Both my husband and I loved our meals! He had Philly steak and cheese and I had chicken quesadillas! I wanted French fries but they didn’t have any. I was so glad we were forced to get something other than fries. My husband had tater tots which were crunchy and tasty, a unique and nice surprise for tater tots! I had sweet potato fries! They were so yummy! We ate outside! This was something we’ve never done! being able to enjoy downtown Homestead like this was quite enjoyable!

Tried this place a couple weeks back. Thinking about trying it again now. I feel the wings were pre cooked even though they said otherwise. Mahi fingers were okay. Calamari was okay. We ordered a steak quesadilla but they brought us a shrimp quesadilla which was frigging awesome. The drinks were excellent. We were the only diners at 6:30 on a Thursday. We had a waitress that was very friendly but wouldn’t leave us alone. Lots of uncomfortable silence while we just wanted to enjoy our meals. Kinda weird. All in all, for Homestead, A+ for effort!

The Click is playing tonight, pretty good. Food that we ordered: Wings, Chili(Bad), Salsa and Chips, Conch Chowder and Tots. The fish dip was good with a side of jalapeño. Would I come back for a meal? No.

Living in Homestead sometimes you feel you only have a handful of dining options. Having heard of this place for a couple of weeks we decided to check it out. Upon entering, its great big open space which was great! I hate feeling like I am on a blind date with another couple at some other spots. The live band was great, the music was waaaay waaaay too loud. We had to yell(not exaggerating) and when that didn’t work, point out our selections for the evening to our waiter. All of the food came out at once… ugh. The cheesesticks were room temp and the big box wholesaler taste was forgettable. The fresh catch options were Swai(?) and Mahi. Being a fan of Mahi thats what I ordered. My «Mahi» fingers were MEH. I am still not convinced that they were Mahi– hence the quotations. The meat was dark, dry, and had a strange taste. Much unlike the sweet, juicy Mahi meat. My husband ordered a Steak and Cheese sandwich. It was«just alright». I would like to give this place another shot but it will take some convincing to get my husband to go. I would definitely go to watch a game and have drinks, seems more appropriate for that.

I really liked this place. Been here 5 times. 4 times we were the only customers in the place. The food was good, a lot of «hovering». The last time was really awful — ordered several items from the fryer. Sent them all back. It seems they are having a hard time keeping up quality once it got crowded. I will give it another chance once they have some time to get settled in and experienced.

My wife and I went to this newly opened place and were pleasantly surprised. Homestead sorely needed a non-chain pub that wasn’t scary looking. We were the only ones there for awhile but it was early in the afternoon. Nice atmosphere and the service was very good and friendly. We had the grilled wings to start and they were nice and crunchy — I definitely would go back for those even if the rest of the food wasn’t good. But it was. I had clam chowder and a salad and my wife had a hamburger and fries. High quality and very good. The beer selection was also good and we each partook and were pleased. Our expectations were not high as this is Homestead… but will make this a go-to place from now on.

Tied this restaurant again in the last two weeks. The food is unreal for our area. I have lied in Homestead for many years and this is a great addition to the area. Not a chain restaurant. THe outside patio is a great way to spend the afternoon at lunch time with friends — especially girl friends. The service is awesome –the wait staff Jessica was so personable and could talk about the wonderful items on the menu and prices are fantastic. Evelyn M

The chef did a wonderful job with the menu !!! I tried a couple of plates the churasco was juicy with flavor and my son has the chicken fingers, which he loved and wanted more. I would recommend Luckys if you want good food and not a bad price !!

Finally a non-chain restaurant whose food is very good, not just«good…for Homestead». Lucky’s food could legitimately stand toe-to-toe with restaurants in downtown Miami, Pinecrest, Coral Gables, etc. When I heard that they use only fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and saw their somewhat upscale menu, I confess I was a bit skeptical — as they are located in downtown Homestead(an area they have been trying to gentrify for years). However, they proved me wrong. My wife’s Mahi Mahi on a bed of greens with key lime cilantro vinaigrette was presented with true restaurant visual flair, and the fish itself was moist, buttery, perfectly prepared… and fresh. I had a pizza burger, which was a bit heavier, but it tasted great with high-quality, properly cooked beef and was perfect for the more«pub food» side of the restaurant. Likewise, the smoked fish dip with tortillas was a tasty combo of mahi and wahoo; it was a chopped a bit fine for my taste(I prefer the more chunky, whole bits of fish approach versus the ‘tuna-like paté” consistency), but the flavor was right on. Don’t let the sort of «dive bar» name fool you. While the atmosphere is simple, it definitely has a bit of the urban chic feel to it along with the Homestead small-town bar feel. Whether this appeals to you, your mileage may vary. Service was great, but keep in mind the restaurant just opened and who knows how it will be once they’ve got more people. The waiter did tell us that the owner of Lucky’s, who is a restauranteur throughout the region, has plans to open up several restaurants and night-life spots in downtown Homestead, and is cooperating with local owners of Stick and Stein to expand the historic downtown area. So hopefully, that will work out, because the area could use more restaurants with Lucky’s Pub and Grub’s quality. I’m adding a star to make it an even 5, because while it would be good in Miami, for Homestead it’s about as good as it gets for well prepared food that could actually be called«cuisine».
