So I was very excited to try this sandwich. I wasn’t too impressed with it. We got the Philly cheesesteak with whiz. The steak was cooked and chopped pretty well. The whiz was great. The bread wasn’t too bad. But the meat was bland and needed more salt. And there was so much pepper on the meat that it overwhelmed the flavor. All I could taste was pepper. Now I like pepper but this was way too much. For a cheesesteak you want to enhance the flavors of the meat. Using the correct amount of salt and pepper is crucial. Luckily I’m going to Philly soon to eat some authentic ones. Maybe I caught them on a bad night. I don’t know if I would try this again. Plus it took 10 mins to make this sandwich. With a hot flattop and the meat chopped, I would expect this to be much faster.

I’m not interested in the classic Philly, but the Southern is a damn good sandwich. The meat is very clean and tender, no fatty/gristly chunks. That’s a big factor for me. The BBQ sauce and cole slaw work great together. And it’s plenty big, but I don’t feel like I need a nap an hour later, quite a miracle for a big meaty sandwich. Nice friendly guys too. I do wish they’d share where they’ll be each day. Just a quick Tweet as you park can’t be that hard, can it? Beats taking phone calls from hungry customers.

Their truck was at Eat the Street Oktoberfest last night and I tried the garlic philly tater tots. By far some of the best food I’ve had at an Eat the Street event. I hope they come back! If not, I’ll have to visit them outside the event. I’ll have to try a sandwich next time!

I split the Philly sandwich and Philly fries with my co-worker. Big portions! And prices were reasonable. I enjoyed the Philly Fries. I suggest dipping the fries in ranch sauce. Best combo! But unfortunately, our sandwich wasn’t as good. The meat was dry. I probably wouldn’t get it again. Overall, average tasting truck.

After catching the advertisement on KHON, I decided on Friday, July 4th weekend(one of the best days of the year for a cheesesteak) to check them out, only to be super-mislead by Unilocal! So I called and they told me Unilocal is wrong and to comeback 5 – 10 pm at another location… then I wait 5 hrs only to find out they will be closed because the parking lot for the truck isn’t open; which wasn’t the truth because other Street Grindz vendors were open… called again and Josh says he’ll hook me up come Monday– we shall see!

Guys are super nice, and the #1 Philly with cheese wiz is the best on the island by far. Great service and great food. Go!!!

I had the Philly Fries today. They are fresh cut, so in my opinion they could use slightly more seasoning. I for sure think it needed a little more salt. I also think the ribeye was a little more seasoning. It’s better than being over seasoned though. I want to try the Mexican Taco Sandwich!

Great sandwiches! Good price! And made by local guys who are friendly and helpful. We ordered the Taco sandwich, Southern sandwich and Philly fries. After tasting each other’s choices my husband suggested sharing, this may not seem like a big deal to most but he NEVER suggests sharing. Both sandwiches were great and it’s hard to pick a favorite from the two. The bread and soft and holds the sandwich well. I enjoyed that the sandwiches were full of content but they weren’t overly messy(especially good for working lunch crowds, no one wants to go back to work wearing their lunch!). The fries are homemade from potatoes not pre frozen, it makes a difference! I’m not a huge fan of cheeze wiz but the wiz here is good. Not too salty and fake tasting like most. Give Big & Beast a try! Ps: They also have a Facebook page so you can see where they will be. They are showing up at more and more festivals and events around town!

I tried these cheese steak sandwiches for the first time today. The service was really fast and efficient. This is a perfect place to get some food if you’re on a time crunch for lunch in downtown. I think there were three people ahead of me and I got my food within five minutes. I ordered their #1 combo — cheese steak sandwich with fries and a drink. After walking back to my office I opened up the container and a heavenly scent wafted out. The bread was soft, cheese wiz was abundant, and onions and mushrooms topped everything off. The onions were perfectly sauteed, the mushrooms could have used a little more time on the grill/in the pan but were perfectly fine. The meat was tender, but not as flavorful as I thought it would be. I am used to having green bell peppers in my cheese steak sandwich and would have liked the option for yay or nay. I will try this food truck again… they have different selections on their menu that I would like to sample.

They were at the Leilehua High school event 2nd’s and I decided to give them a try. So here it goes. I had the number one, which is the Philly cheesesteak, overall it was good, BUT I would definitely ask for a different type of cheese next time because the cheese that they used was very liquidly, which got messy quickly. The meat(steak) could use a bit more flavor, but I’m just nit-picking when it comes to that.

Boyfriend and I got the #1 Philly Cheesesteak and shared the Philly Fries. The steak in the sandwich was dry. Other than that, it was good.

If you’re looking for a unique cheesesteak spot that’s quick and convenient, then look no more! This truck has a variety of cheesesteak based sandwiches that will satisfy your mood; Mexican, BBQ, original etc. They serve their sandwiches on a soft bread with tender beef and fresh toppings. Also, their sauces they use to set the sandwich adds a bold flavor that is hella bomb! Their service is always prompt and prices are reasonable for their generous portions they give out. Keep an eye out for this food truck bc it’s definitely a gem you wouldn’t want to miss out on

These guys run a great food truck operation. They’re friendly and priced well. The food comes out quick, hot, and they have really good fries. The 4 different sandwich options would suit any craving for the day. There is the philly, mexican, bbq, and teri. I will continue to go here for lunch. The only thing is that I don’t care for the cheese they use on the philly and fries. It’s a velvetta cheese whiz type cheese, but apparently that’s the traditional style cheese used on a philly.
