This is a decent enough teeny tiny liquor store. The problem is the parking lot. There are spaces for maybe a dozen cars in the whole little strip mall. And it is very close to Halsted. Put that all together and you’ve got traffic stopped or your rear end stuck out on Halsted waiting for someone to back out of their space. It’s a nightmare. And as you can imagine as the place starts hopping on Friday nights people get a little less patient. I try not to have to stop here. But if the lot is empty I will pop in, the store itself is fine. If it’s Friday or Saturday night, I’ll save myself the headache and stop up the road.

The store has a great selection of tequilas(and since that is the ONLY thing I drink, it’s kind of important) and are usually the cheapest. Even cheaper than big places like Binny’s. Wine(for the wife) choices are pretty decent and it seems they have a pretty big choice on all the other booze I don’t care about unless I’m having a party. Some of the people who shop there can be a little on the questionable side of things but I have never had a problem. I read some reviews on here about poor customer service. My experience has been that it isn’t great but it sure isn’t bad. There is a small lady who I think is married to the owner and she is always very pleasant. I’ve never had to wait very long so I guess the customer service is fine? Grades? Tequila selection and price? A+++. Other selections and prices? A. Atmosphere? C–(there are some people who shop there that look like they’ve worn handcuffs a time or two if you know what I mean). Customer Service? B-?(but still better than that big store I mentioned earlier in the review). All in all the selection and prices are great and it’s close to home.

Excellent store, with great selection of everything, Customer Service needs little improvement on phone as well as in store. I called for Sherry Wine, the person took some time to understand and replied she carry Taylor brand Sherry Wine for sure, but wasn’t sure about how much, and she was the only one at counter, so she said she can not leave the counter to go check price… :):) other than this customer service experience the store is fabulous…

We shop here everytime we visit grandma. The selection and prices beat anything we have in Columbus. The staff is courteous and very helpful. Love this place.

This place is dimly lit, cluttered, and frankly a bit creepy. It kind of feels like the sort of liquor store you’d expect in a really scary neighborhood of Gary, rather than in relatively working class Homewood. The beer selection is good, at least, which is why the place doesn’t get only one star, but the service is usually rude(with one hippie dude with blonde hair being the exception). If I’m in Homewood and looking for alcohol, I tend to go to Family Liquors on Dixie Highway instead, because it doesn’t make me feel like I’m liable to get some kind of airborne illness or be shot simply by occupying the space.

Horrible service. Was in line to purchase bar stock for Father’s Day and the bastard at the register took the white guy behind me. I stated, «We were nest» as if it weren’t obvious. The cashier responded, «well it’s too late now». Never get another dime from us and we always buy to stock. Only get one star because it was required to rate.
