Great place if you love Forrest Gump. The food was very good, but also very expensive. It is definitely worth trying if you are in the area but it isn’t a must go to restaurant in Waikiki. Also if you order certain alcoholic drinks you get to keep your glass(if not there is a gift shop inside the restaurant that sells all of the same glasses and other knick knacks.).

Great place for entertainment and always great service. Food is pretty decent for the price as it is a bit expensive. Suggest the peel and eat shrimp as an appetizer.

The food here is super good! I like how they made a restaurant that is related to Forrest Gump the movie. It’s pretty cool to have a restaurant name after you. Having a Bubba Gump is awesome cuz there is not much location in Honolulu. It is quite busy today for lunch but the wait was 5−10mins so we didn’t wait to long for a table. We got in pretty fast and we got our food in time. The food was huge portion who knew it was gonna be this big:0 my friends got fries, garlic bread, shrimp scampi pasta, calamari, and I ordered a baby back ribs. I gotta say those are the best flavorful ribs I ever had in years! The service was amazing and our server was nice to come check up with us every 10mins:) highly recommend this place if your here to visit Hawaii

My mom and I went on a Saturday and we only had to wait 10 minutes for a table. When we sat down the waitress was prompt to greet us and ask if we wanted anything to drink. We asked if we could have water to start. When she brought us our water, I noticed that my cup had dried lettuce on the bottom outside rim and what looked like a green onion floating at the bottom, inside my cup– yuck. I asked her if I could have another cup and pointed to the food in my water. She apologized and was quick to return with what I thought was a new cup, but she(or whoever was in charge of it) just dumped out the water and gave me the same cup. I wouldn’t have noticed that it was the same cup but it had the same piece of dried lettuce as my previous cup. Maybe it was a coincidence? However, still a bit gross. We decided to try the sweet & spicy fried shrimp, which is from their summer menu. Honestly, it was pretty good – just imagine honey walnut shrimp, minus the walnut and add sweet chili sauce. I decided to get the 20 oz Kona Longboard, since they have it on tap. Beer was good – perfectly chilled for the hot summer day. My mom got a classic margarita on ice, which she said they made perfectly. High five to the bartender! I wish I could give them more than three stars, because the food is consistent, beer and liquor is awesome, and our server was very nice, but the green onion particle in my water grossed me out.

Setting was nice and quiet. I think it’s because it was early. Shrimp needed a little salt but was cooked perfectly. Soft drinks are wayyyy too sweet but water tastes fine. Not bad. Had fun. Margaritas got lots of alcohol.

My daughter and I had just watched Forest Gump on Netflix again, so we were inspired to go here when I took her clothes shopping one day. She ordered a chicken dish with mashed potatoes. She said the chicken was good, but she described the mashed potatoes as «meh.» I had a shrimp dish. It was just okay. By the end of our meal, we both felt very bloated and almost queasy. On the bright side, I was inspired to run(«Run, Forest, Run!») around Diamond Head the next morning, just to get a start on working off the excess weight! The soundtrack playing was very irritating, and the smell from the restroom was not nice. This is my second try, and I do not think I’m going to try for«Three time’s a charm!»

As always, fantastic food and service. And still love being an LSC member as there’s never a wait. I still love jumping in front of all the waiting tourists to get the next available table! Seafood trio and shrimp mac and cheese are our go-to foods here.

Buba slump shrimp. Came her due to the movie and thought it would be pretty cool! It had a chilled out movie paraphernalia theme which made for a cool experience. The service was really good and friendly, quick to come to your table if you need anything and always polite. The negative was the cleanliness, there was pizza crust and other food scraps on the floor of the restaurant under tables and chairs, the table wasnt the cleanest either. The food quality and taste i would have to say was very average, i probably wouldnt go back but the merchandise from the movie and restaurant are pretty cool plus u can get some really unique drinks such as the caronarita(margarita with a corona on top) So if your passing by and want to experience it then sure why not! I wouldnt travel to far though

FIRSTOFALL, I waited 30 minutes for my food to come while everyone else was eating. The waitress kept assuring me that my food would be out in a moment, but it turned out she forgot to place my order. I would have rather her tell me she forgot than have me thinking my food would actually be ready in any moment. I understand that it’s been a long day of work, and I honestly felt bad for being so angry about it, but it’s better to explain your mistake than lie to the customer to calm their nerves. Secondly, their bathrooms weren’t even maintained. Also, the next day, I heard the place had rats. And finally, when we had our name called, the people working the front also seemed like they didn’t know what they were doing and just talking amongst themselves when they were supposed to get my family and me a table. Why do I need to stand there and watch you all scramble for 2 minutes after you’ve called my name to tell me you’re READY to have us seated? Also, while I was waiting where the restaurant meets the gift shop, water poured on me from the ceiling. Like really? Fix that. The only good thing that came out of my whole experience that night was how nice the manager was to offer us a free desert while waiting for me to finish my dinner, which he also let me have for free. He was also the only person in that place that greeted us. Overall, this place has really bad service.

«Life is like a box of _________» Pick one: A. Tourists B. Movie Quotes C. French Fries D. Shrimp E. Fish F. Chips Yet, if you’ve seen the movie… You wonder do they actually sell chocolates in here? I mean c’mon now«Mama always said life was like a box of… You never know what you’re gonna get.» Well in this case you’ll know exactly what you’ll get at… Bubba Gump Shrimp Company! If you want shrimp you’ll definitely find it here! I mean c’mon now… «Anyway, like I was sayin’, shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, sauté it. There’s shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There’s pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That, that’s about it.» Um well, that’s what Bubba told me! Bubba Gump Shrimp Company it is! So, I came here with a couple of co-workers. And no, Forrest, I didn’t have to run! Okay, I admit I’ve been here before, but not the most memorable encounters. And why before even taking a foot inside we already knew what to expect: tourists, overpriced drinks, gaudy décor, and annoyingly cheery employees! Oh well, we’re good ‘ol boys ‘n ‘ol girls, so let’s roll… A. Captains Fish & Chips: Traditionally Beer Battered $ 14.49. Not bad, but not memorable either. My friend found it just okay and with that price tag we expected more. B. Mama’s Southern Fried Chicken: Boneless Breast of Chicken, Fresh Corn, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy $ 16.99. I had this dish and although it looked and sounded amazing, the actual entrée was once again just okay. On the drier side and something I would not recommend. C. Old Fashioned New England Clam Chowder & Caesar Salad Combo: Filled with Clams & Potatoes. Fresh Greens with Dressing $ 10.99. This combo was probably the best of the lot. My friend enjoyed it and it seemed quite filling. D. Bubba’s Blue Hawaiian: I also decided on one of those«candy» cocktails since the waitress enthusiastically insisted I would love it! So I went with the flow and got one. $ 9.29 ouch. It was seriously like drinking a sugar drink, not in a good way, but hey, it did come in a cute flashing mug! Unbeknownst to me that once my lips touched the plastic… I was buying that ridiculous mug too. Meh. So we came. We ate. We drank. We blended in with the tourists. We didn’t eat shrimp! «Stupid is as stupid does.» But yes, I’d come again. Just know what to expect and I emphasize it’s not exactly on my upper-tier list. Still it’s a pretty fun place with a Hollywood themed thingie going on. You’ll survive it, like Jenny did. And no, I never found out if they sold chocolates, but they sure had comfy tank tops and a ton of shrimp hats! «Me and Jenny goes together like peas and carrots.» — Forrest Gump «Life is like a box of _________» Answer: Chocolates DOABLE. 3.0-STARS!

This isn’t my type of food but the BF wanted to come here since he’s never eaten here. I think the food is rather pricey but the taste is okay. My only gripe is that everything is drenched in butter or cream sauce, which I think ruins the taste of the seafood. We had the popcorn shrimp and shrimp Mac & cheese appetizers. The Mac and cheese was probably my favorite(but also drenched in butter) and the top layer had some kind of panko crust on the top — so delicious. My pear berry salad was generously topped with raspberries and strawberries and was a lot larger than I had expected. My BF ordered the dessert trio, too, which came with a cookie dessert(the best one, I think), a strawberry cake, and bread pudding. I love bread budding but I think BG dropped the ball a bit with the bread pudding because it was on the harder side(I think my BF makes better bread pudding, to be honest). They were fairly busy the day we went but our service was very quick and good.

I really like their shrimp New Orleans so I’ve come here often. But the service is slow sometimes. There are employee everywhere but it took 20min to get our sever and after the food came we wanted some condiments but it was really hard to find her.

This place is soooo different from 2 – 3 years ago!!! Not sure why. New chefs maybe? Idk. Came on a Saturday night so I did expect it to be busy of course being Saturday night at ala moana. Walked up to the host stand, where there were 2 girls, I looked at the girl on the right(cuz she was looking up while the girl on the left was busy looking down writing something) and wasn’t greeted. I just asked, «for two?» And the girl on the right smiled and pointed to the girl on the left(signaling for me to tell the girl on the left) but obviously she was busy… then the girl on the left looked up and gladly helped me — «oh! Yes! For two, can I get a name? — okay, it’ll be about 30 minutes just hang around and we will call your name when it’s ready» then the phone started ringing, and she asked the girl on the right to take the phone call — cuz she was busy taking my info down, lol. Idk why the other girl was even there at the host stand if she wasn’t even helping. Maybe she was training? No Idea. My bf & I decided to walk to zumiez first since I had to buy something there, we took about 15 minutes in and out and walked back to have a seat out in front of bubbas. about 25 – 30 minutes passed(now about 35⁄40 minutes since we put our name down) and we weren’t called yet so my bf went up to check on the timing and we were told there were 2 more parties ahead of us. There were a lot of tables open though(from what I could see outside) but it was fine. We were close to leaving to go else where, but then 1 out of the two parties that was ahead of us weren’t present, so we were seated right after that. The other host stand(inside) was way more friendly, seated us at our table. I totally forgot to get our waiters name but he was super cool & friendly, great service! Our food, how ever, took quite some time to come out… about maybe 20 – 30’minutes? I got the crab stuffed shrimp & my bf got the mixed shrimp with fries thing(sorry I forget the name) the price for both ranging around $ 19-$ 23 each before tax). If you’re looking for deveined shrimp, this is not the place to look for it. Not all our shrimps were deveined. AND from what I could remember, the«crab stuffed shrimp» used to be my FAVORITE dish!!! Because before the pieces were quite large and just super good, but it looked like the shrimps definitely shrank? In size… but last AND least, the shrimp was way way WAAAYYYY over cooked. But I’m pregnant and starving so who cares I ate it lol. I was always looking forward to coming back here but not anymore. Shrimp cravings will have to settle for the new hot spots like raging crab or something. This place doesn’t do it anymore, which is sad because it use to be super good!

Stopped by wanting to see how things may have changed. Unfortunately, they haven’t left a good impression. I felt like I was ignored by all the wait staff after getting seated and I almost walked out. When I was being seated I had to ask for a seat out of the sun despite their being ample seating where the sun wasn’t beating down. Instead of being moved to a table for two or four people, I was placed at a six person table. There were other tables available. Just really inconsiderate. About ten minutes later, a waiter came and assisted me. I ordered the fried chicken since I couldn’t recall eating it in the past. The chicken was nice and crispy and had light seasoning, the mashed potatoes and gravy were good, but the corn was lukewarm at most. I asked for a hot corn and I got another lukewarm one. The waiter pretended it was hot yet the room temperature butter didn’t even melt right away. I had to force it into the crevices. Lol. This one was cooked more and was not like little pebbles hitting my teeth as I bit in. I didn’t order dessert. I should’ve gone to Islands instead. They have good burgers and are pretty consistent.

This place never fails my family. Let me tell you why. First, make sure you are part of the Landry’s Select Club. It will give you priority seating(even during the most busy times of the week)! For example, we went there on a Friday night and the wait was over one hour. When I presented my Landry’s Select Club card, we were seated within 5 minutes. No wait, no line! We really enjoy the kids meals(for our 9-year old daughter). They have a very nice selection and she is always full at the end of the meal. For us adults, we like the Dumb Luck Coconut Shrimp and the Jambalaya. Both entrees are the favorites and we could easily order them again & again. Yes, this is a commercial establishment, but the food was well done. Even better, our service staff has been amazing every time we have been here. The waiters/waitresses have been so friendly and very attentive. They keep our drinks full, make sure we have everything we need, and even ask us Forrest Gump trivia! Yes, we got stumped. It made us want to go watch the movie again. Here is a forewarning. The manager knows the movie front to back. See if you can stump him! I certainly could not! The views from this restaurant overlook Ala Moana Park. The scenery is beautiful and serene. You can experience a nice sunset if you eat on the lanai. If you are there late enough, you can even listen to the live music that plays at Mai Tai’s across the way. If you are out of towners, or locals, this place is a treat. Perhaps it’s because we are Landry’s Select Club members. Either way, try it out!

We got there at 12:30, waited about 15 minutes to get our orders taken, and then waited another 40 minutes to get our food. It wasn’t busy inside so I’m not sure why they took forever –_– I ordered the Net Shrimp appetizer with a side of rice. It was pretty filling with a tasty Cajun sauce. Nothing special. The place is really gimmicky with lots of Forrest Gump memorabilia. I would rather go to crab bucket for a crustacean fix.

I’ve always wanted to eat at bubba Gump shrimp just cus it was on Forrest Gump. It is very commercialized but the food isn’t too bad. It’s not something I would go again. The server we had was nice but took a while on everything. Our food came out late and it wasn’t even a busy day so I would advise not to go there on a busy night. Food is okay but service is slow. I wouldn’t go back.

The bartenders are pretty cool and funny here. Sung, Courtney, and Chassis. Service was great today. We had Shrimp Mac and Cheese, 1 ½ Shrimpers Net Catch, and Mama’s Bread Pudding. Amount of food, preparation, value, and taste was overall great. Love these folks here. Courtney(from North K) was awesome…(She may need to watch Forrest Gump again though) jk.

Let’s start with the service. The bartender was excellent and I really liked the Mai Tai and their professionalism. When I came to the bar, there was an off-putting smell, but I think it was one of their patrons. Either way, they moved me to the other end of the bar, which was very nice of them — and effective, no smell there. I had the shrimp mac and cheese as my meal and was rather disappointed at the lack of shrimp. There were about 760ct shrimp in the whole dish, so about 0.1# of shrimp. Their drink specials were pretty good. As I was in Hawaii, I got a Mai Tai and enjoyed it. Be careful with those if you have to drive home. Another good thing is that they’re open late; I was there late.

Bubba Gumps located in the Ho’okipa Terrace of Ala Moana Center. It is on the fourth floor across of Mai Tai Bar and CPK. The restaurant is normally busy with tourists and local residents alike. There’s a gift shop on the left side of the entrance. The restaurant has a full bar and counter seatings for single individuals. There are a bunch of tables for parties of two, four, or six. Tables can be moved to provide space of a party for 8 to 10 people. I was with J2 on my most recent visit. After being led to our table by the hostess we were handed menus to look over. Our waiter came and provided couple glasses of water. Plus he took our drink order. I had ordered a clam(seafood) chowder bowl and the shelled fish dish. The chowder was delicious. My shellfish dish was a bit disappointed. First they forgot my garlic bread… I had to tell the waiter about it. The busboy got the garlic bread but was about to give it to another person until the waiter informed him that the bread belonged to me. Second they ran out of crab legs but gave me an extra lobster pincher. Third that extra lobster pincher tasted bitter as hell. There were shrimps, clams and mussels as part of the dish… they were good. J2 and I shared a dessert plate. Two out of the three desserts I finished it off. Got full after that. Our waiter was very friendly and in good spirit. He even checked up on us periodically to make sure everything was alright. I forgot his name… darn it. He informed us that we can show our receipt to the associate in the gift shop to claim our souvenir glass.
