They have a variety of senior care items. However it is very pricy. The same walker that cost $ 230 was $ 140 on Amazon. Just buy it online. The lady that helped us was very nice, though.

Do not buy from this place. I purchased a toilet support bar for my father. The salesperson assured me that it was a standard fit. I took it home and guess what… it didn’t fit. Not even close. And it’s not returnable. They don’t know their products and their policies are ridiculous.

Go elsewhere. Went to purchase compression stockings for a relative in a care home, but it was the wrong one, so went to return it. The box had never been opened, but could not return it, not even for credit. At $ 50 each, now stuck with a brand new pair of stockings. To top it off, the workers were not helpful, or friendly. Felt like I was bothering them, even though store was empty.

02/04/2015 This place was recommended by someone I met that is also in a wheelchair. Problems … needed two parts for my electric wheelchair … a front wheel, and a fuse holder. Both of which I could deal with replacing myself, if I had the parts. Anyhoots … I went to this store and I was completely shocked! I was treated horribly. As though I had some nerve bothering them. They went to every excuse they could grab to get rid of me. I didn’t buy the wheelchair from them … so these two women announced … «then you need to go to the place you bought it from!» Umm … I bought it in California, we’re in Hawaii! Then they said they had no idea where to find the parts I needed … so they could not help me. Basically … these two women looked at me like I was squished snail on the sidewalk! Don’t bother going here for help … unless you are looking to buy a new scooter/wheelchair … anything else will make you want to get out of there as quickly as possible, because they have no idea what they’re doing, and the repair guy only comes to the store on Saturday! You have to make an appointment to see him. Frankly, it is about time I looked thinking about buying a new wheelchair … guess where I won’t be buying it?!

On my first day of arrival, Dauterman’s was on a commercial but little did I know I would be going to their store. My travel scooter had problems with the new battery case my dealer gave me. It turns out that the case had a blown fuse so it did not charge the batteries the whole time I was on vacation. Jess did her best to help but she was not the stores tech support. When we determined the problem, with Jess’s help, she gave us a free fuse. I will now travel with a complete set of fuses, a few screwdrivers and the owner’s manual. Thanks Jess for saving our vacation…

Standard expectation for a medical place but they’re friendly sometimes. :-)

For those of you caring for aging parents, this place is a must for«senior-proofing» your home. We recently stopped by to get my dad a new set of wheels — an upgrade to the wheelchair we bought him a few years prior. Thanks, LeAnn, for your help!

My family and I started buying supplies at Dauterman Medical since my father’s laryngectomy due to throat cancer. The workers are always helpful and friendly, I’m quite surprised reading the earlier reviews that had given 1 – 2 stars and stating the service pretty much sucked. Every time we’ve gone to Dauterman, we have never had a bad experience nor have we had any negative thing to say about the service. If they didn’t have the supply we needed, they would check for us if they could order it and let us know by when it would come in.

I called once and went in twice into the Honolulu store, and interacted with two staff members. Neither seemed particularly customer-oriented. Their body language, sour expressions and tone of voice all conveyed a sense that the customers were annoyances. I especially didn’t like the tone they took with the kupuna in the store. What I saw in just the few minutes I was there on both visits was that the initial response to any question about where an item could be found was«it’s down that isle» or «they’re over there,» while pointing in the general direction of a bewildering assortment of products. When one man’s payment went through as a credit instead of debit as he had asked, the response was essentially a snarky, «Too bad, it went through already.» In the end, his frustration was quite evident as he raised his voice to demand she reverse the charge and do it again. Another man inquiring about whether insurance covered something was interrupted with an annoyed, «No, we don’t deal with insurance. You can’t buy that with insurance. No you can’t do that.» Geez, if that’s the answer, fine, but at least be polite! This man was dealing with a distressing new situation with a beloved family member, is it too much bother to be gentle?
