I recently moved here from Brentwood, CA. I had a hysterectomy about 1−½ years ago and have been doing the hormone pellets ever since. They work fantastic!!! I moved to Oahu knowing that that was a doctor on the island that could also do the hormone pellets — I assumed he was like my doctor a specialist in the field OBGYN not an Eye doctor. Anyway, when I called to get an appointment a had to call 3 different times because nobody in the office knew how to schedule and appointment. Then I was told to call BodyLogics(in Florida to make an appt) when a called them they told me I had to take a blood test that would cost $ 495 — I understand I have to take a blood test but it should not cost that much and it should be billed through my insurance. Then they said I needed to meet and talk to Dr. Meahara which would cost $ 395 — idk why I need to pay $ 395 to talk about something I have already been doing for a year. Then I have to pay $ 300 to have the pellets be inserted and I have to pay for the actual pellets and btw go get them at the pharmacy myself. WHAT A JOKE. I see the the best doctor in this field in Los Angeles actually the doctor that TRAINED Dr. Maehara in the pellet procedure and his cost is ½ this and not a headache to deal with. It is sad for Hawaii because the pellets do work but Dr. Meahara and his staff and BodyLogics are taking advantage of people and charging way more than is fair not to mention it’s impossible to make an appointment. I am flying back to LA to see my dr for the implants instead. Don’t go to Dr. Meahara go to Dr, Ghozland in Santa Monica an OB/GYN that actually cares about people not some Eye doctor just trying to get your money. What a horrible experience — feels like a scam.

It’s all about the money… Dr. Maehara is an opthomologist who does the«body logic» work on the side. When I started going to see him(a year ago), he was scheduling the Body Logic twice a month(every other Monday). If you have a scheduling conflict you’re out of luck. One time I had to wait 3 weeks to see him when I was having an issue with a medication! The required tests are more frequent than you are led to believe and expensive(500.00 for initial tests and 250.00 for the future tests). The medication from the compounding pharmacy was almost always a few days late, despite signing up for automatic refills, which certainly didn’t do any good to stabilize my hormone levels. I didn’t really notice any difference in mood, weight, sleep, etc, with the exception of noticing increased libido with the implanted testosterone pellet. It was 300.00 for the actual implantation, but there was some miscommunication about this price and he did the second implant for free. Of course, there is a required 250.00 blood test 2 months after the implant is inserted, followed in another month by a 200.00 — 250.00 dollar office visit. When I informed the office that I was moving and was no longer continuing with Body Logic, despite having refills of some of the medications, they actually cancelled them! Save your time and your money, and skip the Body Logic hype.
