Everyone told me to try the egg puffs here… so I made the trek. This place is located in Mauna Kea Marketplace outside. They have smoothies and boba drinks too. The smoothies were ok but I really liked the egg puffs. They were light and not too sweet. I tried this place a few months ago and went today since I was in Chinatown. I was sad to see that they had closed down. A new similar place Mickey Café had replaced it.

Loved it! I ordered the sugarcane with jasmine tea juice, it was so refreshing! I will definitely go back to try the other sugarcane combinations!

I consider this as my secret little tea place since its not popular like Taste Tea or Coffee or Tea, and its location could be inconvenient to find or even spot! This is one of my favorite tea place because of its quality, egg puffs, and price. For the largest size here, they sell it for a dollar cheaper than other tea places, drinks always satisfying and my oh my, their egg puffs can bring my mind back to Hong Kong instantly! Take a really good look at their menu and you can easily spot the difference and uniqueness of this place. Sugarcane drinks, different type of tea such as citrons green tea totally wins my heart. I must remind my fellow durian lovers they have durian slush made out of real durian!!! Their fruit slushes and smoothies are all made out of real fruits too, that one totally caught my boyfriend’s attention as they put chunks of honeydew melon in his drink. Since this is just a little place, they only take cash. Try to repeat your order twice if cashier looks confuse, or even give them the location number on the menu to him/her. Must try egg puffs! Please do eat the egg puffs while they’re still burning hot, it’ll totally make your day!

For value, flavor, and selection, it’s a great bubble tea stand. I’ve had a few things on their menu, including the egg puffs, winter melon tea, coconut milk tea, and matcha green tea with milk foam(my most recent order and addiction). I will forever love this place for their matcha green tea with milk foam. Looks pretty, tastes even better. There’s a creaminess to it with a good depth of matcha flavor that had me addicted from first sip. Cash only — I believe there’s an ATM nearby if needed. There’s a wide selection of drinks, from different flavored milk teas, regular iced teas, fresh fruit smoothies, slushes, and maybe more that I’m unable to recall. There’s something for everyone! 10/10, would recommend!

There’s literally a boba shop every street in Chinatown, which makes my boba cravings so much harder. Figured we gave this a try because we didn’t want to wait at Thangs, which is only a couple of steps away. We ordered their pineapple smoothie, strawberry slush, milk tea, and of course all with boba! Everything was really good, especially under $ 3. Just wished their strawberry slush wasn’t as sweet and boba wasn’t as chewy. But the cups are huge!!! Like we couldn’t finish our drinks in one sitting. Maybe because it was pink boba??? It still beats Thangs! Next time, egg puffs for sure.

I had no idea what chocolate egg puffs were until Emi brought me here to grab a snack. They looked a little weird but it had the word chocolate in it so I figured it had to be good. Oh, and Emi recommended it so another bonus point. I was in Oahu! It was time to try some new food, right? Right. She placed the order, I saved our seats. The little market place was really busy. Lots of people and shops. Definitely a great place to hang, eat and people watch. Most of the tables have an umbrella for some shade from the sun. She brought the food back and we tore into it. I never knew that chocolate egg puffs would be my new favorite snack. They are like light chocolate waffle flavored pieces of goodness. They were warm and they have a crunchy outside but a nice soft doughy inside. Like a donut/waffle/pastry combo. I ate the whole bag – And I’m not even ashamed. Every. Last. Piece. And then washed it down with the delicious smoothie-which tasted really fresh on a hot summer day. When I bring my husband back over, we are gonna stop here to satisfy our sweet tooth. I’m already wishing I had some here for breakfast now! Mmmm. Chocolate. :)

I ordered green tea slush and strawberry slush, both with tapioca. I see them make a green tea slush then put it aside for a few minutes. I thought it belonged to somebody else. I waited a several minutes staring at the green tea and it looked so good the longer I waited in the scorching heat. When I asked about my green tea, the old lady behind the cash register gave me the green tea that has been sitting aside for several minutes. There was a long line and I was really hot, so I just took it and left. Most of the green tea slush had melted by the time I started drinking it. The flavor was somewhat bland and they did not add my tapioca. My strawberry slush turned out good, but I expected them to make it with real fruits. They made it with powder. I ordered this from their«special» menu. It makes customers think that it’s on sale, but it’s really not. The«special» menu is their powdered menu. It fools people because the«special» menu does not say«powdered». DON’T be fooled if you read this review. I hate this kind of deceptive advertisement. I should have expected this kind of sales tactic from street vendors. Shame on me for not asking when I ordered.

My go-to place for drinks in Chinatown. Though I think I’ve only ever had the honeydew shush. It’s cheap and fresh. Considering the size I feel like I always get more than what I pay for and does its work of cooling me down after walking around in the sun.

This review is for the egg puffs only. I love the plain flavor but you can also get it with chocolate. It is freshly made when you order.

I always buy their $ 2.50 black sesame smoothie since im a very cheap person haha. Taste really good! But honestly they need to change the cashier to a person who understands english because the old lady got my order wrong and over charged me in the past :(

I think this is the best bubble tea place in Oahu! They always use fresh fruits and their iced teas are delicious too. Sometimes they mix black tapioca with pink tapioca which I think is strawberry flavored and I don’t know why… but if you don’t want a mixture, maybe clarify when ordering. I usually get the mango or honeydew. Their honeydew bubble tastes like icecream!

This review is strictly for their egg puffs that are $ 4. They have a chocolate egg puff that I haven’t tried yet for $ 4.50. So if you’re in Chinatown looking for a snack that will hold you til your next meal. Not too heavy. A little sweet. Crisp on the outside and soft custard flavored goodness on the inside that isn’t doughy. This is where you go. I’ve had egg puffs from many places. I love the one I can get from Café de Tim best. They are made fresh so you do have to wait a bit for them. But it’s well worth the wait. As they are about ready you can smell them as they cook in that egg puff making thing that reminds me of a waffle maker. They are best when they are hot. This place sells drinks too, but I prefer the real fruit smoothies from the next stall to the left, Thanhs. They have awesome smoothies. Great for quenching your thirst on a hot day. So. How do you find this place? It is in the open air courtyard area inside of the Maunakea Marketplace on Hotel Street. Walk in through one of the entryways that is lined with stalls selling knick knacks. The stall is in the center portion, outside the food court end of the marketplace. Tims is on the right side of the doorway to enter the food court.

If you’re in Chinatown, you must try ONE thing from Café de Tim, and that’s their egg puffs aka egg waffles, eggettes, or for my fellow Cantonese-speaking friends, gai daan jai(鷄蛋仔). It’s a waffle popular in Hong Kong that’s made out of an egg batter cooked in a spherical waffle press. You have to eat this fresh when the egg puffs are warm and crispy! Just a warning: the«eggs» are hollow! Many of my local friends expected a cakey center, but they loved it either way. Café de Tim’s egg puffs are made to order. I took off a star because the wait for the egg puffs can be from 15 to 20 minutes. They have two waffle presses, but only cook them one at a time… The only reason why I keep coming back is because the egg puffs do not disappoint. Just don’t come here on an empty stomach. They make for an amazing after-dim sum dessert. Café de Tim also has an extensive drink menu. I don’t particularly care for most of the drinks(shelves of powder flavoring, ick). They do come out fast, but if you’re ordering with the egg puffs, you’ll probably be halfway finished with the drink before the waffles are done.

AHHH! This was PERFECT on a hot day. My recommendations: 1. SUGARCANEDRINK: fresh, refreshing, sweet. Perfect! 2. Eggettes or egg puffs(雞蛋仔): this is a delicious street snack from my hometown of Hong Kong. Crispy and custardy.

Nice stop on a hot day. Like really, really hot. So hot you’re melting. Anyway, came here on 12⁄19 around 1:30 and already people were waiting for their drinks. I looked at the pretty extensive menu and decided on the pomelo black tea and chocolate egg puffs. I actually came here for the egg puffs but since my face was melting, I decided to get a draaaank too. $ 3.50 for the pomelo black tea and $ 3.50 for the chocolate egg puffs. Cheap eats! The pomelo black tea was refreshing with bits of fruit in the drink. Pretty sweet, but it had a little bitterness from the pomelo. Definitely quenched my thirst! As for the egg puffs, they were super fresh! Made to order right in front of you! Not super chocolatey, but sweet nonetheless. Super tasty! Great spot if you’re perusing in China town. 5 stars!

It’s always a pain to find parking in Chinatown but it’s worth it. Café de Tim is inside of Maunakea Marketplace, it’s a little shop with one person taking the order and one making it. They can get pretty busy but nothing crazy. I’ve waited 5 – 10 minutes at most. The Egg Puff’s here are so so yummy! One of the best I’ve tried. Honest. They make it to order so it’s nice and hot and really crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. I’ve only tried the ice blended coffee with coffee jelly and the sugar cane drink. Both weren’t bad, but nothing I’d go crazy for. Or. Well, I should probably try more drinks to get a better idea of their drinks. EGGPUFFS = WINNERS. Tasty tasty egg puffs, service is pretty good, they have a good selection of drinks. If you’re in town(chinatown), stop by for some egg puffs! That is all :)

Unilocal365CHALLENGE2014−(243÷365) «My First Egg Puff Experience» We have a lot of boba shops in Vegas. One thing we don’t have is a lot of boba shops who sell Egg Puffs. We have NONE! :( After getting our Chun Wah Kam fix, I see in the distance, Wing Shave Ice shop and remembered that it was a favorite stop for a bunch of Honolulu Yeeps. We get there, take a peek into a dark room, and a guy who I assume is Mr.(Chicken) Wing yells over with a stern look«We Not Open Yet!!!» At that moment, happiness turned to anger, and I felt like Bruce Banner right when his eyes turn green before turning into the Hulk. I was ANGRY, thanks to Mr. Chicken Wing!!! First of all, we did nothing, second of all according to your Unilocal business page, you are supposed to be open, third of all, it is not our fault that you woke up with your panties in a bunch and couldn’t get your act together and open on time. Wifey told me to make like Frozen and«Let it go… Let it go…» so we walked it off at Maunakea Marketplace. We pass by Café de Tim and I see a picture of EGGPUFFS! I’ve never had them before, and people in line were saying they were the best in town, so I followed their lead and got me an Egg Puff and a Taro-Azuki Boba Smoothie as well. Similar to cooking a waffle, these soft, supple things of love are delicately crisp on the outside with a chewy mochi-like consistency in the center(maybe made with mochiko flour?) These were so tasty and addicting! The smoothie on the other hand was good, and helped cool me off but not great. So glad I got to try my first Egg Puff, but the bad thing is Vegas doesn’t have any egg puff places when a craving hits! ALOHA!!! Shaka Meter: \uuu/\uuu/\uuu/\uuu/4

Hankering for an after meal dessert? Try egg puffs while hanging out in Chinatown! Light, delicious and satisfies your sweet tooth. After eating a flavorful Thai luncheon at Malee in the Maunakea Marketplace with my fiancé Daniel L., we came across an outside vendor with photos of cold boba tea drinks and their infamous egg puffs. What is an egg puff? It’s a popular Hong Kong dessert with a crisp edge and cakey filling inside. These individual shells are made to order and are piping hot once they are ready. I was thoroughly impressed when I took my first chewy bite and couldn’t wait to eat more of these delicate morsels. One order = 30. Good enough to share for two people. I noticed they served cold boba teas and smoothies. Maybe one of these days I’ll try the taro/azuki boba drink? UYE anyone? Cash only and yes parking is a pain because it’s in Chinatown. Those egg puffs — I just can’t get enuff!

Total sensory overload. And no, I’m not talking about just venturing into Chinatown – because the crowds, the parking, and all the sights are another story completely! No, I’m talking just about the menu board at Café de Tim. Okaaay, this isn’t the best place to take an indecisive person. There’s a drink for everyone here — teas, milk teas, coffee, fruit smoothies, sugarcane drinks, with boba or without? There’s a little something for everyone here! Even a durian smoothie, for those adventerous souls… Personally, I could eat my weight in watermelon, so naturally this is the drink that I always gravitate to. This is like heaven in a cup for me! I don’t prefer drinks that are overly sweet, so I love how naturally sweet this is. The texture is reminiscent of a real watermelon, blended with just a little bit of ice to water it down and add coolness. Soo refreshing on a hot day, I slurp this thing down like no one’s business! Prices for drinks are pretty standard, ranging from $ 3 – 4. Worth it to me, especially since fruit drinks are made with fresh, real fruit. For proof, just peep the window for the day’s selection! No powdered stuff here! In addition to the delectable drinks, the egg puffs here are a must order! A bag will run you $ 3.50, but for this sweet, warm, crispy goodness-I say«take my money!» If you’re unfamiliar, egg puffs are like waffles, but even better! Made in a special type of waffle iron, these are miniature egg shaped puffs that are hollow on the inside(yeees, don’t be like my boyfriend who assumed they were filled with eggs… doh!) and perfectly crispy on the outside. These are divine when eaten right out of the waffle iron, especially with steam billowing out as you take that first bite! The only downside to Café de Tim is the wait. It can get a little hectic at times, depending on how busy they are. The wait for egg puffs typically surpasses the wait for a drink! It’s all worth it though, much like other great pairs like popcorn and a movie, or french fries and ketchup, egg puffs and an icy drink from Café de Tim are a match made in heaven!

After reading about their egg puffs, I had to try it for myself. The man who took my order started my egg puffs on the grill but got really busy so it came out really dark so he made another set for me and ask me to wait another 5 more minutes. I thought that was nice of him. So I ended up ordering a sugar cane juice chrysanthemum drink. They use real sugar cane sticks and juice them out of their machines. I’m not used to sugar cane juice so it had a bark/tree taste but the drink was real refreshing and clean. By then, my egg puffs were ready and I had to try it there and then. It was very light and crunchy egg tasting. I would definitely come back if I’m venturing Chinatown again. I held one star because of convenience. I drive so I need some parking stalls for convenience. As for service, let’s just say it was descent and staff were nice.

Egg puffs. If that word is unfamiliar to you, you need to get yourself acquainted with this deliciously fun and light Hong Kong snack ASAP! There’s no better place on the island to do that than Café de Tim. In fact, egg puffs are so scarcely made, it’s probably one of the very few places you can find them. Egg puffs look like bubble wrap but taste like waffles. They’re crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a texture that reminded me of cornbread. Compared to egg puffs I’ve had in the Bay Area, these were quite buttery. That definitely helps the flavor, but they’ll leave your fingers a little oily. In addition to their egg puffs, I got the classic milk tea. It was overly sweet, thick, and powdery. Discerning milk tea drinkers won’t enjoy this place, but sugar addicts will! The boba here is cooked to a nice chewiness and added in generous amounts to your drink. That was probably the most boba I’ve ever seen in a drink both in and out-of-state so far. Funnily enough, the milk tea I disliked so much ended up being the one that got my mom hooked on boba drinks. Since I didn’t want to finish it, I left it in the fridge at home where my mom picked it up to try. She’s been addicted ever since, but now I need to show her what good milk tea actually is! I’ll be satisfying my milk tea fix elsewhere, but Café de Tim is the spot to get the elusive egg puff snack!
