Yummy! I love Billy Bobs. Tried this place once and I am addicted. I prefer the Castroville location. However, this Billy Bobs is just as good. Service has been so-and-so, but I love it anyways! The BLT sandwich is the best! And the burgers, of course, are the bomb.

My family has stopped here every year on our way home from our annual Frio River trip. Stopping at Billy Bob’s keeps us from dreading going home. They serve one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. I love the atmosphere. It is super laid back and homey feeling. You can even write your name on the tables!(Which we’ve all done over the years). I highly recommend! I love this little place!

Maybe some of the best hamburgers in Texas… But they will mess up your order nine out of 10 times(not put cheese or bacon etc.)… Hondo location said that they do not take phone orders between 11 and two… I pick up and keep driving so I guess I will stop at the Castrovil location… I’m not going to wait 15 minutes for my order when I could just phoned it in… Hondo location acts like it’s my fault when they mess up the order and then re-run your credit card for $.50… Basically their hamburgers are awesome but their service sucks

Stopped here on the way home from a long weekend on the Frio. A good and greasy cheeseburger(I added avocado and green chiles) was just what the doctor ordered. Will definitely stop here again.

Classic local hamburger joint, basics done right, nothing fancy about the place just plain American good food. That is the ultimate compliment.

What a fun«joint» this was. It was late on Friday on our way to a wedding weekend & we figured it was the last stop before starvation. Anyway it was just something of an old time burger place. Western statues, beer signs, though no beer, wagon wheels, red checked burger paper, delicious fries — home made! & a nice big juicy burger. Just felt fun & country. Another clue it was good was that the police were eating there too. The staff was so nice — we arrived just about closing time & they were very gracious. Fixed our food, locked the door & went about checking out the restaurant. All the time we were left alone without any feeling of being rushed. Of course we felt bad about keeping them so we ate about half and took the other half to our hotel. Glad we stopped here!

Used to be one of the best around — no longer the case. The burgers are now tasteless and the bread is the WORST. The bun is one of the key ingredients for a good burger and they are using the cheapest mush to nothing buns. The meat is bland and must be frozen. Felt sick after eating it. I would rather drive to the Whataburger at the other end of town. In fact, that’s what we did the next time we wanted a burger.

On the way to or coming from Del Rio, make it a point to stop by this joint. Ignore the fact that you are talking to the cashier through a door that was cut in half or that the floor is pier and beam foundation, you didnt come for the ambiance damn it, you came to raise your cholesterol level, and this place WILL accomodate you! These are very good burgers. Juicy, with fresh ingredients. Not many good burger places between Del Rio and San Antonio, so give this place a try!

Stopped here on the way back from a trip to Eagle Pass. Always wanted to check it out but finally did. Boy, I should’ve stopped earlier. Although the patties do appear to be frozen(it was at night and I was driving so I couldn’t see) but they were really well seasoned. I had the Green Chile Burger and geez, that was one hella good burger. Seriously huge. And juicy. And loaded with toppings. So much that when I took a bite, the juices were rolling down the sides of my mouth. My son had the kids meal and he loved it. Said it tasted like a bacon burger(ok if you say so-I did try it and it was very good, better than some of the chain restaurants). Next time we drive through there, we’ll make sure we stop again. Eat Local!

I’m sorry to say the BBQ here is not good at all, the meat is bland so you have to smother it in BBQ sauce. Not worth it.

Not worth the hype! Believe me, I was SO excited to try this place. I have had their burgers a few times now and they just are NOT that good. I would really rather go to Whataburger. Their burgers are dry with little taste. Such a shame, Billy Bob!

First of all, to Bob, MOVE you dipshit. It’s not hard. You clearly don’t like Hondo or Texas, or Uvalde for that matter, and your reviews shouldn’t be trusted by anyone but people who are also sour and bitter about being forced to live somewhere they don’t want to live. Second of all, Billy Bob’s is not the best BBQ’d burger in the world. But it does hit the spot. Perhaps just because I grew up in Hondo and Billy Bob’s reminds me of home. But I have always loved the crinkle cut french fries, the really greasy, really hot double burger, and the specials the daily deals they used to have(I assume they still do). The burgers are thin, and they are quite greasy. I do not think they are prefrozen though. Anyway, it’s heads and tails above most fast food burgers. And that’s all that really mattered to me.

Picture this– You’re just starting out on a 5 hour drive home after a LOONNNG weekend on the river, 4 days of «chilling» in the water and drinking. You recover every morning with a cup of joe, a breakfast burrito then you repeat. Now the last thing, the ABsolute last thing you need at this point is a big half pound greasy burger. We knew this and stopped anyways. Billy Bob’s is just what you picture from the name– small building right off the freeway, wooden bleachers, one small bathroom, and a line out the front door by noon. Some of the options include a «heart attack burger» and the«giant» already mentioned. They also have chicken baskets and grilled chicken sandwiches. Thankfully I was blessed with some common sense and stuck with the junior burger which was still plenty big enough. With fries and a large sweet tea, the $ 5 combo really hit the spot.
