Okay, they are open early, one star. Their process are reasonable, two starts. The food is less than good, minus one star. They are not friendly, minus one star. Ordered fried wontons and it was cold on the inside, minus one star. They are not ready for peime time or even a time zone anywhere close.

Why name your business Best? when your restaurant is not even close to Best? I mistaken this restaurant for Best Drive-In on Sand Island. (Which has close to 5 stars on Unilocal) I hope you don’t make the same mistake as I did. I gave this business a try for American Express, small business Saturdays. I regret I should have support other small business. I learned and for sure, I won’t be back! FYI– the pictures on the wall is exactly what you will get, I just realized that when I saw all the pictures and got my food. I ordered 2 plates. bbq chicken and meat jun combo, no rice– spicy bbq chiken and fish jun combo, no rice– FYI-No rice, is no rice– no extra veggie to replace the rice & another FYI– both bbq chicken is one small piece and a half piece of chicken(cut in half) Who does this??? cuts their chicken in half!!! The meat jun was only a few pieces. The veggies wasn’t nothing to write about, it was ok, I had way better! It was spoiled the nexts day. :0((a small bowl of veggie was the only leftover) & the food was just ok, the sauce, saved the meat jun and fish jun. Thank goodness for the sauce! If you want leftovers, for the nexts meal, this is not the place to go to. I got take out & one plate for me and one for the hubby. He ate all his + I shared my plate with him. The combo plate cost 10.99, this is for a regular. I wonder how a mini’s portion looks? Could the portion get any smaller than it already is for a combo plate?!! Thank you American Express for allowing me to check out this place. But then I went to the wrong«Best» business. Nextst go to, on my Korean BBQ food venture: Me’s BBQ in Waikiki.

A friend and I went here a couple months ago. We both ordered the beef bulgogi(«bulgoki») Food: 4 Stars. The food was good and I enjoyed the side dishes except the tofu(I am not a tofu fan in general). The beef had a good juicy flavor and had a great aroma. I do not like mushrooms so I pushed them off to the side. Beef bulgogi has its variations and next time I will just have to ask for no mushrooms. Service: 5 Stars. One lady was running the restaurant. She cooked and served. She was very friendly and as soon as we were out of a couple side dishes she came and asked if we wanted more. She also kept our water full in a neat looking thermos type thing which was great to combat the summer heat outside. Atmosphere: 4.5 Stars. Nice hole in the wall place. It is small establishment, yet it does not feel cramped. It was a little warm inside, but it was a very hot day outside so it was understandable. The ice cold water also was also refreshing and great to cool down with. Total: 4.5 Stars(13.5÷3=4.5). This place is my third favorite Korean restaurant I have been to throughout the country. The food is tasty, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is relaxing. (The photo of my bulgogi was after I had eaten a bit of it. I was excited to dig in so I did not take the time to photograph it first. A few minutes into it, I remembered I should probably take a photo for Unilocal).

Had the bibim kook soo and was very disappointed. It was too sweet, too soupy, and they included an over-easy egg instead of the usual BBQ meat strips. Totally not worth the $ 9 price!

Cute hole-in-the-wall! Nakai Saimin used to be in this space, but they only have their food truck, so be warned since the Unilocal page is still open. I am sad they are gone, but this new place is a worthy replacement. They even have saimin and loco moco if you came here expecting Nakai Saimin. Best has a load of items to order, but I came to a Korean restaurant to eat Korean food, not a loco moco. I got the Kalbi at 13 bucks. My parents ordered meat jun and tofu soup. I also ordered 6 piece mandoo. Of course, there was a bunch of side dishes before we got our main dish. The service was great. I love the ice water with a lot of lemon. The lady is very nice and helpful. The restaurant table layout isn’t as crowded as before. There are only four tables inside, but it doesn’t feel cramped. Only metered street parking is available, unless you wanna risk parking in the Safeway parking lot. I will be back. I really like the experience of dining in a small place with good food.

A new Korean BBQ restaurant on Nuuanu ave. They just recently opened their doors about a month ago. They are located where Nakai saimin used to be. As of yet, I’ve only tried their breakfast special but the rest of their menu looks promising. I’ll be back with an empty stomach to reload on with their plate lunches. The staff is nice. They do accept credit cards but with a $ 10 minimum. There are only a few tables in here so if you’re planning on dining in, hold a table before they’re gone. Parking can be an issue, there is only a few street metered parking stalls. *Tip: Go real early in the morning while parking is still easy to find
