Icing on the Cookie

Getting a warm cookie from IOTC blows away Insomnia any time.

I just received these from a neighbor as a Christmas present and they were gorgeous and DELISH!!! I ate way more than I should and could care less about those holiday lbs at the moment. These would be a wonderful housewarming or special treat of any kind. If I’m being honest, the first bite or two didn’t blow me away, but the more I ate, the more I ate! Yum yum!

Great people and amazing cookies! The ginger cookie is awesome but the iced cookies. WOW!

How have I never heard of this great, local place!!! $ 1.25 for a delicious, fresh cookie the size of my hand and as thick as a hamburger! That’s nuts, and you can get a dozen for only $ 13! Those are the traditional cookie options. I tried the monster and the chocolate chip; they were both exceptional. I’ve definitely got a go to cookie spot now. I can’t wait to try their other goods out, too (apparently the cheese straws are super)! I also tried one of their custom cookies with the colorful icing. I literally do not like this style 80% of the time, but I loved this one, and wanted more regardless of how huge it was. Their cookies are perfectly made, soft, thick, fresh. YUM!!! I want more now! I can’t wait to get some more!

How amazing is this place? Seriously, from the sweet smell that wakes you up as soon as you walk in to the customer service to the delicious cookies — you can’t get any better than Icing On The Cookie.
I ordered cookies from here for all my bridesmaids, flower girls, and ring bearers last week to ask them to be in our wedding. The cookies turned out amazing (see bridesmaid cookie photo) and I shipped them to Wisconsin, New York, Maryland etc. Even after 4 – 5 days, all the recipients said the cookies tasted amazing and fresh and stayed in one piece.
I have ordered cookies from here before for LSU football games, bachelorette parties, etc and have always been so impressed!
If you are in the Homewood area, make sure you drop by here! And on Fridays, the Shindigs food truck is usually parked outside = great food & dessert!

I love this place! I ordered cookies for a baby shower I was hosting and Shelby (the owner) even matched the icing to the invitations. They really go the extra mile to ensure that they are meeting their customers needs. In addition to being cute cookies. .. they also taste amazing. I’ve had to cut myself off at times cause they are pretty addicting. It’s hard not to stop in for a cookie when I’m in the neighborhood. Just one helpful hint, if you need a large order, or if it’s around a holiday, be sure to call ahead and order. This place gets pretty busy and while it’s only happened to me once, sometimes they are just out of cookies if you stop by there late in the afternoon, the day before Valentines day. .. hint hint, i should have called the day before :(

I’ve used Icing on the Cookie for everything over the years: trips while babysitting to make 2 little girls very happy, an afternoon treat with my boyfriend (now turned husband), and I’ve picked up cookies for parties.
My favorite thing is sending cookies for special occasions (new baby arrivals) and also a way to say «thank you» to special people. It’s much more unique and enjoyable than flowers and they always are well received. The cookies ship so well and the packaging is adorable!
This is my go to for anything sweet in the Birmingham area!
