We really like coming here to sing karaōke with a group of friends we always reserve the large room! The food is pretty good here too my favorite is the Kim chee fried rice & chicken wings. The watermelon soju is good too. They provide valet for $ 3 which is pretty good deal and it takes the worrying off of me to find parking. The negative sides were that the room gets pretty hot when a lot of people are in it and the song selection could be better. The books were falling apart and the setup was hard to find songs. However I would recommend this place to friends and family for good food, a good place to sing karaōke & delicious soju!

Karaōke was pretty good, they had all the new songs but I guess you have to be a regular to know how to get the newer songs. You should go there early because there’s always a long line of singers and they’re pretty good. Also very nice waitresses, always check on you. Wish we started the night there, up beat crowd, good food, and good karaōke.

I love going to Blue Ribbon because there has never been a time where I wasn’t able to reserve a room! Reserving a room is free of charge, you just pay for drinks and $ 1 songs. The waitresses are always checking on us and friendly, the rooms are simply decorated, but the karaōke books could use a little refreshing of new songs :) Regardless I like the atmosphere here. A more ‘local’ older crowd, definitely come here if you need a break from the Asian bars. Prices are pretty reasonable too. Definitely cheaper than Nocturna. Plus they have Happy Hour starting later in the night too!

Five just for Kristy. Best most awesome server ever. Cheerful and happy and attentive. Come here for service and fun. But also for Kristy. So adorbs! Okay lemme write a little more detail now that it’s the next day and I can be more coherent. When people write that it’s like duck butt I suppose they mean their business which is bar and open karaōke in main room and smaller karaōke rooms on side. But what is different is that it’s cleaner and there are more song choices. And the biggest difference is the service. The servers here bust their butts making sure their customers never run outta drinks or water. They will run different tabs for huge groups. And they are friendly and helpful. Kristy was funny quirky and instantly made you feel like you had been going there for years. Song choices were plentiful and they can search if u can’t find the title. Mixed drinks were strong and by the end of the night we were all singing all the songs without mikes. It got rowdy but the servers kept serving and closed out tabs etc. food is fine and their kimchi is really fermented and yummy. They accommodated our huge group of maybe thirty or forty people with real excellent service. I’m sure we were a challenge. Overall I would rather come here than duck butt. Maybe cuz I’m older? I didn’t go into the rooms but maybe I will next time.

I normally come here on a regular basis. By doing so, I have met a lot of great people as well as made some great friends! The workers as well as the owners always make me feel welcome as soon as I arrive. It’s a pretty mixed crowd from college/young adults to mid aged patrons. Workers are always on point with service and pay good attention to their customers! Food selection is above average but not overly priced. Drinks are well priced. Karaōke is definitely a big thing at this place, especially on the weekends. Valet Parking is available on Fridays, Saturdays and special events. My only critique would be that I wish that this place was bigger. I always look forward to coming here whenever I can!

I’ve been to Blue Ribbon in the past. They provided excellent service, the food was delicious, and for $ 1 a song you can’t go wrong. So I suggested this place again to a group of friends this past weekend. On our way there we unfortunately faced really bad traffic due to Obama’s departure. We called to let them know that we were running late and the worker told us that it would be ok. Prior to that, when I made the reservation for 9 pm for the karaōke room they took down my name and number. When we finally got there they told us they would only hold the room for 15 mins past our reservation time(915 pm for us) and then would give it away if we didn’t show up. I totally understand their policy but they never informed us about that when I made the reservation and when we called to let them know we were going to be late. They also had my name and number so they should’ve at least called to let us know they had to give away the room. Instead we wasted our time heading there and then having to find another place to sing karaōke. I still think this place is an awesome karaōke place it’s just unfortunate we had to face this inconvenience.

Service: Friendly and accommodating. You can tell the workers want you to feel welcome and have a good time. It’s refreshing to be around staff who aren’t focused solely on what they can earn from their line of work, but rather how they can best represent the business itself. Food: Standard local bar grub. Standouts: the kimchee is made fresh in-house; the kalbi is marinated by actual Koreans who work the kitchen, and the Korean-style ramyun is a marvelous thing to get in your tummy before driving home after a long night’s gallivanting. Don’t be afraid to ask for small dietary accommodations or switchouts — all reasonable requests will be acknowledged. Portions are pupu-sized, and are meant for sharing. Beverage: Korean sojus, beer, and full bar. Karaōke: This is a karaōke-heavy establishment, and it’s very likely there will be singing constantly throughout the night. Fortunately, there seem to be very talented regulars. Karaōke rooms are free, although the staff do ask that you keep spending money on food and drinks, and don’t forget to take care of your server!(Don’t camp out for four hours and buy a beer and a sprite. Campers are the very worst. I think Dante’s Ninth Circle has a little section for them wherein they’re forced to drink bad tequila.) Crowd: Runs the gamut. But everyone is smiling.

I feel like this is an episode of The Twilight Zone! Wanted to hang out with friends over a few cocktails and talk… a man came and sat down and started talking to us. We were in the middle of discussing something, but he didn’t seem to notice and started talking about himself. A lot. Nice man, but still… it was a little uncomfortable. Overall, cheap drinks, decent food, attentive staff, seems clean… but you get the feeling you’re being watched… can’t put my finger on it except… feels like the Twilight Zone! Maybe they should rename the place…

The girls that work there are super nice and attentive. They also have a great variety of songs to pick from for karaōke. My only complaint is their calamari, it was so overcooked/chewy/rubbery that I had to send it back. The kalbi was good but could have had a little more flavor. Everything else was great. There is a minimum for the tab if you want to reserve a room(ours was 40). Songs are $ 1 each and valet was $ 3. The soju carafes were $ 20 in a bunch of different flavors.

Reserved the large karaōke room last night and had a blast; we had a pretty big party and they were able to accommodate us quickly. The tater tot nachos could’ve used more tots and less jalapenos, and they definitely weren’t skimpy with the flavored soju. More soju than flavoring, haha. But overall, pricing of the foods, especially during happy hour was great. The song selection could’ve been easier to find if we were able to find the songs by artist instead of title in the books, but we all enjoyed ourselves fairly well. Nice and intimate ambiance, and it was a place for the older crowd, but I didn’t mind. I might definitely return with my friends; only downfall would be the parking arrangements. It’s kinda tight so I’d suggest carpooling.

We reserved the large karaōke room at Blue Ribbon Bar and Grill for a night of singing and nachos. It was pretty awesome. They have two kinds of nachos, regular and tater tot. The nachos were your average sports bar quality but everyone really seemed to love the tater tot option. It took us a minute to figure the karaōke machine out and it was a little weird to sit in the room when there was no songs playing cause it was so quiet. You have to pay $ 1 per song so people were choosy in their picks. Once we started singing, we didn’t really stop except to eat. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any cooler, the waiter turned on the disco ball for us. Then we discovered the lights moved in sync to the microphone. AMAZING! I gave an evil laugh into the microphone watching the lights move around with the bellowing sounds. This made me laugh for real. Which made Autumn laugh for real. Which made me laugh for real. Next thing we knew, the whole room was laughing out loud until our eyes watered. Laughter really is contagious. The staff was super friendly, Michael especially, and took great care of us in the room. I would definitely bring friends back here to try out more of menu that looks amazing!

Great service from everyone including the owner. Some foods are good there, some not so good – too salty. Don’t order the poke because it’s «not that good» I’m told by the workers there, which give me more respect for their honesty. Song selection is the best I’ve seen anywhere. If you wanna sing it, they got it. Drink prices are THE best anywhere, which makes up for the limited selection. 4 and a half stars to me. Free room bumps it to 5 stars.

Avoid the Shrimp. If you want shrimp, this is sub average. I think Long John Silvers has better seafood. If you want to disappoint yourself try the Shrimp :)

This is a fun little place to stop by grab some food, sing a bit of karaōke and have a few drinks. Karaōke booths cannot be reserved, they are in a first come first served basis. They are free. you just pay for your songs… songs are $ 1 each. Offering a variety of Korean and English songs. The shoju carafe’s are yummy! My fave flavor is the lychee and the melon. All the flavors aren’t bad. Others in my group had blueberry, strawberry and coffee flavored. The food isn’t bad. Nothing really stood out for what we ordered other than the fried gizzards. This place is sort of a local dive bar but has a lot of character. And filled with lots of characters. The parking lot is super small!

Pretty awesome place. Older crowd so you don’t get harassed by annoying punks. $ 1 per song, good system, the KJ brings you the mic when it’s your turn. You can get a room free(pay $ 1 song) or sing in the common bar. The atmosphere is pretty chill so they get a decent crowd of regulars, and their singing is good too so always enjoyable. They have the newest songs too! Drinks are decent priced, Soju is $ 20 – 25 each. They serve basic Korean food, which is OK and not overly priced. Service was the best, the girls are always on it. As soon as your drink is low they come right over.

Blue Ribbon was such a hilarious experience. It is like Duck Butt… for the older crowd. They have a lot of the same yummy Korean dishes with the chicken, pancakes and soju. I will say that the prices are noticeably lower at Blue Ribbon than they are at the Butt, so that is a bonus. The bar is staffed with Korean beauties and the karaōke is rockin. There was never a break in music because the karaōke que was always full. That was kind of fun… of course we enjoyed some singers more than others, but when they were good, they were really good! They do have the private rooms, if you prefer that option, but I am now a proponent of performing. I suck, but I have fun! We arrived at the bar this past Saturday night and immediately found a booth, front and center to the karaōke. We ordered yogurt soju and some other drink specials they had going that night. We also ordered their fried rice, kimchee pancake and the whole fried chicken. Everything was really good. I really enjoyed the consistency of the pancake. It is thicker than some other places, which makes it much easier to eat. The chicken was juicy and delicious with the crispy skin. Later in the night, the place was packed with a biker club and some other groups celebrating birthdays. It was a good crowd of supportive karaōke singers. I will say that I wish they had another bathroom. There was a drunk girl in the restroom for a long while and a few of us were lined up outside waiting a while to get in. Her friend essentially needed to come get her out of there… hot mess… so funny though. Overall, we had a really fun night singing to our hearts’ content while eating yummy food. I would totally come back here, but I think I would like to sit at the bar with the regulars… they seem like a fun bunch!

Just ask anyone that knows me well, I unknowingly sing when I’m in the car. Sometimes I change the lyrics to the song to what’s going on. I don’t realize it until someone tells me that I’m doing it, and that’s when I just laugh and stop. There are many karaōke joints on Oahu and the reason I love Blue Ribbon is their policy for private rooms for karaōke. Want to sing in the room? Sure, just buy food. You don’t need to drop $ 20 – 60 an hour for a room like most other places. They charge a song by a dollar. If you compare it with places that charge $ 60 per hour for a room and you sing an average of 15 songs per hour at most, that’s $ 4 per song. Blue Ribbon does have some of the newer songs but not a whole complete list like other places. Fair enough, I rather save and sing older classics from Journey. The drinks are on par with what you find in Asian karaōke bars and prices are quite reasonable. Food wise, portions are a bit small and prices are aligned with other spots. You won’t come here specifically for food, but you will have to buy something from the menu if you’re going to take a room. Ample parking on site with plenty of street parking at night. Open until 2. Perfect.

This was my first time going to Blue Ribbon’s for a friends birthday. I didn’t realize that they were that busy. The place isn’t that big but it was standing room only. If you want to sing you have to put money in the karaōke machines. When we first arrived, we sat in the main lounge and the songs were $ 1 each but the wait was an hour and a half so we decided to go into a private room when one opened up. Songs were $ 2 in the private rooms. For some odd reason, the workers came to check on us and asked if we needed to order anything every 10 minutes. It got kind of annoying. The food and drinks here were kind of pricey. I ordered a cranberry and orange juice mix(2 glasses) and a can of diet coke. They were $ 4 a piece, so $ 12 for two juices and a can of diet coke. For pupus, we got the calamari and fried chicken wings. They were $ 10 a plate and there wasn’t much food on there. The food was good but for the price they should give a little more.

OVERALL: Very nice on the inside. Looks a bit ghetto on the outside. I really like the white chairs and tables. I also like how they have nice ornaments hanging from the ceiling. They look like clear balls with blue and white feathers in them. Very cute! FOOD: Pupu’s are okay. Most of them are about $ 8-$ 15. Its really nothing special just your typical bar food. KARAOKE: It’s only $ 1 a song, which is pretty reasonable. They have three private rooms. The largest room can fit about 15 – 20 people. It’s actually free to use a room, just have to call in advance to make sure they are available.
