I recently did a taste test at the brewery. This place is great. I went here to buy some of their Harvest Jack Pumpkin ale. It is probably one of the best beers that I have ever tasted. The brewery is very clean and the staff is very helpful. They are also very knowledgeable of their products. I will be back to this brewery even though it is a little over an hour away from my house.

A great space with a great selection of craft brews! I was apart of a beer tour and a bunch of us stopped in here. The staff was very informative and attentive & the menu gave a small description of each beer which helped A LOT. Get the Doppelbock if you’re here(or at least try it!) Amazing. Everything I tasted was very good and I would much recommend CB to people who love craft brews! If interested, they even have a tour of their brewery.

CB offers a good variety of beers ranging in many different styles. I visited on a Saturday afternoon and had a very nice experience. The bartender was very informative about the history of the brewery, the current beers on tap, and their contract business. $ 4 to sample($ 6 if you want to keep the glass) and you get to taste 6 different beers. All of the beers I sampled were very good. My favorite was the Caged Alpha Monkey IPA. My wife was a designated driver and was offered homemade root beer which she enjoyed. For merchandise the gift shop featured glasses, shirts, mugs, etc. You can also purchase growlers, kegs and 6 packs. For those interested in food there’s a small pub off to the side of the tasting room. From what I can tell the food looked decent but we did not order anything. If your traveling near Honeoye Falls, stop in. A nice diversion on our way to Rochester.

Went here last night while in town for work. The beer is good. Not the best I’ve had but definitely worth checking out. The Caged Alpha Money is really good and I heard it’s their«flagship beer». Let me preface the food portion of this by saying I’ve never had a garbage plate before. The guy pouring our beer mentioned the chef had only been here a few weeks. From what I can tell he’s doing a great job. The plate was really good. I got it with a burger and the burger was delicious and cooked great. The plate here was described to me as a «gourmet» plate. So it’s not as greasy and messy as your average plate. But the meat hot is really good. Overall I would say if you’re in the Honeoye Falls area it’s for sure worth checking out. I don’t know though if I’d go TOO far out of my way.

Tons of variety! It’s cool to be ample to sample custom beers for a number of different restaurants all in one place. The CB brews are great too. When you buy a tasting, you get a discount off of a growler. There’s a nice eat-in«pub»(which is more like a nook) that we didn’t get to try this visit, but hopefully will next time. There are also a ton of unique items to purchase as well in the gift shop area.

CB produces some of my favorite beers: Caged Alpha Monkey, CB Canandaigua Lake Ale, Three Heads Kind, Turtle Crawl Porter. I am sure I am forgetting one or five, but it is besides my point: They make some great beer! I would give their beers 5 stars. FOUR stars because as far as a beer tasting location, this place just feels weird. Don’t get me wrong, the staff were all very friendly! It was just the atmosphere. They need to redecorate. It wasn’t really a place I wanted to hang out in. Thank god the staff was so welcoming and friendly. Also the«Pint and Goblet Tavern»? It is a section of the tasting room. The food is so-so. The Caged Alpha Monkey burger was pretty good. Don’t waste your cash on the Brewers Plate. We had a long wait for our food, I walked by the kitchen– there was one guy cooking in a teeny room smaller than the kitchen in my home. No wonder. Poor chap. Even if he had help I don’t know if there was room for another person to be in there. Anyway, to summarize: drop in have some AWESOME tastings, get a growler to go, skip the food unless you are just eating slow the alcohol absorption.

We went out to CB Craft Brewers this past weekend and had a great time sampling some beers there. I’ve been a fan of their Caged Alpha Monkey for quite a while and had been meaning to get out to Honeyoye to check out their tasting room. While it may look a little far, it’s actually a fairly easy drive from Rochester, only about 25 minutes away from my place on the southern end of town, and even closer if you’re in Pittsford or Brighton. We happened to be out at Mendon Ponds for the afternoon, and it was very convenient to get to from there. The tasting room itself is pretty standard, though the size of the bar and number of beers on tap is impressive, and bigger than many other small brewery tap rooms that I’ve been to. I do wish there had been someplace to sit here, whether inside or out, with the only seating options available in the dedicated bar space. All said though, we tried a great sample of beers for a reasonable price($ 6 for 6−4oz samples) and got a commemorative 4oz glass out of the deal. They have a variety of their own beers as well as a number of other contract brews on tap with a good selection of ales, lagers, hefeweizens, and fruit beers to suit any taste. The bartenders and brewmasters were all knowledgeable and helped us to pick out beers that everyone liked. I would definitely recommend CB Craft Brewers to a beer lover in the Rochester area. It’s a fun place to check out!

I really enjoy their beers, but do not enjoy the new location. Just feels like they sold out. Its amazing to see the successes they have created for themselves, but the atmosphere was so much better when they were little and less knew about them. The days of hanging out in the tasting room with your dog seem to have been left in the past. It feels like its big business now, right down to the employees attitudes. Maybe its me, but even with the size of Brooklyn Brewery, still feels small and your apart of it. Not saying I wont continue to support CB’s, I just don’t go to the showroom anymore.

As a supporter of local businesses and a guy that enjoys a nice cold beer, this place is heaven. I like coming here get my growlers filled and wouldn’t you know it, they also have a relaxing little tavern inside. I have eaten there a few times and the food is well prepared and very fresh. They take the extra step. For example, I ordered the toasted ham and Swiss hot sandwich. Not cold cuts but sliced ham, fresh lettuce, melted Swiss on a toasted sour dough bread with spicy chipotle mustard. Delicious. Went perfectly with my pint. My son got a pulled pork sandwich, he said it was good but being seventeen he gobbled so fast I couldn’t get a photo.

Great location. Huge place to sample not only craft brewers but also some of the nearby local beers! How cool is that!?! Many breweries I’ve been to wouldn’t even think of doing something like that! $ 4.00 lets you have 62oz samples of any beer on there list. There’s plenty to choose from. Only thing I dislike is the fact there’s way too many IPA’s sorry I’m not a huge fan! With the $ 4.00 you can get 2 of it back if you decide to purchase or refill a growler, so you really can’t go wrong! Friendly staff, great selection of merchandise and even food available at certain times of the day. This is a great beer stop when visiting the fingerlakes region. Stop in Honeoye afterwards and visit the falls. I’ll be back

As a Honeoye Falls native, I started out sipping on their root beer. Now, I get the pleasure of enjoying their brews. I no longer live in Honeoye Falls, so it’s nice to go back for visits every so often. The new location is huge with a nice open tasting room that blends into a merch store, plus the Pint & Goblet Tavern offers food — open on the weekends and Thurs. They have ~20+ beers on tap and tastings are $ 6 if you want a tasting glass to bring home with you. Otherwise, it’s $ 4 for six samples. I usually end up with a growler fill too — keep bringing ‘em back to refill. I recommend visiting for a tour too. Super informative for the novice and even the expert home brewer. They make a lot of small batch brews and seasonals so you should at least be visiting 4 times a year to get a taste of the new ones on tap. Some of my fave brews: — Caged Alpha Monkey — awesome local citrus-y IPA. — Joe Latte Stout(seasonal) was amazing — coffee-based dark brew with hints of vanilla. — Harvest Jack(seasonal) — great pumpkin ale — not too overpowering. They host a lot of events so it’s a good way to entice you to get out to that area. You’ll find the beers on tap at a lot of places around town too. Three Heads Brewing also brews their beer here and now offer tasting for their brews. A win for both parties!

A nice locale for beer tasting. Great selection of beers and knowledgeable staff. CB Craft Brewers brew their own beers and also make custom brews for other small brewers and restaurants. In their location you get to sample most of their creations, so the selection is huge! My friend brought a growler of one of her favorite, the pumpkin seasonal, and it was actually as cheap as buying a nice six pack of high quality beer, we were pleasantly surprised by their prices too. It is a bit out of the way for us, in Honeoye Falls, and I do feel that their location in a strip mall is a bit impersonal, but the selection of beers and cozy interior makes up for it. I won’t mention which ones were my favorites(the Porter!), because taste in beer is very personal.

We have been here several times, including for my brother’s 21st birthday. It is always a good experience and they recently started offering food, which is a smart addition. Living in the city it’s a bit of a drive out to Honeoye Falls, but gorgeous really any time of the year. Fall is our favorite! 5 stars for the beer; 3 – 3.5 stars for the food. My husband likes coming here for their cool beer selection. His recent favs are the plum one and the scotch ale. You can also taste some favorite custom restaurant beers here, which is cool. I am not as much a beer fan, but the staff are cool and knowledgeable, which makes it a fun trip. I tried their unfiltered rye, recently, and thought it was good and mild. Their root beer is really really good and of course safe for kids, too! =) Definitely take the brewery tour, if you have a chance. As I said, the staff are knowledgeable, so I’d recommend asking all your questions to make it a more enriching experience. Food: Turkey Reuben(listed under paninis) is quite good. I would get that again. Fresh tasting ingredients and good flavor. Not dry. Ploughman’s platter cheeses and sausages were really good. We would definitely get that again for a bite during/after a beer tasting. Quesadillas are ok; the super fresh salsa and sour cream they’re served with makes them better. Beef stew was simultaneously a bit watery and definitely bitter(they use beer in it). They need LOTS more rich, beef stock flavor, but the beef itself was pretty good(could be tenderized more), and the veggies in it were good — well cooked, but not mushy or flavorless. A little work and this could be a really good stew. Mainly just need to fix the broth. I’d be interested in trying their chili or some of their wraps and BLTs. Overall it’s so cool to have places like this here in Rochester. We have been back a bunch of times and are happy they’re doing food now, too.

Rochester has become home to a number of local craft brews and CB2 is a major player in town. They contract brew a lot for local bars and brewers like Rogers and 3 Heads. I have sampled much of what they have to offer but I think I like their IPAs. I like a hoppy beer and theirs are decent. I also like their pumpkin beer(which is more pumpkin spice). The Alpha Caged Monkey is their flagship brew and always a good choice. I see it pretty often at local bars and restaurants. Side note: I don’t love the name change.

CB’s is a cool little brewery just off W Main St in Honeoye Falls, just a few miles from Mendon Ponds Park. I discovered CB’s through Tap & Mallet when on a whim I ordered a CB’s cask ale that turned out to be one of the better beers I’ve tried. Once I realized how close we were to the brewery, I figured a visit was definitely in order. My boyfriend and I split a tasting — 63.5 oz beer tasting samples & a tasting glass for only $ 6(or $ 4 without the glass), and buying the tasting gets you $ 2 off a growler, which is pretty sweet. The bartenders were awesome, super nice and very knowledgeable and helped to advise us on some good choices for our palates. I think there were about 25 – 30 beers on tap for tasting. I’m not a huge beer drinker so he helped me try a variety of some less hoppy beers that were more to my liking, including an unfiltered rye, a light wheat beer, and a maibock. The beers we tasted were really good and we ended up leaving with a growler of hefeweizen for about $ 11. CB’s offers tours which I believe are about 25 minutes. We skipped this time, but maybe in the future we’ll check it out. If you’re looking for a snack, there is also a little gift shop with assorted snacks like chips and porter caramels and a small sit-down restaurant with your average pub fare. Cool place for some tasty beer, and very much worth the short drive from Rochester.

We visit CBC almost every Saturday morning. With 90+ beers in the repertoire we’re able to try something new almost every week. The folks who tend our need for hops are always attentive, the store front is inviting and the beers are DELICIOUS. There is a beer for every taste. Don’t know what you want? Ask, the friendly staff will hook you up.

CB’s in Honeoye Falls is a great place to visit on a Saturday afternoon, particularly one in the fall. The newish building is in a gorgeous red barn and set back slightly from the main road in HF. It’s charming inside and here lies the creation site of 3 Heads Beer and also the OT20 at the Old Toad — some of the best beers in Rochester. I also love the Breakfast Porter they’ve recently brewed for the Toad. The tastings are reasonable and the tasting room is a nice place to hang out, especially around the bar, if you’re out and about for the day. Bring a growler, you’ll thank yourself.

Customer Brewcrafters generally has free tours on Saturday 11:00AM — 5:00PM and Sunday 12:00PM — 5:00PM. However when we went, they had canceled the rest of the tours. Sad face. To sample their many a beer on tap, you can get 6 samples for $ 4 or 6 samples with a tasting cup for $ 6. If you go ape sh*t for a beer– get a growler($ 4) and have a pour($ 8.33−13.89 depending on the beer)! I have to be honest, my socks were not knocked off by the beer. Sure, it was fine but I wasn’t impressed. Some of my favorites were the DBGB Truth Serum IPA, Hogan’s Park Ave Ale(American Brown Ale), 3 Heads«Java Sutra»(Porter) and the Old Toad Smokin’ Toad Porter. I look forward to trying their stout that’s coming out because they don’t have any stouts on tap! It’s a nice way to spend a Saturday and the people who work there are sweethearts. I’m not going to buy any of the crap in the gift shop, but I’ll drink the beer… wish they had chairs. Yeah… chairs would be cool.
