Bessie’s Lei Stand

Great flower Leis made with aloha. I think there should be stands inside airport at arrivals and also departures. Every international incoming flight should be greated with live music hula and fresh leis for each guest. Add 5 $ price to tickets it would help local economy and make people happy improve travel experience. Like old days when everyone felt the aloha … Lei Stands are too far away from gates /​parking making it hard if not impossible to buy a lei if trying to meet a flight or aloha oe. The whole airport needs to be redesigned around train station and there should be flowers everywhere making the place look great and smell like paradise

My cousin and I came to the airport to do some «lei price shopping» Stall 1 (not so friendly). As we pass BESSIE’S, the nice lady with black hat, with a big smile said-​how can I help you? We smiled but moved on to Stall 2-​helpful a little but not really. So we go back to BESSIE’S because a certain colorful lei caught my cousin’s attention. I started to ask the prices and Ms. Kuulei comes out to assist. She is awwwwwsome! She asked us to come inside. We saw more leis in the ref and she chatted with us-​asking us questions and giving us tips. Fresh, hand strung leis! She turned around our not so pleasant encounter with the other stalls into a good one. We left her stall with happy faces, learned a thing or two about leis, my cousin bought 4 leis for Father’s Day and we will most definitely come back in 2 weeks! She also owns the lei stall-​Puu Mei Lei. As we left, she tells us-there’s always a solution. We’re happy our lei solution is BESSIE’S and PUU MEI LEI!

The convenience of this lei stand at the airport is immeasurable, especially for people like me without a car. Any errand becomes a mini mission so this saves me picking up a lei somewhere in town before hand. The ladies are super friendly that work here and give a kamaaina discount. The prices are very reasonable! $ 5 – 20

Ku showed me a freshly made beautiful double tuberose lei, and I immediately knew this is the right place to order my leis for next day pick up before departure. There are several color options and I chose white, since it was for funeral service in Japan. Ku is such a lovely lady with full of Aloha and Mana, so her fresh leis made with hand picked flowers are all so beautiful, refreshing, and pure. I’m so glad that I chose Bessie’s for my special occcation.
