Another place you cannot miss on your visit to the Big Island. Holualoa village, high up the slope from downtown Kona, is a wonderful little artist’s enclave packed with galleries. Holualoa Gallery is my favorite. The two proprietors Matthew and Mary Lovein are both accomplished artists. Mary is a painter and Matthew is a world class ceramicist. Mary, who runs the gallery has very discerning taste and displays a very tasteful and accessible collection from local artists of various mediums. I will definitely always stop in during my island visits.

What can you say, one of the most unique villages on the big island of Hawaii. Just a few miles from Kona. Holualoa offers a number of cute shops and the most unique is the Holualoa Gallery. This is a must stop when you visit Hawaii. Matt and Mary will be your host as you visit the gallery, both are artist and are greatly involved in the media.
