place go o_O…I made the first 1 when it first came out :(oh wells… haha. Anyway, the FIRST time I tried it I visited them at takoako tuesday and I got 1 pork adobo and 1 pork guisantes taco. It was pretty good and I enjoyed it from what I can recall. It was topped with some cabbage and a mix of tomato, onions and I think jimica. For this past ETS(spicy), I just had to try their angry pinoy dog, ESP hearing that they will soon be going out of business :(. For $ 3 you get 2 mini redondos like hot dogs(a bit bigger than lil smokies) inside a sweet roll(taste like a spanish roll) that is topped with a alot of grilled tocino and then topped with a tiny dollop of a tomato«salsa.» It was delicious. I liked that the roll was grilled. The buttery-ness of the roll made the ends crunchy mmm. The grilled pork on top of the tiny dogs were more on the sweet side rather than spicy but still good. I also would have liked if they put more salsa or at least some cabbage or something to add contrast to the rich and savory meat. It was also a bit too oily for me. Overall, 4.5. I’d def want to get it again or at least try their original pinoy dog. Def the best and only filipino fusion truck out there!

Mmmm Angry Pinoy Dogs… Rewind an hour back to my husband sitting in traffic for an hour. His Rage Monster had sure come out. A lot of profanities and ugly glares at cars around us. After over an hour of traffic, we get to Eat the Streets. Of course we have to stop by Flipt Out Eats since they haven’t let us down yet. We get 2 of this month’s special: Angry Pinoy Dogs. These little weiners lack in size, but make up for it with enthusiasm and willing to experiment. They were topped with what we think was grilled pulled pork and a little salsa. This combined with the spice in the pork and the sweetness of the bun was heaven. Husband was immediately brought back to Happy Town. We decided that we should keep a Pinoy Dog in the center console of our car so when his Rage Monster attacks we can calm it in a moment’s notice.

I love this place. Not only because they make Filipino food(since I’m Filipino) but because they make well known Filipino food with a modern twist! Their ice candy dessert is a must have, their lumpia is a must have as well! Their fries will be addiciting and once you’ve tasted their food, your tastebuds will thank you. :) You can watch my review here as well:

I thought I wrote an update on Flipt Out Eats, but I guess I didn’t so I’m back-tracking to the time I tried their food again at Taco’ako Tuesday in June. Although there was a bit of a wait because there was a long line and Food Network was interviewing people, the food was consistently fresh and flavorful: Fili Cheese Steaks — 4 stars — At first, I never bothered to try it because one of my friends told me that he didn’t care for it when he tried it at the Eat the Street event, but after giving it a try, it wasn’t too greasy for me and I really liked the local/filipino flavor and ingredients that blended well together. For $ 6, the size and ingredients were comparable to the price. Pinoy Dogs — 4 stars — Tried this again. For $ 6, it’s consistently very tasty and unique. Service — 5 stars — the men are very friendly and have a warm and funny local attitude. In all, after trying their truck twice, I raise them to a 4 star because their food is consistently unique and tasty, as well as their service very friendly and funny.

Heard lots about this place so I had to try. I had the Pinoy dogs and adobo fries. Super ono stuff. Good sized portions, eat the fries hot. Really tasty, will go back when I find him again. One of the better lunch trucks around. Not your ordinary stuff.

Visited this food truck at First Friday in Chinatown. Waited probably 45 minutes for them to open. It was worth the wait. The pinoy dogs and adobo fries were heavenly. Super delicious.

3.5 don’t go when they are filming, was crazy slow, especially if you have a time limit for lunch and need to be back at work. after they were done filming though, the wait was pretty fast and the service is friendly. got the pinoy dogs and adobo fries… these were tasty dogs… the spanish rolls compliment the tocino, sisig, and gisantes, as it gives a little bit of sweetness. adobo fries were plenty and i love crinkle-cut fries, not sure if i could really taste the adobo flavor. i would most def go back… but on the other hand, i think i can make these pinoy dogs. next i’ll try the ice candy!

3.5 stars. I first tried this new Filipino fusion food truck at Eat the Street. I sampled the banana split lumpia which is filled with bananas, strawberries, hot fudge chocolate and marshmellow. I’m gonna try to make this myself — it was super gooey but very good. A must try for sure! But, $ 3 is kinda steep, especially when you can make them yourself! :) My second visit was when I had to run some errands at the Ross on Ward. They were parked along the curb next to a couple of other food trucks. I tried the Kuya Special which was a sandwich melt made with Golden Coin’s famous white bread, pork adobo, provolone cheese(I think), and grilled tomatoes and onions. It also came with a side order of their adobo-dusted french fries. All for $ 7. Pretty good deal. I enjoyed it enough to say that I’d order it again. I hope they decide to make this a regular item on their menu! With all the fusion taco trucks roaming about town, it’s nice to see this new truck take a different spin on some Filipino dishes. Looking forward to seeing what else they got in store!

Had them at Eat the Street. My favorite was the cheese steak sliders and the banana lumpia. Fun guys and the prices were good. Be sure to go on an empty stomach as this food fills up!
