909 Beauty Essence

I love this place. Kylie (i think i may have spelled her name wrong) cut my hair and she did an amazing job. I would def recommend going to her. I wished I would’ve met her sooner. Keep in mind, if you’re ever around this area and needs a haircut, GO SEE HER! You won’t be disappointed.

I don’t trust my eyebrows to just anyone, and when my esthetician was unavailable (which was rare) I was sold on this place because of the 5 star rating.
Parking, was a problem. Yes, there were stalls available. Really TINY ones. I squeezed my SUV in there with barely room to maneuver out.
Inside, was clean and inviting. As the two workers were presently with clients, I was acknowledged by warm smiles and offered coffee, tea, or water.
The gal that took me was very knowledgeable with skin care, took her time, yet really messed up my brows. I just needed them to be cleaned up. The shape was already there.
While the price was reasonable — I guess I got what I paid for.
I guess this place is rated 5 stars based on the mere fact that the less than 5 comments on here gave more than satisfactory ratings.
I personally will not be coming back.

I’ve been coming to get my eyebrows done by Jennifer since I was in the 7^th grade and I’ve never been disappointed! I once got my eyebrows done by someone other than her because I didn’t have any time to drive in to town and boy did I regret it. I grew it out and made sure I made an appointment with Aunty Jennifer and sure enough, she worked her magic, yet again. (You’re probably like, why is this girl calling her, Aunty?! Well, I’ve been seeing her since I was a kid, & my mom always referred to her as «Aunty Jennifer») Her newly renovated location right across of Neal Blaisdell Center brings tranquility to anyone’s day. You walk in and you can instantly see how clean, organized and welcoming the salon is. The music, the appearance, the place in general is just so relaxing.
Jennifer as a person is just so caring and open. You can tell helping us customers to look and feel our best isn’t a job for her, it comes very naturally. I can’t stress enough how comfortable I feel when I come in for my appointments with her. Always so happy to see us and excited to catch up with what’s been going on in our lives. :)

Jennifer is awesome! I have been going to her for almost 15 years, and the magic she works on my brows… amazing! I’ve always had thick, straight brows, but Jennifer skillfully sculpted them into beautiful arches via waxing and meticulous tweezing, ensuring not one tiny hair is out of place. I’ve also had other waxing services done by Jennifer, she is always professional and thorough, and goes above and beyond to ensure her client is comfortable and has a great experience. No service has ever been rushed, and I always come out feeling like a million bucks! Jennifer is also a professional aesthetician, and I am looking forward to having a facial done by her soon.
Her newest location (formerly known as Skin Studio 909) has been expanded to include chairs for salon services, and a separate massage room. Parking is free on the first floor, and there are two entrances to the salon, one via the parking lot, and one via Kapiolani Blvd.

Clean, comfortable and inviting! This salon is owned and runned by the beautiful Jennifer Akana who takes the time to cater to each customer individually without any outside distractions. Even though your appointment is scheduled for 1.5 hours she takes her time to ensure top quality service and sometimes you walk out not knowing that 2 hours went by. She doesn’t rush you in and give you mediocre service and rush you out before the next appointment. She strategically schedules her appointments and gives ample time to run over your schedule appointment to ensure satisfaction. She takes time at each appointment to listen to any concerns you may have and she explains everything she is going to do and while she is doing it. I go monthly for my customized facials which is well worth the $ 90. I walk out toned, refreshed and relaxed. I also experienced my first brazilian wax through her and though it took me three «dates» to feel comfortable to ask about it she guided me through the whole process and I felt comfortable through the entire session. Appointments are highly suggested as she is always booked due to popular demand!
