The food selection is great here and the taste is even better. they don’t just serve Chinese food but they even have fresh taro and Polynesian entrees as well as local favorites lite hamburger steak. I like their Chinese roast oyster sauce chicken, the crispy egg rolls, and their fresh papaya slices. Also great is the fried rice, beef broccoli, and big salad bar with green leafy lettuce and lot of fresh veggies, plus 20 more things to choose from, all for $ 10.95. Where can you go for something like this — all you can eat. lot of parking also right off Nimitz hwy just about 3 blocks from road to airport.

Terrible place, looks decent when you walk in no variety and what they do have is over sauced and salted. Will never return.

I think it’s been more than five years since my last visit to this place but it’s still basically still the same type of operations — «fast food» type local Chinese buffet line… for those who prefers quantity rather than quality of food, then this place is for you. But, if you’re looking for quality, then you would be disappointed. I decided to return to this place because my friend has never been here and is one of those who prefers quantity a la «all you can eat» variety — all I’ve got to say is that the low quality of the food got even lower from the last time I was here. The only reason I’m giving this place two stars rather than one is for the attentiveness of the wait staff in making sure our used dishes were taken away promptly and our water cups and tea was bottomless. Other than that, no much to write home about.

Decent food, though not the widest selection, but tasty. Fairly cheap, self service, of course. Wait staff was kind and promptly picked up my empty plates. A little spendy for a lunch buffet, but if you’re an eater, which it seems a large portion of the customers were, then it makes sense. All around decent. Nothing to write home about.

So all I have to say is. My little sister found a cockroach in her fried rice. So if you like the extra unexpected protein give this place a try. Barely up to code. I know this because I work in the culinary industry.

We came right when they opened and it was full of people. I have to say the secret to a good meal here is coming when they open. The food was delicious and it had a wide range of foods I didn’t see when I came here right before closing last time

Horrible Chinese Buffet! Do NOT eat here. It will give you diarrhea! 3 of us got sick. I barely ate the food and opted for salad. All of the food was old!

Well… The people seem nice and sweet and the band was actually pretty good. The food, I’m sad to say was not what I expected. The choices of platters they serve are not something I have seen in the mainland. It’s definitely different and I don’t think we will be visiting again. I don’t think there’s a need for me to be foul and rude on this review. But the management really needs to consider a change of menu buffet and a new cook. They might need Gordon Ramsey

I wish I could give it no stars. Snow crab was overcooked and the rest of the food looked and tasted like it had been sitting out all day and previously frozen.

First time here. We weren’t at all impressed by the food. All of it tastes like it had been frozen/left out/reheated. All of it. After two small plates I’d had more than enough. On a better note. The service was excellent, super friendly and efficient.

WORST. buffet… Ever. They need to call it Chans Gross Buffett. This is obviously for the Chinese tourists but they got us with putting american. Smh. They need to expand the menu to include a few more chinese/american dishes. Very disappointing service also. When the tour bus came in(literally an asian tour bus full) they totally forgot about us.

My bf has been dying to try this place. For what reason I don’t know but I finally agreed. The service is alright, our server spoke barely any English but that wasn’t really an issue. The food was alright I mean for 10 $ hey not too bad. The mashed potatoes and Kau yuk(sp) and bbq chicken was my fave. Other than that today it wasn’t tasting all that great. I think I grabbed what looked like a crab cream cheese roll. It was very dry and when I tried the meat it was sour. All in all you get what you pay for. Would I come again prob not. But if you want you should try it out for yourself maybe you’ll find something you really like.

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. This has to be the most disgusting place here on the island. Something as simple as rice seemed like it was left overnight and then reheated on the microwave, then reheated in a pan, then left outside, then served. I honestly do not know how this place is still standing. The cups of water seemed filthy as well. Last time we would ever try a place without checking Unilocal first!

Went there for lunch, at $ 10 for all you can eat I would say it deserves 3 stars, but I wouldn’t pay their dinner prices. There were a lot of options, some better than others(they had some sort of beef in gravy that resembled Salisbury steak that was pretty tasty, although you can recognize it’s cheap quality). Kind of run down, but at least the people who ran the place seemed nice to me and were good about refilling water/keeping items stocked on the buffet. Bottom line, if I’m very hungry and it’s the $ 10 lunch price, I’d go back.

This place is nasty! Don’t waste your time and money! Terrible service and dirty dirty dirty!!! Yuck!!! An old lady even grabbed the tongs I was using while trying to serve, then she dipped it in ice, pointed it at me and then threw it at me. Tried to complain and the manager literally laughed at me.

Lets get this straight, its a cheap buffet, so don’t expect crab and lobster to be included! If you want that, go to Waikiki and spend $ 30 -$ 40. The selection was decent, but no doubt you can get full off of the food. Come during lunch for the fried chicken, it was awesome. Calamari rings was ok. The ice cream is extra, but honestly its not that much, $.75, which is cheaper than McDonalds. The best time to come is lunch at 11 –2. Then again from 5– 8 for dinner. There are TV’s that you can sit and watch while eating. The atmosphere was friendly. Clean bathrooms. The place is clean. Tourist come to eat and you could tell a few regualrs come here too. I have gone to worse chinese resturaunts and spent a lot more money than what I would spend on my family eating here and still not be full. Most of the time at those places, they rush you out and make you feel like you’re wasting thier time. The whole«hurry up and buy» feeling. If you are looking for a place to eat for cheap with your family this is the place to be. The workers are nice and friendly. It doesnt break the bank to eat here.

At first I didn’t know how to rate this place knowing that my wife & have come here for years, in fact, the first time I ate here was when we were first dating LOL we use to come here often to eat, not because the«quality» was great but because of the«quantity» you get for the price which is pretty much in the category of «cheap eats» when it comes to Chinese buffets… now that I mentioned that, idk where there is another Chinese buffet on the island? Well, besides Ho Ho’s in Kapolei(which has less varieties but it sums up the same here, but less corny décor). There is a great amount of parking, so you won’t have a problem finding one, unless there’s a grad party happening, or it’s Sunday and you see all the Church folks wanting to grab a cheap bite to eat, but most times you will see tourists(mostly those who are visiting from HK or China or somewhere in Asia) who will swoop in for a good 10 – 15 min, eat and drink they’re hot tea, and hop back on the bus for another Hawaii tour adventure. Yes, this place is for those who care about the«quantity» more then the«quality» like I said before, so the food is no where near«AH-MAZING» its pretty mediocre. You will find alot of Polynesian folks(Samoan, Tongan) & ofcourse Micronesians, I will not lie, a lot of these families just want food, they don’t care if its burnt or too chewy or bland, to them its a simple buffet for a cheaper price then Makino Chaya’s or any other buffet out there. The service here is always good, the workers are attentive & fill your water constantly, the food however is so-so, not my favorite amount of choices, but I do like they’re Asian salad & dressing that goes with it, plus they’re crab sushi is pretty good as well. I am pretty picky so there is not a lot of options for me to choose from, since a lot of they’re food just don’t look appeasing to me, but thats just me. BUT, if your looking for somewhere cheap to eat and not really picky on food choices, Chan’s Buffet is the place to go! Its no where near«Gourmet» like it says on they’re sign, but if you hungry enough, that would not matter one bit lol Happy Chan’s eating Unilocalers!

So– it needs to have a 1 star so that no one will ever think that going here will be a great dining experience. It should be named Budget or Low End Buffet –not by any means Gourmet. Usually the meat is overcooked in general because it sits under hot hot heat lamps. Many of the items have little to no meat like the beef broccoli, spaghetti, fried rice, or other noodle dishes. The meat that is meat items like the char sui, corned beef or pork have tons of fat on the meat. Here is what I do like: There is shrimp and mussels Shell on and slightly over heated. For the price — if this is the only thing that you are going to eat– You have just struck it rich. All you can eat– not tasty all you can eat but overfeeding yourself you will accomplish the task. Fried spring rolls, fried gau gee and fried fish. Anything fired in enough pork oil is going to taste great. Not trying to sound negative — but you will see many large families eating here– There is an obesity problem in America and it seems that Chan’s is not doing anything to stem this problem.(I am not saying I couldn’t loose 25 pounds and not be healthy but when patrons could loose 300 lbs and still be heavy — you know there is an obesity problem.) Many people have graduations there. It may be über crowded and then there may be waiting for something that you may want to eat. I have seen the same staff there for over 10 years(Yes– I have a history of going here — many times it is graduations.) They do try their best to make people feel welcome and have water and soda and otherwise just let them off and running in the buffet line. It is near the airport so so many people are fooled into thinking it is great. It does do take out so that is another option– but usually everyone goes for the cheap buffet.

Worse… Chinese… Buffet. EVER… This is the first place that I ate at when I arrived in Hawaii. I haven’t eaten all day and it was around 3:00pm so I was ready to pig out. I am a big fan of buffets but this place is a let down. Even the girl working at the front desk looked miserable. She didn’t even crack a smile when speaking to customers. It looked like she didn’t care about her job. This place doesn’t seem very clean. I can’t imagine what goes on behind the kitchen. Also, what kind of freaking buffet charges you extra for ice cream??? That is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen. The price here isn’t cheap, it’s pretty damn expensive for the quality of the place. They also serve pigs feet, which I’m sure many people are afraid to try. I like it though, but they didn’t do a very good job of cleaning all the hair off from it. They should really change their name because the food here is definitely not gourmet material. Also, I got up to get some more food and when I came back my table was being cleaned along with my water. The guy mopping the floor brought me another drink. It was pretty disgusting to touch a cup of water when your hands are dirty from mopping. I would never come back to this place again.
