Needed sustenance at Holyoke Mall, and the smell of pretzels lured me in. There was a brief wait, and even though there were two registers and more than two employees, only one register was open. They had plenty of pretzels hot and ready! For about $ 5 or so, you can get a pretzel, a dipping sauce(«cheddar cheese», cream cheese, pizza sauce, or vanilla icing), and a soda. I opted for that, since it was going to be about $ 4 for a pretzel with cheese anyway. The pretzel was a bit spongy, and too buttery for my taste. Plenty of cheese to go around. Soda tasted like the«mix» of syrup to soda water was off(too little syrup). All in all, $ 5 is a little more than I wanna spend for a snack, but that pretzel smell – that haunts every mall in America– is too difficult to ignore. Maybe I’ll check out the«other» pretzel shop in Holyoke Mall… is it the same chain? We’ll call it «research».

While shopping at the Holyoke Mall we decided to grab a little snack from Pretzelmaker since the aroma of fresh baked pretzels drifted through the store. When we went to the counter we were quickly served and really enjoyed out pretzels. We bought the pretzel bites and honey mustard sauce. The pretzels were soft but not rubbery, and the sauce was great as well. The price was a little high for the amount you bought but not a bad snack. It totally filled our snacking needs and made shopping more bearable!
